hi we were there 1 week ago.3 couples from colombia,s america.these is the best hotel ever stayed in my life...is expensive but is worth every penny..since the arrival they treated us like royalty.the flowers in the room ,the buttler,the fruits,every little detail.there is a lot of staff just waiting to help you in every little details.the food is excellent..i don´t have a single complaint would give a perfect 10..any questions just let me know..patricia v

For the money, this hotel is overrated and falls below european standards. Furniture in bedrooms is mediocre in quality, but common rooms have a grand appeal. The "butlers" are very rarely at their station, but will magically appear before your final exit from the hotel...for their tip. Door frames in some rooms are only 6' tall, so be forewarned. Morning buffet lacks extensive selection of hot foods.Really, it's a wannabe experience...not truly sophisticated, it makes a strained effort to impress.Oh, and the pictures of the pool are grossly distorted, it's just an oversized tub.Many other hotels in Buenos Aires provide better value.

My wife and I just returned from the Alvear and BA. It is without a doubt the best hotel and the best service of any place we have stayed in our world travels. Breakfast is served by white gloved waiters, but we did not feel anything but comfortable there. It is worth the extra money despite all the hotel deals in the city.

What can I say. Simply incredible service from the moment the driver picked me up at the airport until I was dropped off for my return flight home. Very expensive, but you get what you pay for unlike some expensive properties in the U.S. that do not even provide 1/2 the service that the Alvear provides. Every request was taken care of, including an early check-in at no additional charge and a late check-out whereby the hotel offered me a 1/2 price rate until I was ready to leave. Bar service and attentitiveness of staff rivals the finest hotels in Europe. The shower in my suite was incredible. Huge cavernous walk in marble shower with amazing water pressure and a fan inside this wonderful cave so that there was not too much steam buildup. Excellent location with nice restaurants, luxury shops (with amazing deals on Zegna, Armani close by) and the Recoleta cemetery all within a short walk. Very secure as well. Hotel staff is abundant and they keep an eye on their guests. Don't think twice about paying the higher than average rates at this property. Well worth it. Can't wait to go back.
