“Serena Hotel in Elegant BsAs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

It was wonderful to spend our last days in Bs As at this great design hotel in the beautiful and elegant Recoleta area. This is ideal for those who want luxury in their surroundings as well as when they step out of their front door. This is not a hotel that looks good and when you start using its facilities it falls apart. Care and money has been spent on this hotel; rooms and bathrooms are large and provide for all ones needs. Breakfast is very good and staff is friendly. We did not manage to use the spa/gym area or the lovely interior patio (due to our short stay) but both look superb and spacious (not a spa/miniture gym) and would definetely return to enjoy the hotel and these added luxuries. The location is one of the best in Bs As. This is a very comfortable hotel, modern, not 'fuddy duddy', but not for children! Excellent price/quality ratio.

This hotel is very like a small boutique 5 star. It's located in a lovely area, peaceful, quite, classy residential area yet close to bars restaurants etc. It is very tastefully decorated and laid out in all areas, including a lovely pool, gym & spa area which was a nice surprise given the size of the hotel. Staff were efficient but not in your face. We had an excellent restaurant recommendation from staff on reception. Good breakfast. Good bar man (thanks Maxi!). All in all, highly recommend.

We gonna be back for sure. Located in a very nice and upscale neigborhood Serena is a adult-only hotel. If you want- or like- being on spot, that definetely in not your hotel. For those looking a cool atmosphere, great service and privacy, that's the real deal. Serena is close to everthing you need, rests, wineries, sightseen spots (ie Recoleta) and bars (Danzón is 5 blocks away). Even the currency exchange rate at the desk is better than on street, its possible to exchange small amounts.

We stayed there, my wife and I, from June 6th till June 11. Very nicely decorated hotel, modern style but not boring. The Executive room we stayed in was a large one and with bath and shower. The bathroom was great as well as the bed itself. Extremely comfortable. The staff was ok, but nothing really outstanding. We had one minor problem which was in indication by a staff member to watch the Esquina Carlos Gardel Tango show, which was a waste of money (please see separate review on the place by this member).

The hotel location is very good and half a block from the nicest mall in town, Patio Bulrich Mall, with good stores, although pricey ones. Also, very easy to get a cab from and to the hotel.
Breakfast served at the hotel was good and although it did not have many options, was fulfilling or "good enough", so to speak.

Podolano´s hints: there´s a very good Cafe right in the corner of the hotel which serves very nices Empanadas at an affordable price. The restaurant next door to the hotel is also top-rated, though a bit expensive (but worth it).

Room Tip: Try to pick up a room not close to the elevator, as it can be a little noisy.

Serena Hotel in Buenos Aires has a wonderful staff that are all welcoming and eager to serve their guests. My husband and I recently stayed there on vacation. It was one of the nicest small boutique hotels that we've stayed. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the shower included a large overhead shower head. We had a room on he 4th floor facing the back courtyard, and it was very quiet. Complementary breakfast included plenty of choices, including yogurt, granola, sweet breads, toast, cheeses, and meats. We also had them make us eggs over easy one morning. The eggs were great! If the weather is nice, eat out on the courtyard. There is a beautiful water fountain, potted boxwoods, and comfortable sitting arrangements in the back courtyard for lounging. Again, the best part about this place was the service! Service! Plenty of nearby shops and restaurant in Recoletta neighborhood. We walked everywhere and felt safe, but stay mindful and aware.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the back courtyard away from the street.

Serena Hotel was our base in Buenos Aires as we travelled between other cities and BA. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. They welcome you with a glass of champagne that you can enjoy in the lounge/breakfast room or on the very zen outside terrace. The common area is a bit small, but very efficiently used.
Neighborhood is very convenient to the rest of BA and very safe.
