We stayed at El Edificio de los Pavos Reales for a total of 6 nights. Our initial request was for 4 nights. We e-mailed the owners on short notice asking whether they could accommodate us for 2 additional nights and they obliged. The owner was candid about a house party they would be hosting since we would be arriving earlier and he was kind enough to give us a discount. I thought that was very nice of them.
We had access to six rooms (including a dining room, living room and a patio on an inside open air courtyard) and they were all beautifully decorated and spotless. We took pictures of them but photos will not give this B&B total justice. Beautiful hardwood floors, classic high ceiling, elegant antique furniture and a cosy little loft above a cute reading room (which can transform into a second sleeping area). The street below the bedroom was a little noisy at night but Buenos Aires is very noisy no matter where you go.
The breakfasts the owner prepared for us were fantastic. Fresh fruit, pastries and much more. I think the nicest attribute to this B&B are the owners. Their knowledge of the city, the surrounding areas, and the general history of the country was remarkable. Kevin was very helpful in arranging the scheduling of a couple of tourist events for us and that was very well appreciated. We were recommended excellent restaurants, especially Las Violetas. This restaurant is a must, as much for the food, the historic decor with stained glass windows and tall columns, as for the waiters' professionalism, and extremely well priced.
