Clean room and comfortable beds (if you like firm matresses, which seem to be in short supply in AR). Sort of like a Motel 6 in an urban setting, but with better soundproofing, a restaurant/cafe, a noon checkout time, and a staff that spoke fluent English. Windows open to let in fresh air, but street noise made it prudent to use A/C.
We paid $27US a night, which was much less than any hotel in the area and the property beat the pants off of another 2-star we stayed at in BA (Hotel Hispano) that was close in price.
Only complaints are the time consuming checkout process (not like the US where they auto charge your CC) and breakfast isn't included in the nightly rate. Also, for biz folks, the lack of Internet access in rooms is pretty limiting. Not a ton of character - actually almost none - but if you need a place to stay in BA for a night or two, it's a good value and walking distance to top attractions and shopping.
