“Outstanding hotel in Recoleta”

Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires

Aug 7, 2007
6/6 found this review helpful

My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons for three nights on the last leg of our honeymoon.

The service at the hotel was flawless. We first arrived in Argentina 2 weeks prior to going to Buenos Aires but the Four Seasons had no trouble accomodating a request for a transfer from EZE to the domestic airport, which epitomized the quality of our stay there.

The room (and bathroom) is quite large and flawlessly appointed. The pool area was lovely, and staff came by frequently to take food and drink orders. We never went more than a few moments without having a towel nearby.

The concierge had taken care of all our reservations prior to our arrival, and had our dining plans printed out for us at the time of our check-in. They were quite helpful when asked for futher recommendations, and those recommendations were spot-on. They also took care of tickets to a local tango show and lessons.

Recoleta is a lovely area and we were able to walk to many of the local attractions from the hotel - whether it be the high-end shops or Recoleta Cemetary.

The Four Seasons is an outstanding hotel and we have absolutely no complaints at all with the hotel and have no hesitations in recommending it.

“Pampered at the Four Seasons”

Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires

We LOVE the Four Seasons Hotels! Our stay in Buenos Aires only added to our justification for such praise. Our flight to Buenos Aires was diverted to Sao Paulo, Brazil where we eventually spent the night and a long morning in the airport trying to get to Buenos Aires. When we arrived at The Four Seasons (a day late) we were greeted with, "Hello Mr. & Mrs. ....We've been waiting for you." From that moment on our every need was antipicated and met flawlessly. Unfortunatly, we judge every hotel by The Four Seasons standards, and most simply don't measure up. Buenos Aires is made more wonderful by staying at The Four Seasons!

“Outstanding Venue With Professional Staff”

Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires

Jun 1, 2007

This is an outstanding venue. The hotel is modern and the staff is very helpful and highly professional. The staff at the concierge desk was especially knowledgeable and helpful. The location is in La Recoleta from which you may take very pleasant walks, for example, Plaza San Martin, the Opera House and Government Buildings. The rooms are very large and the bathrooms have a walk-in shower and whirlpool bath. The breakfast buffet is first class. Buenos Aires hotels are relatively expensive; however, this one is worth every cent.

We stayed at the Four Seasons Buenos Aires from April 14-16, 2007, with our children ages 7 & 5. Our hotel rooms were in fine condition with beautiful views of Avenida Nuevo de Julio and Puerto Nuevo. The hotel staff effortlessly provided five star service and worked well with their sister property in Uruguay to provide us with a seamless, flawless experience.

Staff and service: The transportation which the hotel arranged worked perfectly and Claudio, the driver, was friendly and professional. Upon our arrival to the hotel at 1100, one of our rooms was ready (we didn't expect to check in until the regular time but were extremely grateful that one was available), so we took the opportunity to freshen up. The front desk staff took the extra step of providing complimentary breakfast the morning of arrival because the second room wasn't ready (and mind you, one room was ready and we were hours before scheduled check-in time). Within the first 20 minutes of arrival in the room, I met the bellman who brought up our luggage and explained the features of the room (such as a city-wide complimentary cell phone to which hotel room phone calls are forwarded. You are charged only for outgoing calls, not incoming.) I also met housekeeping who brought a welcome snack and later the ironing board. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Most notably, the entire hotel staff knew and addressed us by name consistently. The concierge worked with us before and during our stay to book dining and sightseeing and we were very pleased with her suggestions. Prior to arrival, they even contacted the concierge in Uruguay for us because we hadn't heard from them yet. The restauarant suggestions were very good. We thoroughly enjoyed the city tour with Mr. Blanco. The family friendly tango at Senor Tango was good but very late, so if traveling with young children and unused to late hours, I would probably skip this and try to catch street tango dancers in La Boca during the day or at San Telmo on Sundays. If you want something more authentic, the concierge will make recommendations (like Carlos Guardel) and it's probably best to leave the kids with a babysitter at the hotel.

Rooms: We opted for two connecting rooms which worked out well. Just know that some connecting rooms are at the end of the hall and the doors (and rooms) are across from each other (imagine the top of a capital letter T), so the beds are quite far apart (a potential problem if you need to be close to toddlers). Additionally, the joint entry to the "suite" of rooms is by key (which seemed a little less secure) but we did connect the rooms in the evenings. Our rooms were on the corner of the hotel, with one looking out onto the main promenade in Recoleta and the other looking towards the docks and the water.

Food: We ate breakfast at the hotel, as it was included with our package. It was a conveniant option and was not as expensive as you would pay at other five star properties. The breakfast was either at Le Dome lounge or the Le Mistral restaurant - both have the same breakfast menu, with buffet. I would recommed Le Dome over Le Mistral for breakfast, as it had more room and was a bit less crowded. Service during breakfast in the lounge and Mistral was excellent. In addition to the buffet, items could be ordered from the kitchen (such as omlettes, bacon). Overall, the foot was good, but not great.

Pool: We swam at the outdoor pool during one windy afternoon. Despite the cool weather, the pool was well heated and the attendants were quick with towels.

The Four Seasons Buenos Aires is a beautiful hotel that meets or exceeds the brand's standards for service. While you will certainly pay top dollar for a stay here, you will not be disappointed!

My family and I stayed at the Four Seasons late March/early April and I must say that our visit was fantastic. We found the room to be exceptional (suite 405) with a wonderful view overlooking the pool and mansion. Everyone, from the front desk to the maids to the general helpers were exceptionally kind and helpful. We had our 2-year old daughter with us and the room already came with a kid size robe and a bed specially made for her. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this hotel and am sorry that the previous reviewer had a negative experience. On our last day we were driven by the Mercedes SUV to the airport and it cost us 80 US dollars which would be roughly 240 pesos. My husband had a massage at the spa and he said that it was one of the best ever.
