“Could be excellent, but annoying payment issues”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2012

Good location in downtown close to the obelisque, touristy shopping streets, tango-shows, restaurants and subway. Nice building and rooms. Good breakfast except from unusually bad coffe. Great view from the balcony (superior room) but we had to call the reception everytime we wantet the door to be opened or closed due to security issues (????).
We left several hours after check out but were still alloved to use the fitness room with shower and towels before leaving. Good service.
We booked the room on the hotels own web page and got a voucher stating it was prepayed, but when we checed in they told us we had to pay again because the prepayment online newer works. We booked the room 6 months in advance and couldn´t remember for sure if the money was withdrawn in advance or not. Unprofessional and annoying,

The NH tango is centrally located in the heart of buenos aires. I also found the staff to be very helpful and the premises is very clean. This is a good hotel for a night or 2 at most.. why ?.
To begin with, our room which was moderately large was dark .. very dark with dark brown walls and darker accents. There was absolutely NO storage space.. Not one drawer !. This would be unacceptable for a stay of over a day or so. The bathroom was basically a cube with dark ceramic walls. The accoustics are incredible. God forbid you pass gass in there. I'm sure the occupants 3 floors down would hear it. And following the theme of storage, there is minimal storage space in the shower and bathroom as well. (the sink is in and outside area). The beds were large and comfortable which is important, although I wouldn't call this a place to call home...
If you are travelling around south america and want a nice transitional place to stay, it is fine.. but i would go crazy if i had to spend more than an hour in the room.

The NH Tango is in the center of the action. It is located on 9 De Julio.. one of the widest streets in the world and near the Opera House and the leading pedestrian street. You can't find a better place to call home while visiting Buenos Aires. The staff was friendly and mostly helpful. The third floor restaurant had a nice breakfast with a friendly staff. The Tango Theater right next door offers some splendid dancing and nice dinner for a reasonable price.

My only problem with South American hotels is the late check in times that adhered to with an almost religious fervor. We arrived at Noon and had to leave our luggage and return three hours later to get into our room. It is just a hassle to walk around in your traveling clothes.

Buenos Aires is unique city. It is a blend of the old and the new. The city's infrastructure is a little worn from past economic woes but the country and the city are on the rise and everywhere you look things are being upgraded and renovated. The people are kind, helpful and there are a ton of things to see and do. We never felt unsafe and had no problem with crime or criminals. I am sure there are criminals around in every major city but if you are aware and stay in the busy areas you shouldn't have any problems. I would say the same about Los Angeles or New York.

We were there for several days and only scratched the surface of the city. Take a guided tour of the city when you first get there and use it to decide what you want to see. We took a private tour but bus tours, hop on and hop off buses and city tours are available. A private three hour tour by car only costs about $100 plus a tip. The city streets are crowded and I wouldn't rent a car unless you know your way around the city and how to avoid the traffic jams and some of the Argentine drivers.

The cafes and restaurants are great. The Argentine beef is delicious. If you can visit the old port area, do so, for some great dining. Buenos Aires is a great place to visit in the winter months in North America. We had 80 degree weather and sunshine in late January and early February.

Room Tip: In South America.. You can just ask.. If they can do it they will. If you are willing to pay a litt...

The room is not as big as it appears on the web, and the bathrooms walls are made of glasses. If you can handle this two problems, it's a very good option in the city centre. Good location, staff & services and very clean & modern rooms. Although it's in the core of the city, it's definitly not noisy (the rooms are surprisingly very quiet).

I was staying at the Hotel NH Tango in the last week of October. It is a very good hotel.
The staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are clean and look new. They're quiet too. The standard room has minibar and safe (fit a laptop). The bed is comfortable.
The location is central and close to the subway. It is also near the Calle Florida and Pacific Galleries.
Access to wireless Internet is paid, but the hotel offers 02 computers in the lobby with internet access at no cost.
The breakfast has fruits, breads (salty, sweet and multigrain) cereals, milk, coffee, teas, juices, eggs and sausage.

I stayed 8 days there on a business trip and traveled with my 2 months old baby. Everyone at the hotel tried to help me as much as they could. They even provided a baby bed and made the baby bed every day(along side the rest of the room).
Hosekeeping was great. Breakfast was really good, with fresh fruits, breakfast breads and all the fixings. Room was comfortable but not huge, I guess room size is "normal" according to European standards as Buenos Aires is very European. Beautifully decorated with modern accents.
