Our family spent two nights at this charming European style hotel in the heart of Recoleta before driving to a beach vacation in Mar del Plata. My husband and I had a junior suite and our three teens had a triple across the hall. The rooms were clean, with old world (but not shabby) decor, and had plenty of space for our family. I am surprised that others found this property lacking in any way. We were delighted and would gladly have stayed longer if not for our kids pining to get to the beach. If you want a luxurious American style hotel with rooms that look like a Pottery Barn ad, then go elsewhere, but Hotel Plaza Francia gave us everything we wanted in Buenos Aires at a great price.

This hotel provided good service but was overpriced for the size of the room. The double glazed windows blocked out most of the street noise. Breakfast consisted of fruits, pastries, and breads along with ham and cheese. It was good but I became board with it since it was exactly the same every morning. The hotel is about two blocks away from nice restaurants and the famous Recoleta cemetary. In addition, there is a large park across the street from the hotel - perfect for jogging or walking. Unfortunatly, there are no subway stations near the hotel, so If you want to visit the Recoleta area then stay here for a night or two but then change to a different hotel in another part of the city. ( I liked the convience of the Microcentro area.)

We stayed one night in the Plaza Francia.

The staff is very friendly and helpful and did all they could to make the stay nice.

However, the rooms are small and generally run down. The paint was missing and scuffed from many of the walls, and the bathroom plumbing is a little worse for the wear.

There was free WiFi internet, whch is a nice touch, although it stopped working in the morning and we couldn't get it working again.

The hotel is in a great location for walking to shopping and dining, so that's a plus. It's on a pretty noisy, busy street though.

Overall, it was a fine, but not great for the price we paid (almost $120 USD.) We moved to another hotel in BA for just about the same price and ended up somewhere much nicer.

A very small hotel in the BA Recoleta district. I have stayed there several times but in the last couple years have moved over to the Melia Hotel. This is a nice little hotel with a really cozy Bar that is about three blocks from the Recoleta Cemetary. Its also close to the restaurant district in the Recoleta, about four blocks. As with most places one can have a tour bus pick you up and drop you off at the hotel for day tours. Some rooms have a small balcony that is really nice with a great view. There are more impressive places in the area like the Alvear Palace but this is a really a friendly and comfortable little place for alot less money.
