4nts-I love the hotel- we had a beautiful suite-incredible design and quite comfortable. The staff was friendly and professional but a little on the arrogant side. I have stayed at amazing Asian hotels and had much better staff. The Rojo Tango show was a really nice experience. The breakfast buffet was also very nice. Location was great-taxis are cheap. I would recommend the hotel but I would stay somewhere else the next time.

The hotel is both surreal and gorgeous. However, for the price it just doesn't measure up. While the staff is friendly, no one working here will ever suffer from work related stress. For a country renown for its beef I wish, just once, that they would have prepared my steak the way I oredered it. I asked for med rare and I get well done. The side dishes were always cold and it's best if you place your order prior to actually being hungry. Buenos Aires is beautiful and has many, many great hotels for considerably less. I suggest you pick one of those.

Yes the Faena is expensive but the service is some of the best I have experienced anywhere in the world. We stayed in the hotel for Christmas Eve and Day but a week before were able to drop off some luggage in advance of our stay as we were off to the countryside for a week. This was not a problem at all and made our lives so much easier travelling around.

The decor in the hotel is better than any I have seen before and I cannot think of a hotel I have visited with such a style of its own. The photos are the only thing that can do it justice.

The food in the hotel is pricey but of a high standard, we had already seen the tango show on a previous visit and suspect there are better value shows in BA that are available. The bistro is a crazy room all in white with unicorns coming out of the walls and is a grand dinning experience.

Back to service, the hotel provides you with your own concierge (1 for every two rooms I think) and a small mobile phone that you can reach your concierge on when ever you need help. They arranged taxi's suggested places to eat which were superb. This is a really special touch which you have paid for so it is worth using even if it feels a little strange to start.

Draw backs as there have to be a couple, they charge for wireless as it is an easy way for big hotels to make huge margins. The biggest drawback however is the huge volume sof day trippers or gate crashers that go to the pool each day. It is a superb pool and complex but if you are a guest you shouldn't have a problem getting a bed around the pool. We were OK but many others weren't as lucky. The people watching around the pool is fantastic and people mixed well over a drink as the sun was going down which was good to see.

If you are thinking of treating yourself when you are in BA this is something worth experiencing even if it is a short visit.

My husband and I split up our time in BsAs between Puerto Madero and Palermo and I'm so happy we decided to do that, because our Palermo experience was infinitely better at the hotel Legado Mitico than at the Faena. The staff who work at the reception desk are horribly rude and act like they are doing you a favor by talking to you. While the design aesthetic is definitely cool, the build quality in the room is terrible. And our bathtub, while nice to look at, was very unpractical and the bathroom floor flooded every time we took a shower. The Faena is the only place in BsAs where you'll be paying NYC prices... and it's not worth it. The pool is the only reason to stay at the hotel...and Gaston, who works at the pool and Marina, who works at the spa are the only saving graces. And Rosita - she gave me a fabulous massage. I also did a private yoga class, which wasn't worth it. The instructor was so focused on herself, tt was more like I was doing yoga alongside her instead of receiving any adjustments or instruction. On our next trip to BsAs, we will stay in Palermo and only visit the Faena for the Rojo Tango show. It was an incredible show and the only thing at the Faena that is worth the hefty price tag.
