“One of the world's best small boutique hotel experiences”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

My wife and I stayed at Duque on 2 separate occasions in December 2012 and January 2013 and would rate both our vists as exceptional. It's an oasis in a big city and the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable from everything ranging from great suggestions for resturants, transport options around the city and helpful translations.
Rooms were excellent, the breakfast options more than we expected and the relaxation areas around the small pool courtyard and lounge room are a welcome option to get away from your room.
We have travelled extensively around the world and would rate this hotel amongst the very best small hotels we have experienced. It made our stay in BA all the more memorable.
Well done Duque!

Duque Hotel is a lovely boutique hotel with a friendly, helpful, English-fluent staff in the heart of Buenos Aires'. Everyone we encountered in the hotel was warm, friendly, and helpful. The deluxe room is a nice size with a boutique feel. What a charming area the breakfast is served in as well as the pool and lounge area. The guide that they recommended was wonderful. I don't know if we will ever be back in Buenos Aires, but if we do we will most certinely stay at Duque. It's one of my favorite hotels.

This hotel was lovely and had the best front desk staff we've ever dealt with. They were helpful, very courteous and pleasant. Breakfast was excellent also. We wished we could've stayed longer. We enjoyed the outside area as well.

Duque Hotel is exactly what you see here: A lovely boutique hotel with a friendly, helpful, English-fluent staff in the heart of Buenos Aires' loveliest neighborhood. Everyone we encountered in the hotel was warm, friendly, and helpful. The deluxe room is a nice size. The breakfast and pool are excellent. And if you love leafy green streets and architectural beauty, the location is tough to beat. We will be back to BA, and we will stay at Duque again.

After a long flight from London to BA (on BA!) and what seemed like an even longer taxi ride, we arrived at the Duque hotel. Greeted at the front desk by two of the most genuiely happy people I have ever met on a reception desk. Our room wasn't ready but they invited us to breakfast. You don't get most hotels doing that. This was a great introduction to their cafe/eatery area. There was no coffee facilities in the bedrooms iirc, but you could come down here 24/7 and get a far better one from the machine. As well as the lovely spread of food, eggs were available to order.

We managed to get a topcashback deal when booking so upgraded to the next tier of rooms. We didn't have a view but it was a very spacious room. The bed was very comfortable and both the room and shower area very clean. The only annoying thing was the windows overlooked a small courtyard and noise carried in the early moring. Well, early when you're on holidays.

Staff on reception saved us making the same mistake after our first experience when we dined at night at a nearby resturant on the main street. A few minutes walk away and down a side road is great area full of far more authentic places to eat and full of atomosphere. Thanks team! They also helped us choose a tango show to see (yes, touristy, but hey!)

The main street from the subway is ok, a bit run down, but if you walk one street back it all changes. Much nicer district! You aren't in the centre of town here, but after going to the centre on a Sunday when it was quiet and deserted I'm glad I was here. The train doesn't take long to get to the centre and I would stay here again. Far nicer than just a city chain hotel.

Great laundry service where my clothes came back folded like my mum used to! There is a lovely gym/spa area and a pool but we didn't get a change to use it.

Most impressive was on our last night when booking a very early mornign cab to the ariport they offered to have some breakfast ready for us. This was most appreciated and a lovely way to end the stay. All the staff were brilliant, from the front of house staff to the cleaners who even though they didn't speak English, still made you feel welcome.

Room Tip: Pay extra for the premium rooms! Worth it!

I stayed here before & after a tour. Staff were very attentive with excellent English (important if you have no Spanish). Really helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations and some local laundromat issues. Organised personal airport pick-ups & departures at reasonable prices. Happy to store a bag between stays while we did our 12 day tour. Rooms are clean & well designed; on the small side, but you get used to this real quick. Excellent breakfast with 24 hour coffee machine and run of lounge. Free wifi & computer lounge. Pool area could do with a bit of a tidy-up but a nice retreat from the heat. I stayed in three rooms, all a bit different but all good; comfortable beds & airco works well. Well located if you want to be in Palermo. Walking distance to subway, a major mall & a quaint neighbourhood shopping / bar restauant precinct. Laundromat 50m away.

Great staff make all the difference at this boutique hotel - extremely helpful with helping us figure out logistics, etc. The room was a bit small, but overall clean and nice (and a good value). We had a room facing the street, which had a small balcony and very low level of street noise.

We also enjoyed the outdoor space by the pool in the back - a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine after a long day.
