This hotel was very different from what I usually do, large. The place is small but it was clean. When I say small, the eleveator had a max load of 3 people. The room was a decent size with a queen size bed. Bathroom was small but had everything, even a bidet. Showers had a lot of hot water, no complaints there. Breakfast was included, typical stuff but the bacon was NEVER really cooked. Other meals should be somewhere else. A lot of times we grabbed a cab and had brerakfast at Gallerias Pacifico. It was a short walk to Santa Fe also for food. I probably would not stay there again.

I really liked this hotel. During my most recent trip to Buenos Aires, I stayed in both the Kempinsky Park Chateau and the Park Elegance. I have to say this was by far the best of the two. My room was spacious, good breakfast, great location, and helpful staff. The only problem I had was that the front desk man hassled an Argentine friend of mine who came to meet me for lunch. I recommend this hotel!

We stayed here for 4 nights in May. The lobby is quite impressive but all is reproduced antique furniture. The staff was helpful. The first room we were shown was full of mosquitos, dead and alive. We had just come from Paraguay which had a dengue epidemic but then irradicated all mosquitos, so seeing them here was not what we needed. Although that room had much more light, we couldn't accept it and were given another one across the hall.. NO view, and practically no natural light. Even the artificial light was not enough.
Bathroom was small, but at least had a small jacuzzi tub.
When possible, breakfast was had in a large comfortable room used for seminars. Otherwise, it was had in the lobby. We were lucky to always get a table. The location was excellent, in Recoleta, probably one of the nicest downtown areas and within walking distance of some sights, good restaurants and boutiques.

I spent 4 days on Buenos Aires at Kempinski Park Chateau from June 7th until June 10th.The Location is excellent right in Recoleta´s heart.
Staff are very attentious.
For me the problem at this hotel are :
1) Room - The bathroom is too small;
2) After 10 P.M. there is no Service Room;
3) Breakfast is very poor for a Hotel in this category.
In my opinion there are better options in town for the same price.

“Noisy Room”

Kempinski Hotel Park Chateau Buenos Aires

Jun 4, 2007

I stayed at this hotel for two nights having originally been booked at their sister hotel, The Kempinski Park Plaza, just around the corner. On arrival at The Plaza I was told that due to plumbing problems I was to be transferred to The Kempinski Chateau. Fair enough. Finally I checked in to the Chateau being told that my room was not ready(It was 4pm,so I was not too early) and would I like a glass of champagne.Thank you very much. After 15 minutes wait I was told that I had been 'upgraded' to a top floor suite. This 'suite' turned out to be the attic. The room was pleasantly furnished,as indeed was the whole hotel,and full of character to boot. Alas my attic room was next to the elevator shaft housing and the noise was deafening:Because there is only one elevator it is in constant use even at night preventing me from getting any sleep. Moreover the radio speaker above the bed could only be turned down not off causing additional irritation. The shower pressure was pathetic and I was charged on the first night for some fizzy water from the bar which I did not consume. I never use hotel mini bars and besides do not drink gassy water! Alas when on ones travels problems arise. It is how hotels deal with these problems that seperate the professionals from the amateurs and this is where this hotel showed its true colours. Upon making a request to the acting desk manager for a quieter room I was informed that this was not possible as the hotel was full neither would he transfer me to a different hotel. As I had a 15 hour plane flight back to the UK the next day I was not a happy bunny. Upon my return I made an official complaint to the Kempinski's Director of Sales & Marketing a Miss Maria Leonarda Pipkin who tried to make out that Hotels.com(who I booked the room with online) had been notified of the fact that my original choice of hotel was not available. She also contradicted her desk manager at The Park Plaza(the hotel I was originally booked with) stating that my room was not available due to a burst water main outside the hotel and (yes)outside their control. The desk manager told me that a whole floor of the hotel was out of action due to plumbing problems.He went on to say that this was because the building infrastructure was old and antiquated.
Like all of the readers of this review I do not like to be lied to and have my intelligence insulted which this Director did. I have taken up my case with hotels.com for a full refund.
