“A Good location for Visitors”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days in February and, it was clean comfortable and well located within walking distance of the city core and some historical sites. WIFI for e-mail was free in the lobby using my i-pad, The atrium style restaurant had a good menu, not really expensive, and the meals were well done and enjoyable. The hotel arranged a city bus tour that was well woth the $ that visited most of the historical, architectural and other tourist sites of interest. An excursion to a supper club to see Tango dancing and the history of this Argentine highlight was very entertaining and again well worth th $. The staff were friendly and helpful with several minor problems.

Stayed there for a conference and I felt it is ideal for the purpose. Quite close to all attractions though we spent most of the time in the conference. Private breakfast & lunch were good and nutritious. Great wine bar and nice gym.

We started our holiday here and the staff behind the counter were just plain rude. We were part of a group of some 400 quests going on a cruise. We had our first night here. Breakfast was in the basement dining room. There were about 10 chairs hived around a table for 8. The buffet breakfast was below average, the only thing that helped his hotel was the rooms were good and free Internet in the public area

We stayed for 2 nights after a cruise. You can easily walk to the centre of town for tour buses etc. We had a super meal in the steak restaurant served by a charming an friendly waitress. We found the reception staff unhelpful and verging on being deliberately difficult. Otherwise an excellent stay.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights prior to boarding Celebrity Infinity for a cruise to Antarctica and the Falklands. We arrived on an overnight flight from Heathrow and had taken the option to pay £59 each for an early check-in. This might be considered an expensive luxury but many in our party had not done so and had to wait six hours until 4.00pm to check-in! The hotel has limited facilities, there is no pool or area to sunbathe. The only external seating comprises a few tables and chairs outside a side door, where many (smokers) congregated. The room was large, clean but dated, however it fitted the bill. We ate in the terrace grill on one occasion but the service was painfully slow as the area filled up. Clearly the chefs could not cope. The staff however were most helpful especially as we mislaid bag which was promptly placed in Reception for me to collect. Many of our group were victims of pick-pockets in the area, though we were fine and ate nearby at a street cafe. Helpfully there is Carrefour mini-market just around the corner which carries a good range of local wines, which we enjoyed.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Stayed here two nights on a pre- cruise package. We found that he lobby was large, light and airy. There was a bar/brasserie, a large lounge, and some outside tables, but seating was at a premium due to overcrowding with both arriving and departing cruise packages. The staff were superb despite being under stress. When the crowd has dissipated everything was superb.
Clientele seemed to be a mix of business persons, holiday makers and airline staff. We took one lunch in the brasserie- excellent food and service. Our room was as expected for a hotel of this quality. Comfortable and some, but not much internal plumbing noise.
The lifts had a mind of their own! And in busy periods there could be a considerable wait. But you get there eventually even if you have to 'yo-yo' up and down. No downsides to the hotel. Area looks a bit rundown.

Hotel is very conveniently situated for the Subte (3 lines within 3 blocks), Ave de Mayo ( 3 blocks), Plaza de Mayo ( 6 blocks). ATM across the road. Tortoni Coffee shop is 3 blocks away at which there is a nightly Tango show for 120 Peso). Free tour of Government offices in Plaza Mayo at Weekends.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors will afford better views (but might take longer in the lifts)
