We stayed at the Buenos Aires Four Seasons March 10 - March 13. The hotel is wonderful!

Arrival: We booked transporation from Ezeiza Airport to the Four Seasons via the hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a impeccably dressed driver who handled our luggage and whisked us into a new Mercedes van. We were offered cool, scented towels and bottled water - very refreshing indeed! It seemed to be a 30 minute drive from EZE to the hotel. Once at the hotel, we were treated like celebrities and were decended upon by staff who wanted to be sure the we were checked in quickly and that all of our needs were met. We were quickly ushered to our room which they kindly upgraded to the Library Level. We had a terrific view of the Mansion and French Embassy. It was great to have access to the Library for the free internet access and soft drinks.

Rooms: With the exception of the bathroom, the room appeared to be recently refurbished. Beautiful Four Seasons linens made the bed very restful, although I wish they had a mattress pad to make the firm bed a little more plush. My only disappointment, and it is a small one at that, was the bathroom. It seriously needs to be remodeled. Don't get me wrong, the room was loaded with marble and wonderful ammenities, however you had to walk into the shower facing the spray to turn it on and adjust the temperature. Also, the Aquaglass tub was dated and not really FS Quality.

Service: I should add that we also stayed at the Park Hyatt in BA, which in my opinion had much nicer rooms. However, their service while great, didn't match the service that makes the FS famous. FS met our every request without hesitation. We never heard the word "No" during our stay. They arranged our transportation to their sister property in Uruguay on the Buquebus as well as numerous dinner reservations in the city. There was also a very nice lady at the pool that served up wonderful drinks with a wonderful attitude.

Food: We ate only breakfast in the hotel. Everything was fresh and prepared to perfection. Like most people visiting BA, we opted for dinner in one of the wonderful restaurants that are in abundance. We loved La Cabrera which seemed to be full of locals - a great sign. Also, La Cabana was terric for the best steaks.

Atmosphere: I, unlike the previous reviewer, didn't find incentive groups in attendance. Additionally, all of my brethren encountered exhibited proper decorum and did not draw attention to themselves in any negative way. Most people staying here are on holiday or business trips as opposed to conventioneers.

For the ultimate in pampering and a worry free vacation, we hightly recommend this property.

While previous contributors have raved about this place, we felt it rather lacked the wow factor. It is just a predictably luxurious Four Seasons chain hotel, with fabulous staff, anonymous rooms and several shortcomings. Originally a Park Hyatt, it sits at the end of a giant 10-lane freeway near the Recoleta district which has bargain shopping opportunities, restaurants and Evita’s tomb. It seemed perfectly safe to wander around at night.

The hotel lobby is beautiful with a signature Four Seasons floral display. What disappoints here is the restaurant, which is really nothing more than a flashy coffee shop, and that’s the only dining option in the hotel. The food varied enormously - totally unripe avocado in a salad, uncooked eggs lurking beneath a stodgy hollandaise Benedict, vile breakfast coffee. However, other things were great, notably the glazed pastries at greakfast. It was completely empty most nights as BA’s natives obviously never eat in hotels. I thought a fine dining option in the adjoining mansion might have been worth doing - as it is, the beautiful mansion never really feels part of the hotel. The smallish pool looks elegant but was way too crowded on our visit - thanks to armies of Americans who appeared to be on company incentive tours. Anyway, they all felt the need to shout at each other which, combined with the incessant roar of traffic, created an incredible din. Because of this, we never felt the hotel touched any degree of elegance.

One other thing: we asked the concierge for help with choosing a restaurant. We were seeking a traditional BA steakhouse and she asked if we wanted local atmosphere or something smarter. We chose the former but were told it was a cab ride away, so we chose the smart option, which was five minutes walk away. It was called La Cabana and turned out to be owned by Orient Express Hotels, which wasn’t quite what we were looking for. Good food, though, but bring a forklift truck for your doggy-bag.

  • Liked — Friendly staff, comfy bed
  • Disliked — Mass market atmosphere, lack of serious restaurant

This property does not disappoint Four Seasons fans like myself. We were treating my in-laws to a stay at the Four Seasons in BA with us, so when the front desk learned upon check in that it was their 40th wedding anniversary they were immediately upgraded to a suite overlooking the pool and mansion. Chocolate and fruit were awaiting all of us when we arrived to our rooms. Fresh fruit is delivered everyday to the room. Breakfast is excellent and plenty of choice. The location is fabulous, everything in Recoleta is within walking distance. There are other nice hotels in BA but the reason to stay at the Four Seasons in BA is the level of service. We had horrible problems with the Argentinian airline and our spanish was not that great. The concierge called the airline for us and made all of our travel arrangements while we comfortably enjoyed our breakfast. Given the excellent exchange rate, I found this Four Seasons to be quite reasonable for food and spa charges versus Four Seasons properties in the US. The spa is very nice but small. I had a great deep tissue massage with Oscar. Although the gym is small, it has technogym equipment. Pool area is great but is in the shade of some tall buildings so the sun doesn't fully cover the area until noon-ish. There is a USD 75 charge for non-hotel guests wishing to use the pool facilities. I didn't know this and invited a friend staying somewhere else to have some drinks poolside with us but after a quick word with the manager that fee was waived. Finally, the entire staff especially the doormen go out of their way for you. We arranged our city tour through the concierge and it was great. Restaurant recommendations were excellent too. My only problem with this place was that it is a very old crowd that stays here so if you're young and looking for a hip, stylish place then the FS in BA is not that great. The Faena Hotel is nearby and is very modern with a great atmosphere after hours. One warning, some prices are in dollars and some are in pesos so double check before you order room service or eat lunch/dinner at le Mistral. Breakfast is usually included. Pool side and spa treatments are in pesos.

I have stayed in many hotels and this one is pure perfection. It is elegant and refined, yet comfortable and welcoming. It is immaculate from head to toe. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave the staff can not do enough to please you. The location is excellent. The concierge staff is extremely helpful and professional. Everyone we met at this hotel is the epitome of professional. The pool area is nice especially for a city hotel.
The breakfasts are excellent. If you are going to the Buenos Aires do not even think about staying anywhere else. We almost made a huge mistake and changed our reservations to the Park Hyatt.. We went over there and right away could see the difference in the hotels.. The Park hyatt seemed trendy and cold. Not nearly as elegant as the Four seasons.. Dont make a mistake..stay at the Four Seasons..

Stayed at the Hotel recently and had a great stay. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was excellent as are the rest of the facilities which are very luxurious. Hotel is in a good location though not particularly close to any metro stations. We also found the taxi drivers picking up/dropping from the hotel seem to be more prone to trying to rip you off.
