A very small hotel in the BA Recoleta district. I have stayed there several times but in the last couple years have moved over to the Melia Hotel. This is a nice little hotel with a really cozy Bar that is about three blocks from the Recoleta Cemetary. Its also close to the restaurant district in the Recoleta, about four blocks. As with most places one can have a tour bus pick you up and drop you off at the hotel for day tours. Some rooms have a small balcony that is really nice with a great view. There are more impressive places in the area like the Alvear Palace but this is a really a friendly and comfortable little place for alot less money.

This, basically, is an old , very modest hotel in a choice location in Recoletta. We spent 4 nights there and although the staff were top drawer, this really is no better than a 2 star. The elevators are tiny, perhaps good for 2 people with their suitcases. Should you want some ice, it can become quite comical - they have very little of it and are loathe to part with what they have - they have no ice machine, it is made in plastic trays in the basement! On the plus side is the ablity to walk everywhere, especially a brilliant artesan market at the weekends right beside the hotel. Further afield and again on the weekend, do not miss the market at San Telmo, very large, entertaining and an excellent way to spend a day.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for only one night. Good location - easy walking distance to most places. The room was clean, despite the older carpet. Staff were friendly. Decent breakfast. Average hotel for the price ($85.00USD).

Have just returned from a week's stay at the Hotel Plaza Francia. The location is ideal for walkers and cabbers alike. The staff are friendly and helpful. My companion was sick in bed for 2 days and they could not have been more considerate. The ambiance was more like a B and B than a hotel...a welcoming atmosphere.

Many good restaurants are just around the corner, as well as cafes, pastry shops,cafes , pharmacies , banks etc. One can walk to the National Museum of Art,the Recoleta Cemetary, the Church of Nuestra Senora del Pilar. High end stores are a few blocks away.

The rooms at the hotel are very clean, fresh linen on the beds daily. The bar is always open for tea or coffee.I will definitely return to the beautiful city of Buenos Aries and back to the Hotel Plaza Francia as well.
