“Style... rock n roll”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013 via mobile

Overall Faena is a wonderful experience. It truly is more than a hotel. I think it will end up being one of the best hotels I end up staying at, but not nearly the most expensive.

The rooms and everything else are very clean, as you'd expect.

The location at Puerto Madero is fine. I wouldn't personally stay at Puerto Madero by choice or to discover the neighborhood... but the area is nice and clean and safe and has a couple of nice boutiques and shops. But it's not the BA I came to discover. Having said that, we found taxis easy, accessible and cheap and Palermo is only 20-30 minutes away by taxi (traffic dependent). San Telmo is a brief stroll away.

The rooms are equipped as you'd expect, to the standard you'd expect. I quite liked the styling, but nothing outrageous to mention. The glass bathrooms are interesting, but don't have to be as revealing as they sound, due to extensive curtains.

The service across the board is extremely professional and helpful without being outwardly friendly or particularly pro-active. Not a negative, just their style. Staff are very knowledgable about BA, as you'd expect. There are a lot of staff, so its never difficult to get help.

We got a deal through Jetsetter (I think), which was very reasonable relatively... but we were there in shoulder season.

I think the whole experience is what makes the hotel special. The pool is amazing, the breakfast room is fantastic, the cocktail bar is perfect. The restaurant El Bistro had great food (and steak) and superb wine list and sommelier (I think he has subsequently left).

I will remember Faena forever, it's a magic place which feels like a sanctuary compared to what BA can be like. A great escape, like a fairytale almost.
I'll be back, I'd recommend it to any of my friends also.

What an amazing place to spend New Years, the staff are all amazing, the food incredible, the rooms well considered, i simply cant thank you enough. Giselle and the new little blonde girl waitress by the pool made sure sure that the shortage of wine wine wasn't a problem. Have a great 2013 and i cant wait to return.

Room Tip: probably avoid the 1st floor as the sound from downstairs gets you a bit.

This place is so weird. You will find unicorns hanging from the walls... But somehow it all makes sense. A very special place with a great eye for detail! Great service, lovely food - maybe a little overpriced and the location could be a little better as it is kinda far from the city centre!

Interesting decor to say the least. But somehow it works. Rooms a small with limited storage. Bar is great and as for putting a crown type water fountain in the pool- well that is barking, to say the least. How can I swim my 50 lengths dodging that thing!

After a long trip to get to Buenos Aires filled with airport delays, flight cancellations, etc. the Faena was a breath of fresh air. From the moment we set foot on the property we were treated like royalty. They were extremely understanding with the changes to our reservation due to travel delays and even upgraded us to a deluxe suite. We were also offered a drink immediately upon arrival at the bar while our "experience manager" prepared our information and took our bags. Our suite was two floors and was enormous - complete with a huge spa whirlpool tub. This is one of the most unique hotels I have every seen - the decor is very unique and you can tell that every detail was designed to provide guests with a sensory experience. The service was impeccable and everyone was extremely friendly. The pool is beautiful. I also had spa treatments and that was also spectacular. I highly recommend this hotel if you want a unique and memorable experience. The location in Recoleta is also ideal for walking along the riverfront. The neighborhood is very nice. Thank you Faena for a truly memorable stay! We will be back the next time we visit Buenos Aires!

The Faena is a top-notch hotel to stay at in Buenos Aires. The Phillip Stark decor is a lot of fun. Great service and good food. It is elegant but not stuffy. The location is perfect. You can bike ride and takes walks along the water front. It is a short cab ride to the other neighborhoods.

Room Tip: Corner suites are bright and sunny. The higher floors are quiet.

The Faena Hotel is such a pleasurable sensory experience, from the music to the awesome visual experience everywhere you look. The service is outstanding and in a most sincere form.
I enjoyed staying in Puerto Madero after being in the hustle of the San Telmo market; Recoleta and Palermo SOHO areas. The Rojo Tango is probably the best tango show in BA. Thank you for making my stay so memorable and comfortable.
