This was the best hotel we've stayed in the world!!!!! We got married in Buenos Aires and stayed there 3 nights before our wedding and our wedding night. They just went way above and beyond everything to meet all of our needs. During our wedding night, my husband asked to switch rooms and prepare the room for when we got back - as a surprise to me. So when we got there from the wedding we had another room fully decorated with flowers and champagne, but all of our stuff stayed in the old room. They did this without charging us anything more. Service is just out of this world perfect! The hotel is super cool! Decoration is a mix of modern and old-fashioned Argentinian style. Location is great - Puerto Madero area where there are so many cool places to eat and hang out and taxis everywhere to take you to Palermo and other cool places. The food was also outstanding - from breakfast to a quick snack - everything was perfect. It is not cheap for Buenos Aires ' standard but worth every single penny! Finally, the spa is great! I got 2 massages that were just perfect!!!! We totally recommend this place and a must-stay while in Buenos Aires.

This hotel is utterly schizophrenic. My wife and I experienced gracious, friendly service that went above and beyond the call of duty one moment - and then were snubbed by wait staff in the bar the next. There is definitely a feeling of, "You're not cool enough to stay here". This is problematic since, based upon what we observed, flabby American tourists and businessmen from Squaresville are a main source of income for this place. This behavior may have something to do with the fact that the hotel is, I believe, part of an exclusive (read: expensive) condominium community right across the street. Residents use the hotel's facilities like we might use a country club. There was a constant drone of 'house' music throughout the hotel which we found annoying and they constantly sprayed a cloying scent throughout the lobby and foyer which my wife was allergic to.

The rooms are quite comfortable in a cutting edge way, though not very big (at least ours). I had trouble figuring out the stereo/TV controls. (could just be me) The spa/health club is fantastic - and while I dislike the decor, the food and wine list in their restaurant, El Bistro, was outstanding - as was the service. Of course for what they're charging, you should expect that.

The location, right next to the Puerto Madero is ideal for foodies. While the neighborhood shows much promise, there isn't much around at present. Time will remedy that however.

Personally, for the money, I'd rather stay at the Alvear Palace, Four Seasons or Sofitel.

we just returned from our holidays in Argentina and it is unanimous (above all we adore the country) the Faena Experience was the most surprising part of our trip. We have been in other luxurious destinations before (travelling is our only caprice) but the Faena Experience has been the best by far. To summarise our experience: you dont need to be Victoria Beckam to feel special at the Faena Hotel. Service is great the building is astonish, the new area of the city where the hotel is located is amazing and Buenos Aires is just Buenos Aires (changing so fast! dont miss the new Palermo Soho!). We will come back!

We stayed at this hotel on July 2006 and we really loved it. Now they are among "the leading hotels of the world".
Service was really excellent, and all the crew was friendly and kind. Service, in fact, is the difference between this and the traditional five stars hotels, what means the concept of "hotel-boutique"). More traditional people really don´t get it , what can explain some bad reviews at this site.

I stayed at this hotel last year and am about to stay there again this August. After seeing all the bad reviews however I wanted to express my feelings about the hotel even before I stayed a second time. SOME PEOPLE JUST DONT GET IT. And thats fine, but this hotel is a work of art and amazing ... Everyone who is anyone in Buenos Aires eats and hangs out there. You wont find them at the Ritz. The service is a bit different, but wonderful after you get your bearings. The location isn't as central as you might like, but this is why true creame de la creame Argentineans come here. That and the stunning restaurant and bar. This is a place to be beautiful in. Pull out your Prada and your vintage Halston. No were else in the world is this sort of life this accessible ... And your entre is a simple room key.
