“A unique stay with a wonderful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2009

The people who run this hotel are what set it apart from the rest. The owners have made a commitment to provide guests with the best possible service. They will go to extremes to get whatever you need or desire. They spent hours getting the right tango lessons and transportation and tours for us. They went out of their way to get us reservations at the busiest restaurants. They hotel is unique and new. Every room is a delight in its own way. We stayed in three different rooms, from the most expensive with hot tub for two and a balcony over the street to the cheapest, and they all were delightful. The neighborhood is wonderful for walking and boutique shopping, eating and clubbing, and center city is less than a 20-peso cab ride (about $5). When one customer asked if they could furnish eggs and bacon in addition to the usual breakfast fare, the owners rushed right out and put together the best scrambled eggs and crisp bacon we had on the entire trip. How many hotel owners walk you to the street, give you a parting gift and kiss you goodbye? These did. Nuff said. I would suggest you set aside time to visit the botanical garden and zoo, which are a 10-minute walk away, if you want a leisurely day in Buenos Aires. You can use the computer any time you need it, just ask.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Blue Soho. Not only is it in a fantastic part of town but the hotel is just as you would expect a new boutique hotel to be - stylish, fresh, very comfortable... and with expectionally friendly owners also.

I would happily recommend it to anyone!

  • Liked — The room was very comfortable, great shower and aircon
  • Disliked — The softness of the sheets and duvet cover

Location and design suberb, some problems with noise and light.

This is a former hostel turned recently into trendy boutique hotel. Its location is excellent if you want to visit the trendy shops, cafés and restaurants of Palermo Soho. The design of the hotel is also trendy, mixing various details. Some staff is very friendly, others not so helpful.

The rooms are nicely and individually decorated, not very big but contain the basic necessary stuff. You can have breakfast (toast with ham, cheese, marmelade, etc. , fresh orange juice, yoghurt, tea, cafe, with asking also maté) from early morning to afternoon as you wish.

The major and a possible real problem is noise from inside the hotel. The doors do not keep the noise outside so you hear everything what happens in the corridor, the ventilation machine noise may interrupt your sleep as well. Also, quite much light enters to room from corridor so if you are sensitive, this is a problem. Small details do not function such as yacuzzi in the bath and the overall water pressure is low. So far the terrace is poor and beware the broken stairs leading to it.

  • Liked — Location
  • Disliked — Noise from inside the hotel, too much light in rooms in the night

We just spent 4 nights at the Blue Soho Hotel (after a 5 week whirlwind South American adventure) and were very pleased with the location, decor and especially the level of service. The hotel is in a fantastic location in Palmero Soho, and is surrounded by shops and boutiques and cafes (most of which only operate during business hours, so it is very peaceful at night). Most of the staff (esp. the the owner) was extremely helpful, spoke excellent english and had heaps of great reccomendations for things to do and see.
The rooms were very clean, and modern (we stayed in the 'urban suite') which were tastefully decorated. The hotel itself is very light and airy with a lot of natural light. We would also highly reccomend Marks Deli & Cafe which is about 3 doors up from the hotel for truly excellent coffee and food.

  • Liked — Service, location.
  • Disliked — Stairs only (bit of a challenge for those with too much luggage), shower water pressure wasn't great, access to the hotel requires you to be let in - on occasion you had to wait to be let in.

We have just returned from 5 nights at The Blue Soho in Buenos Aires. The Blue Soho is a brand new Boutique Hotel in the heart of Palermo Soho. It is a beautiful hotel and really is in the perfect location, close to great shopping, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We were able to walk nearly everywhere. The owners and staff are very kind and extremely helpful and most of them speak English. The rooms are lovely. We stayed in the Oriental Suite and found the room to be very comfortable, clean and well appointed. We were honoured to be the first guests of the hotel. We actually have invoice 0001! We would highly recommend staying at the Blue Soho and would definitely stay there again.

  • Liked — The kind staff, great rooms and location!!!
  • Disliked — Nothing!
