This property is your typical Marriott in a large foreign city--crawling with Americans (which may or may not be a bad thing depending on what you're looking for); always bustling, tourist-friendly, and a bit chaotic. The location is great for walking the Florida Street shopping district, if running the gauntlet among overzealous shopkeepers on the way to the lovely Galerias Pacificas Mall is your thing.

I especially appreciated the concierge staff who did a good job of arranging the requisite city tour and big-time tango show for my colleague who was a first-time visitor.

My biggest complaint was a ridiculously long wait for breakfast (room service and restaurant) on the weekend. I ended up having to skip breakfast before a day trip because I couldn't wait half an hour to begin my meal.

I would stay here again, but I have come to prefer smaller boutique hotels in BsAs, where I feel more immersed in the culture. When I stay at American chain hotels, I enjoy the convenience and ease of communication, but I sacrifice the experience of fully enjoying the locale.

When you book in a Mariott you always expect a great stay. However, this hotel is just 4-star OK hotel, but charging top dollar.

My room was clean and confortable. Hotel overall is pretty good looking and very well located (downtown Buenos Aires). Fitness Center is absolutely great.

Customer service though is not breathtaking. They are sometimes arrogant, distant and too often seem do not care about guests.

Internet service is not reliable and is painfully slow. When I was here, it was offline three evenings in a row. The swimming pool was not working (it was winter, they said...) during all my stay.

Bottom line is: you can get some similar service for much less. For instance, the Grand Boulevard Hotel.

PS: The main issue during my stay was related to security. One of my colleagues was mugged by a woman in his room and lobby staff were not able to catch her when she ran away, even after he warned them by phone. They did not notify the local police either, even having her name and document in their system.

I had already booked this hotel before I began reading some rather poor reviews on here and began to get a liitle worried that I'd made the wrong selection. I had booked a suite of rooms for my wife and me.

Well, whomever wrote those reviews must have resided there several years ago and before the hotel underwent major restoration, because the hotel was in great condition ( although obviously old ), our room was spacious and well furnished and the entire staff courteous, helpful and beyond reproach.

It is next to Florida Street , so the ladies will love the large array of shops, particularly leather goods.

Last May I have stayed at the Marriott Buenos Aires. The location was perfect, short cab distance to everywhere and walking distance to Pacifico Gallery. Cabs in Buenos Aires are really cheap so the location could not be better. The room was big enough, great furniture. What was unexpected was the terrible service. The laundry service was awful, staff was not polite at all and could barely speak English and the restaurante was far from what was expected. I had also a bad experience with the check, as they charged different values for the same breakfast.
The hotel is overall good, but below expectations as being a Marriott. For that budget I expected something much better.
