“Palermo Overnight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

This hotel was a tremendous find - clean, modern, convenient with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were spacious with sliding glass doors overlooking a residential section of the city. The rooms had every convenience desired, including bottled water, and teas, U.S. surge protectors. Highly recommended.

My husband and I recently stayed 10 nights at Palermo Place and were so glad we booked our stay here (based on Tripadvisor reviews). We liked the quiet, safe neighborhood and that it is just a couple blocks away from excellent restaurants. The room was perfect for us - large with lots of storage, even with a large cupboard to tuck your suitcases away once unpacked, and very clean. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine from Argentina, along with cookies. Free water is provided daily. The beds were super comfortable. We slept through the night every night, probably helped also by all the walking we did! We took advantage of the kitchenette by making tea in the morning, storing cheese and crackers for snacks, and when one night we weren't able to face another huge meal, we made some pea soup purchased at the supermercado a block away. Wifi was free, readily accessible, and fast. I enjoyed having the socket at the desk for American appliances, although I might suggest a small mirror (either on the wall or as a vanity style mirror) as it was somewhat challenging to use my curling iron without being able to see what I was doing! Most of all, however, was the staff. The front desk is staffed 24/7 with friendly, attentive, English-speaking employees who are ready and willing to assist in every way. In particular, Soledad was extremely helpful in booking a dinner and tango show event that included transportation to and from the venue. They also arranged for our taxi to go to the airport at the end of our visit and the cost was billed to our room. That made it so much easier cor us, not having to plan ahead to have enough pesos on hand to pay formthe ride.

As noted above, the hotel is close to many cafes and restaurants frequented by Buenos Aires natives, and rightly so. We always felt safe walking in the neighborhood, no matter what the time. We will definitely stay here again on a return visit to BA and HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 601, which provided a great view on the street side of the hotel. Although we cou...

I can't say enough about this place. The service was outstanding, and really, this can all be attributed to their staff. Jorge, Florencia, Luciana, and Lula were some of the most interesting people to talk to. Their English is phenomenal as well considering most of Argentina only speaks Spanish.

If you get a chance, talk to them and you'll see what I am talking about. They are also more than happy to help make awesome recommendations on where to go and what to see.

Palermo place is in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires. Not as touristy as Recoleta, more known for good restaurants than sightseeing. The staff are extremely helpful, they let me check out a few hours late after a bout of nausea. Rooms are well furnished. Good tvs, beds and furniture. I was also impressed that they don't nickel and dime you at every possible instance, they give you free water and coin operated laundry on the top floor. Good value for money.

Room Tip: More of a local neighbourhood with good restaurants, if strictly sightseeing and dont want to take c...

awesome hotel. Great value in the best part of BA, and amazing staff. I would highly recommend to anyone going to BA. You are waling distance to great restaurants, simple walk to the park and sight seeing. They will also help you with all arrangements necessary for your day trips and so forth. The rooms are stylish and very clean.

I can't remember the last time a hotel took such amazing care of me. Whether in happy times like my birthday or under trying circumstances later on, the staff -- particularly Soledad and Paula -- ensured I was comfortable and happy with every detail. In fact, Palermo Place is great with details. Arranging taxi pick-ups from the airport, ensuring my room had fresh spring water everyday, ensuring guests had left the hotel before sending in Housekeeping, and providing lots of local resources for anything one could need (toiletries, food to order and deliver, Subte stops, etc) number among the multitude of ways I benefited from the staff's expertise and kindness. If you must go to Buenos Aires, you would be cheating yourself to if you stayed anywhere else.

Room Tip: If concerned with noise, a room higher up and too the back might work better for you.

We had an excellent 12 day stay at Palermo Place: everything, from the attentive service, spaciousness of our room, useful kitchenette (equipped with pots and pans), amenities (i.e. fitness room, coin operated laundry machines, Wi-Fi, and 7th floor terrace with a view of various BA neighbourhoods) made our trip to BA wonderful. The hotel's location is excellent: there is an incredible variety of restaurants, bars, cafes and panaderias (bakeries) within a few blocks (i.e. less than 5 minutes). While it's not in the centre of BA next to the some of the main tourist draws (ave Florida, place de Mayo, etc.), its Palermo Hollywood location is ideal for those seeking to spend a relaxing time in BA (and perhaps avoid some of the pollution that is quite present in the city centre). In any case, the Subte station (green line) is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel, allowing access to the city center within less than 30 minutes. We ended up walking pretty much everywhere right from the hotel, as we found it very safe in and around the surrounding areas: we particularly enjoyed Palermo Hollywood, Palermo Soho (which has a great mix of restaurants/cafes and boutiques), and Recolleta. There were also a number of parks in the area around the hotel, notably the botanical and japanese gardens: great for a walk after a cafe break. Lastly, I really can't emphasize enough how excellent the staff is at the hotel (they made our trip truly memorable), were there to answer any and all of our questions, were very detail oriented, and ensured that all was taken care of. In sum, the location, convenience/practicality of the rooms and amenities, and incredible service at Palermo Place is what really makes this hotel special: we will be coming back for sure!

Room Tip: Rooms 03 and 04, where we stayed, face the back: they are perhaps a bit quieter than the rooms facin...
