“Fun and homely”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

I enjoyed my stay at Sabatico. There was a nice crowd, and it was easy to meet people. The location wasn't great - I wouldn't walk home there alone late at night. The room was a little cramped and the bathrooms were a bit shabby. But it was a homely atmosphere, the staff were nice, and the breakfast was good.

Breakfast here is excellent. Wireless is good, and bed was very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful (especially Mercedes!). It's pretty quiet. Only down sides for us were 1) it's definitely a young person's hostel (my husband and I are in our fifties) and 2) it's not very centrally located or close to a subway.

My stay at this hostel was kind of obligated, because my friends and I booked our previous hostel in Buenos Aires for only 2 nights and once we wanted to stay there, there were no rooms available for us all, so we started looking for places with similar prices around Palermo (the area we first stayed in and we completly fell in love with), but after seeing there were no similar places left, we were forced to move to Monsterrat - San Telmo and found the Sabático Hostel.
Yes, of course we were sad to leave our previous place and neighbourhood, but once we arrived, we could see we had chosen a great place to stay. Mercedes, the staff girl we talked to once we got there was sooo nice and helpful.
We had booked a private room for 3 people with bathroom and air conditionning. Mercedes took us there (it was probably the last room at the hostel) whilst she showed us all the basic areas. On the outside, it looks like a nice tiny hostel but it's very big!
Our room had every basic thing that a hotel / hostel can give for a private room: Nice clean bathroom, good matresses, clean room, a wardrobe, a good air conditionning system, etc. It had no tv but it didn't really matter. Breakfast was very complete, common areas were very nice and the neighbourhood was nothing like Palermo, but at least it was safe and close enough to movilisation and interesting areas.

Amongst the best hostels I've stayed at. Great, friendly staff who will go out of their way to help you. Clean rooms, with towels and good mattresses!!! Great terrace on the roof too. Close to everything by bus or taxi. Also the first time I've seen nearly everybody in a hostel slide all the tables together and all eat together. AND the best asardo in BA. Thanks guys!

I had the best time in Sabatico. Amazing breakfast, and Great atmosphere! Not a party hostel so you can still relax, but a lot of activities so you get the chance to meet new people. The staff and the owner were grate! I stayed for 2 weeks and I enjoyed them a lot! Special thanks to Bryan who showed us around the city and was a great friend and a great staff member! If you are looking for a nice, intimate place to have fun in Buenos and meet new people - this is it!

I like sabatico hostel a lot because in a short period you feel like being friends with the people who work there. It's a honest, authentic place where they really care about the guests, they actually help you with everything. They offer great activities like very jammie asado's and going to la bomba de tiempo! It was painfull to leave a home like this :-)

I stayed one night in this hostel and it was a nightmare for me. Very noisy, I couldn’t sleep all night. No AC and it was extremely hot. The staff very nice and helpful. The located a bit away from the city center. Is not my first choice in Ba As.

I think that to make such a review at least you should stay for more than one day. Its a petty that you stayed in a hot december day. our dorms dont have ac.we didnt say that anywhere! Regarding the noise, all the rooms are on the back, so that no noise from the common area can get to the rooms. Plus no buses go through mexico street. Plus no noice signs after 23hs in the hallways and night receptionist to take care of it...maybe you stayed in some other hostel...
