Great location downtown. Excellent shopping street just out the door and around the corner. Beautiful park across the street. In the center of port area (ferry to Colonia, Uraguay), Recoleta (art, parks & cemetary) and San Telmo (antiques). We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and the Bo Bo for 3 nights. Both were very nice but very different. Nothing feels better- after a day of sightseeing, shopping, eating and drinking- than pulling back the bedding and sinking into the comforting mattress of a Marriott.

Stayed for 3 nights on points and if we had paid for this hotel I would have been v unhappy. I would only reccomend staying here if you are using points, and if you have points with Hilton or Starwood I would pick the those hotels over this (we stayed at the Hilton for 1 night and visited the Sheraton at Plaza San Martin since we had friends staying there.)

If you are reading the Frommer's review for this hotel there are many errors - there is no indoor pool, no free city walking tour, b'fast is not included, and the bar that is supposed to be so great was not even open the times we tried to go. Location is v good, close to the subway and Calle Florida where there is a lot of shopping. Rooms are old and worn. I'm sure it was a beautiful hotel at one point but I did not feel like it was well-maintained. One day we left the room late around noon and when we returned at 6pm no one had come to clean our room! We had to call housekeeping and ask for the room to be cleaned. Shower drain was clogged and the tub became a bath, had to ask to get that fixed too. And when we asked the concierge to call a tour company in El Calafate to book a tour for us they directed me to the phones in the business center!

Vacationed in Buenos Aires in August 2007 and stayed at the Marriott Plaza for six nights. Hotel location was excellent -- right at the end of the busy pedestrian shopping district and within walking distance to the subway (which is cheap and relatively convenient).

Had a junior suite, which was spacious, comfortable and clean. Bathroom was very large with separate rooms for the sinks and shower/toilet, and there was plenty of storage space. Only downside of our particular room was the view, which was of the interior of the complex and not at all attractive.

With our junior suite we had access to the Executive Lounge, which was a nice perk. They had snacks and beverages throughout the day, and the service was excellent. The breakfast (also included in our reservation) was adequate though chaotic at times, as it was very crowded most mornings. They had the same fare every day, so after six days it got old, but it was convenient. It's a busy hotel, so the small lobby is usually chaotic, but we had no service problems.

There are nicer parts of Buenos Aires (Ricoleta is within walking distance and there are nice hotels in that district) but we have no regrets about staying at the Marriott. Would definitely stay there on a return trip to BA.

We were recommended the hotel by a friend for our honeymoon. When we got there we found it to be very centrally placed and the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We had told them it was our honeymoon in advance and they upgraded us to a huge, palatial suite. As can be expected, the room was amazing. The hotel also has the best cocktail bar that we have ever been in...real old world charm and service. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel.

It’s a great hotel, in a great location (Calle Florida).
Of course it’s not a modern hotel, but it is very, very comfortable (what a nice bed!), clean and with a very good service. It has a great breakfast and fair rates.
The room was not a very large one, but it was ok and reasonable.
It was a great stay (my wife, two little girls and I) and I would recommend this hotel. I’ll certainly be there again!
