“Best steak we've ever had and great value to boot.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013 via mobile

This is the place to come to have your 'Argentinian steak' in Buenos Aires. It's full of locals (always a good sign) and cheap for the quality of the meal. We had a large sirloin, small tenderloin, large fries, salad, mineral water, and bottle of wine and our bill came to 283pesos.

Bear in mind that the English translation of the cuts isn't quite accurate. For example, 'Bife de Chorizo' is listed as baby beef and is actually sirloin and 'Bife de Lomo' is tenderloin but listed as sirloin. Not that it really matters it's all great!

“Great eating experience in San Telmo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

This restaurant gives an opportunity to eat in a place frequented by locals. The food is prepared an a Parilla...great to watch and the results are delicious. This is a very busy restaurant so be prepared to wait for a table if you have no reservation.

“Authenthic atmosphere, good food, not so great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

Midsized restaurant (maybe 20 to 30 tables), tucked away next to the "Parque Lezamas". For 180 pesos you get a huge portion of tasty fries, a mineral water, a glass of good wine and a juicy sirloin steak (lomo) of gargantuan proportions (at least 500 grams).
The service was not very friendly (maybe because I was a single male guest? Or maybe because that's almost the norm in BA?), but efficient. The chairs are also quite uncomfortable. The steak and the fries however were very good, the restaurant full of locals of all ages and classes, the atmosphere authentic and the menu had English "subtitles". I'd go again.

“Two good dinners!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

As we were staying a couple blocks away on Caseros Street, we ate here twice (repeated when some friends visited). As others have said, this is a traditional parilla. Old and cozy inside, waiters formally dressed and efficient. We had good salads, great steaks, and EXCELLENT fries both times we went. Steaks cooked perfectly a punto as per our requests. Would consider giving it 5 stars, but we had some trouble with our orders when we went back with our friends.
Of course we there early, but restaurant filled up (many locals) by 10. Our waiter the second eve seemed somewhat harried and confused. We felt like we were clear about our order (pointing on the menu, using the Spanish etc), but one of us still got the wrong cut and then had to wait for replacement. No problems with taking it off the bill etc. .
