I stayed 4 nights at the Dolmen while in Buenos Aires to attend a wedding. My company's office in Argentina made the booking for me, which seemed to help a lot with the rate as it seems bookings made within Argentina are done at a lower price than bookings made otherwise. I arrived on an AM flight from the US and my room was available for an early check-in without any problems. The room itself, while not up to 5 star standards, was completely fine and since it was on the back of the hotel, there was absolutely no traffic noise at all. Breakfast was included and the buffet, while nothing great, was fine. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of Florida Street and Puerto Madera is not too far either. Taxi's seemed be very easy to catch right in front of the hotel also. My only complaints were that I requested 2 extra hours for an extended check-out and was happily told yes, for 50% of the nightly rate. 50% for 2 hours?? Most hotels would not even charge. Also, I made a 10 minute or so call to the USA and was charge 106 pesos (US$34). I would certainly stay there again, but not make any international calls.

“Hotel Dolmen --- far from impressed”

I am writing this review from the lobby of the hotel (while waiting for the shuttle bus to take my wife and I back to the airport) while my experience of this place is still fresh in my mind. We stayed 2 nights at the Dolmen Hotel and booked our stay via a travel agent from Australia.

When we arrived at the airport, we were told that someone would be waiting for us with a sign with our names on it. Surprise! No one was there for us. We managed to find the office of the transport company and finally got on our way to the hotel after 1.5 hours of running around and waiting for a shuttle bus to be ready. Once arrived to the hotel, we were greeted by two obnoxious and rude ladies at the desk who told us our room wasnt ready and to go get a coffee or something at the bar. Of course , no one was attending the bar, so we just sat there. After 30 mins , we went back to the front desk to ask what is happening , and one of the ladies muttered something in spanish to the other one who then burst out laughing. She told us to wait another 30 minutes. Which we did. Once arrived in the room, we were not impressed by the poor quality of the furnishings, the tiny bathroom and overall cleanliness of the bath and carpets (sorry to sound like I' m nagging, but we've stayed in many many cheaper priced places with much better overall quality). To top it off , there were no towels and had to wait about 25 mins to get some delivered.

In the morning , the buffet was ok but nothing to write home about. We had a lovely day sightseeing and walking about and once we came back late in the afternoon, the room was half cleaned and of course no towels were supplied , again!

In short, we would love to come back to wonderful Buenos Aires but we WILL NOT stay again at the Dolmen. Hell no.

Regards,

K and K Ngoviky,
Brisbane Australia

“Great service and location”

Loved our stay at Dolmen Hotel! Prices are reasonable and service is warm and personalized. We were treated to a very good FREE three course dinner --delicious-- and our waiter , Hugo, was efficient and kind. Mariano and others at the reception desk were very attentive. There are marble floors, mirrors and brass accents throughout. Our triple bedroom was large and clean, our beds were opened and chocolates placed on our pillows every night. An excellent breakfast is included with a variety of fruit and pastry, bacon and eggs, juices etc. You can walk to Florida, Recoleta, Puerto Madero , Gale rias Pacifico and upscale Santa Fe shops. Excellent value ! Photos to be included shortly.

excellent service, even late at night! fair prices, huge breakfast buffet, good location
Only the bathrooms and the swimming-pool on the top of the building were not as good as the other aspects of this hotel
anyway we enjoyed our stay there and we definitely will come back!

After staying for 4 days I left the hotel on sunday 29th may.

When I arrived home I missed my watch and 2 tshirts that I had left at the bathroom.

I called the hotel and they said there was nothing left.

But I am sure it was there.
Do not stay there if you want to relax about your stuff
