I am an ex-pat from Texas living and working in B.A. for the past five years and recently married to an Argentine! This is a perfect Boutique Hotel if your looking for personalized service and pampering. The hotel and staff exceeded my expectations as I thuoght I was going to be on my own trying to organize a small, but intimate family wedding with well travelled friends coming in from Europe and the States.

A contempory lobby with roof to lobby glass atrium, spacious marble bathrooms, new bedding and trendy LCD TVs and real WiFi ! The wedding arrangements were fantastic with special thanks to Ramiro and Grace for catering to all of my (as well as my mothers) wishes!

I am eternally grateful to my friend Caroline whom works for a US Multinational as she recommened the Aspen Towers Hotel to me, as their corporate choice for incoming executives to Buenos Aires.

I definitely plan on returning for our 1st year anniversity .. if not sooner !!!

The Aspen was an all-around sub-par experience. The rooms were average sized (a little on the small side), which isn't a problem, but there is very little shelf space which made it hard to put everything somewhere other than on the floor so the room seemed much smaller. The furniture was outdated, and the drawers in the nightstand jammed a lot. Carpet and wallpaper was old and pretty worn too. The good things were the nice plasma TV (seemed out of place compared to the rest of the room-haha) and the nice bathroom with whirlpool (also seemed out of place), but there was no shower curtain which was weird.

The rest of the hotel was pretty bad, as well. The lobby was tasteful, but unimpressive and small, and both the restaurants were mediocre (actually it is really just 2 separate dining areas-both have the same menus I believe). The one night we did eat at the hotel for dinner, the service was slow and the food was so-so, and served cold. The buffet breakfast was also relatively lame, with runny eggs being the only hot option, a few cold cuts, some fruit, and some breads.

Staff members at the Aspen were friendly, but somewhat unhelpful since most spoke very little english and seemed like they were not properly trained for their positions. For example we had a maid come by twice asking if we needed our room made even though our room had been cleaned already, and the reception staff on duty did not know how to issue a new key for me and had to call a manager to do it.

I visited the sauna, fitness room, and pool on my last day and was thoroughly disappointed with them too. The fitness center consisted of 1 treadmill and 1 upright bike in a small room the size of a bathroom. The sauna was not and there was mold on the wood in it. The pool was by far the scariest. It was closed for the day, according to the maid, but frankly I would've been more concerned if it were open. It was filled with some kind of grey organism, and was grimey on the edges (see included photo).

Overall, Aspen Towers has very little going for it especially compared with some of the other more unique, classier, and similarly priced hotels in Buenos Aires. Although its location is good and close to good shopping, the Aspen should be avoided by all unless as a last resort.

Aspen Towers was a good surprise.
This was my fourth time in Buenos Aires and I have stayed in cheaper hotels in Recoleta and Microcentro, but since this time I was traveling with my mother we decided to pay a little bit more to be more comfortable and have a bathtub. It was definitely worth it.
We did our reservations by their website, which was very easy. The hotel sent e-mails right after we did the reservation and also 2 days before our arrival, with more details about the hotel.

- PROS
Excellent location, close to Florida, 9 de Julio avenue and metro stations.
Our superior room had two double beds, quite soft but very comfortable. We had a mini bar, Plasma TV with more than 70 channels (cable), 2 wardrobes. Air conditioner was good and silent.
The room was very clean and seemed new.
Bathroom was spacious and had a huge bathtub (Jacuzzi). It also had two sinks and a good shower.
Service was very good and gentle. Employees were always smiling and helpful.
Breakfast is good for Argentinean standards: varieties of bread, jams, milk, coffee, yogurts, fruits, juices, eggs, sausages, even some pastries.
Fast check in and check out.
- CONS
Walls between rooms are very thin, sometimes we could hear our next door neighbor flushing in his toilet and he could hear our TV at night even if we were listening to it very low.
Breakfast room is really tiny and 2 or 3 days we had to wait in line or have breakfast on the bar counter.

The location is excellent. Our room was ample and the staff was observant and friendly, checking in with us in the afternoon to see if we had any needs or wanted turn-down service. Front desk was highly professional and helpful. (Disclosure: our stay was comped, therefore our experience might not be standard. I have no idea what the room cost and I suspect not everyone receives a personal visit to their room from the marketing director upon arriving.)

Complaints: bath towels were meager (3) and a bit thin, the only tissues provided were in tiny 3-to-a-pack, plastic wrapped travel sizes (is it so hard to provide a box?).

The breakfast is indeed the same food every day, but they offer a selection that should please most people (esp. since it's free). It does get crowded during their last hour of serving, but they set the bar to handle the overflow.
