“A wonderful respite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

This was simply a wonderful place to spend the last few days of our honeymoon. The room was so pretty, and the hot tub was big enough to hold two of us easily. It really did live up to its name as a calm place, impressive in the not-at-all-calm city of BA. The service was great. The cleaning service did accidentally throw away a bag with chocolates we'd bought and other food, but other than that and despite that I loved it, and would go back in an instant.

This is a very nice boutique hotel (an old buliding transformed into a small hotel) in downtown BA.The name is appropriate as it is a place to relax from the busy and noisy big apple of South America. The front desk staff is very friendly, with good advice and always ready to help if there are any issues. Breakfast was delicious and the staff in the cafe was very nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The only negative issue for this hotel is that maintenance should be improved (scratched floors, leaky toilets, etc).

Room Tip: My wife and I had a great time biking with their unusual bamboo bicycles and we got to see great pla...

This was our first experience in Buenos Aires; the staff was so very accommodating. As soon as we stepped into the hotel, they helped us arrange tours and recommended sights to see, restaurants and tango shows. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. If I had to mention a negative, it would be the small breakfast room on the first floor; however you can have room service delivered to the room at no extra charge! So they offer an alternative. We love the location, close to a lot of shopping and the downtown area of Buenos Aires. The area was very safe and we felt comfortable walking during the day and evening. We would definitely return to this city and stay at this hotel!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 8th floor facing the street and we heard no street noise at night. It was very qui...

We selected this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and were exceptionally pleased with the choice.
The room was very modern, spacious and very clean, and all the staff - reception, breakfast room and housekeeping - were friendly, welcoming and very helpful with maps, suggestions for visits and taxi bookings. It was a delight to stay here.

We just returned from three weeks in Argentina, and this was our favorite hotel from the entire trip.

If you're beginning or ending your trip to Argentina in Buenos Aires, the nice thing about this hotel is that it's like staying in a spa. If a long plane flight is in your near future or immediate past, having things in your room like a sauna, a whirlpool tub, and a towel heater is great. The staff also helped us book a massage the day after we arrived. And - having a delicious breakfast delivered to you every morning in your room is fantastic.

Part of why I loved this so much is I was five months pregnant. On a related note, if you are considering Argentina for a babymoon - you have 100% chosen the right destination. Pregnant ladies are treated like celebrities here. Think no waiting in any lines (seriously, even at airport security), constant chocolate intake, steak everywhere, and free medical care.

The other nice thing about this hotel is the location. It's within walking distance to many of the sights and the subte. We debated about staying here vs. Palermo, and ended up staying here in the beginning, and Palermo in the end. That worked out pretty perfectly.

Lastly, the staff were amazing. They went above and beyond pretty much every day. They answered all kinds of questions and helped us figure out all kinds of stuff (some normal, like restaurant reservations, and some really specific stuff - like when my husband got his heart set on finding a barber shop where he could get a shave with a straight razor).

This place is awesome. You should book it.

Casa Calma is situated very close to everything - museums & attractions as well as shopping and restaurants are all within walking distance, and it is a short cab ride (20 mins) from Palermo.

The rooms are beautiful, spacious and chic, with a small balcony (not big enough to sit, but you can stand there and watch the street!) and lots of greens hanging down, so you feel you have a green view instead of the street view. Windows block almost all noise out from the street, which is really lovely as it is a busy area.

The jacuzzi is a great touch instead of just a tub. Two people can sit comfortably in it, and after those long days of walking the city, this is just what you need!

We were very impressed by the friendliness and service from the girls there even before we arrived - they were so helpful in sorting out reservations and helping with suggestions.

The hotel itself is small, and the lobby- and breakfast areas are tiny. I suggest that you get your breakfast sent to your room (free of charge), where you can enjoy it better, as you feel like you are sitting on top of each other in the common area. We did not always get completely what we ordered, but it was a nice touch to be able to eat in your room without the normal extra charge.

The mini bar was OK stocked, but it was way to warm in there, so grabbing a bottle of champagne (and drinking it out of water glasses) was just not the same...

We had a great stay, and recommend this boutique hotel to couples who want to be close to everything, and do not mind to walk to get meals & drinks (only a few items on the room service, no meals).

First time in Buenos Aires and this hotel is a great place to have as a base to explore. Rooms are large and airy with a jacuzzi bath and hugely comfortable to help get over jet lag. Location is downtown and within walking distance of many main landmarks. Staff could not have been more helpful and gave great recommendations. Two great restaurants within 2 mins walk and good breakfasts. Would definitely stay again.
