My wife and I stayed for a week at this marvelous place, which we chose because of the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor, and it lived up to all the advance notice.

James spared no expense in creating a beautiful boutique hotel. the attention to detail in the architecture (beveled glass in every window, extravagant hardware, tile, polished wood floors, lovely eating space and patio with elaborate breakfast choices and dinner served Thursday through Saturday, and really comfortable beds). Room 6, Loft 2, in the back, was dead quiet for a great night sleep.

Perhaps more importantly, James and his staff really helped make the stay even more enjoyable with their hospitality and recommendations. Be sure to catch a dinner one half block away at La Lechuza, a family run hole in the wall with a fine gritty atmosphere and the most amazing roast chicken and potatoes dishes. The Palermo Soho neighborhood has wonderful shopping at fine boutiques, but be sure to visit the Plaza Cortazar (Serrano) Market on the weekends. It's a fun Palermo mini version of the famous San Telmo Sunday Flea Market (which is not to be missed). Other restaurants within walking distance from the hotel and well worth the walk include, Sa Giara for great Sardinia food, Juan Julio Parrilla for excellent meat dishes, Xalapa has fine Mexican food.

As you walk the streets keep a vigilant eye out for the ever present dog poop. BA should follow New York in addressing this issue. Other sights we enjoyed include Historic Cafe Tortoni near Plaza de Mayo, the elaborate palace Museo Del Arte Decorative currently with an extensive Rodin exhibit, The interesting Evita Museum, and the Recoleta Cemetary, an unbelievable collection of grand architectural styles and stray cats.

Go to the Carlos Gardel tango show. For 600 pesos (tip 60 pesos) you great a fine meal in a beatutiful dinner theater and a really entertaining show.

We had to cut our vacation short to escape Hurricane Ike, our flight to Houston was uneventful, but we got the last two seats out of town before they shut down the airport.

So, we shall return, and stay only at the Miravida Soho Hotel

We stayed at this hotel for the last two days of our seven day honeymoon in Buenos Aires, and wished that we had stayed longer. Jim and his staff were friendly and helpful, even before we arrived, offering advice and information regarding Buenos Aires and Argentina via e-mail.

Our room was the terrace loft. It was good sized, and had french doors opening to its own terrace on the street side of the hotel. Everything was clean and new, and the bed was very comfortable. A unique feature of our room that we really enjoyed was the oversized shower.

The hotel itself was both modern and warm. It is in a great part of town, in Palermo Soho, near all of the boutiques and restaurants. There is a cozy restaurant/vinoteco on the main floor 4 or 5 table inside, and additional tables outside on the terrace (where there is also a gas fireplace).

We only at breakfast in the restaurant, as it was closed the first night, and Jim made reservations for us at La Cabrera the second night. However, we did take advantage of the wine selection before and after dinner, which brings me to one of my favorite parts of this hotel. The restauran/vinoteca has a very relaxed and inviting feel, and because of this, we spent many of our night (before and after dinner) talking with Jim, the staff and/or other guests over a glass of wine.

Finally, I think it is important to note that breakfast is included, which is an actual full breakfast off the menu, and is very good.

Reading over my review, I feel like I am writing an advertisement for the place. However, I stayed there based on the Tripadvisor reviews, I was not dissappointed, so I feel like I should contribute to the good buzz the Miravida is getting.

We stayed at the Miravida in Palermo, Buenos Aires for six nights in one of the Courtyard Loft rooms. The staff had been extremely helpful even prior to staying, by sending us information and reserving restaurants. This continued for the duration of our stay. Jim (who owns the hotel), is a lovely man, who is more than happy to share his local knowledge and chat about the area. He ensures that your stay is as comfortable as it possibly can be and has picked a great team of staff to work there.

Our room was lovely and was always cleaned beautifully. Even though we were next to the lift, it wasn't noisy at all and we felt very relaxed there.

The breakfasts were fantastic and really high quality as BA hotels aren't known for their great breakfasts.

We would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again. It is in a great location in Palermo, near some of the best restaurants and bars.

We had a great stay at Miravida Soho. Jim and his staff were wonderful. It was especially nice having an English-speaking host to help us plan our excursions and restaurant selections. His patience in answering our many questions was much appreciated. The hotel's location just blocks from the center of Palermo Soho is also ideal.

Our room was a bit small, but this didn't matter as our free time was spent downstairs mingling with the friendly staff and enjoying the comfortable lobby and restaurant. They have an impressive array of wines and resident sommelier Nigel will pick just the right type for your palette. The breakfast menu, especially the yogurt parfait, is also exceptional (as are the Cappuccinos!).

You won't be disappointed.

What can I say about our stay at Miravida?? just excellent. we were 5 friends from Italy and we arrived in Buenos Aires during the days of the burns in April....so you can imagine what atmosphere we have found in the city. Then, we arrived at Miravida and we immediately felt in love with the place, James and all the staff. I believe that we were one of the first guests because Miravida opened few weeks before. After Buenos Aires we went to Patagonia for 10 days and on our way back to Italy we stopped again in Buenos Aires for one night and we were so happy to go back to Miravida. It is true that the rooms were still in progess, furnitures were missing and the service sometimes was a little slow, but the week after we found great improvements. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of people and the place, very easy but professional. We would suggest this place to our friends.
