Fantastic b and b with real character. A beautiful 1900s Italian home with original features which has been renovated so that staying there means you also have the facilities of the twenty-first century. Such homes are no doubt found elsewhere in Buenos Aires but it is rare that you can visit them and or see one that has been so well restored, My bedroom was very comfortable and the under floor heating in the bathroom was great during the Argentinean winter. On quiet street with easy access to atmospheric San Telmo, with shops, markets and nightlife. Extremely hospitable host who was more than helpful at any given point - lending local currency for things like taxis, providing local knowledge and offering mobile phones to mention a few. Great stay.

What a beautiful b&b. Our bedroom was divine with the most beautiful bathroom I've ever seen. The hostess was very accommodating, fresh flowers in our room, an argentinian mobile to use out and about in town, an english language newspaper every morning. While we were there the other guests had their bags stolen and Pamela, the hostess, seemed to be doing everything possible to help them out, I felt totally reassured staying there. All the positive comments made before are true and I couldn't have asked for a more fantastic b&b. My only criticism would be that, because it is winter, breakfast is served in the communal room (which is very cosy, full of books, with internet access and a free phone to call Europe and the US) and therefore is a little cramped and not very private when there are other guests. Pamela has, however, already realised this problem and is currently decorating the converted chapel in her home into a breakfast room so this shouldn't be a problem in the future. Highly recommeded!

THE GARDEN B&B was such a fantastic place to stay. I cant recommend it highly enough. Our room was so beautiful, we felt transported to another place. Every morning we woke up to a delicious breakfast and an enjoyable chat with our very generous and helpful host Pamela. The service was excellent, the food divine and we can only hope we go back again one day soon. LIZ AND DAVID, Auckland NZ

I have hesitated to review this place until i had time to compare with others we stayed in and had time to rethink values.
The Garden is wonderfully appointed for looking around Buenos Aires and very easy to find. Hostess was very accomodating, friendly without being over the top and explained everything to us that we needed to know. The rooms were ready for us and beautifully furnished for a B/B. Quirky but interesting decor. Lovely touches re handmade soap in each room and fresh flowers in the vase. She has made every effort to be the high end of B/B accomodation and the furnishing reflect that.
We have stayed in quite a few B/B's this past 6 week holiday and this was the most expensive one we paid for. Had no problem with that as we knew what we had booked.
However, this is where I have to add a few negatives in comparison with the other B/B's we stayed in, in Argentina.
Front entrance was really rundown and first impressions needed to be good.
My main gripe I suppose was the breakfast. For the money charged, to be given a small bowl of fruit salad, muslie if needed was available, two pieces of toast, cake and a pot of coffee was well on the side of mean.Beautifully presented in the courtyard outside the bedroom but compared to other B/B's we stayed in in BA, this was the meanest breakfast we were given. All the other B/B's we stayed in included ham, cheese and croissants etc.
One other small point was, no top sheet with the duet, so if one needed cooler bed covers, we couldn't, get rid of the duvet and use just a sheet.
Overall, an interesting place, but not value for money. There are other places that are better value and just as nice.

Myself & My husband stayed at the Garden twice in Jan 09. Everything from making the initial reservation to getting dropped to the airport was smooth & efficient. Pamela has a beautiful home in the San Telmo area. Our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated...breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Great additional touches such as fresh flowers in the room, a newspaper at breakfast, guidebooks & maps available to borrow.
Pamela will organise airport transfers for you which is a welcome addition when arriving in a new city. Everyone at the Garden is very helpful.
BA is a beautiful city and the Garden is in a great location to enjoy this city.
