i stayed at tmh for a week with and had a great experience. the rooms are modern, clean, the beds are super comfy and you have everything you would need - including a mac mini and free international calling.
the entire tmh family is extremely helpful and friendly and the only resource you need to have a good time in ba. my bf and i were treated very well our entire stay. i highly recommend this place if you are looking for a boutique hotel with friendly and knowledgeable staff for the touristy and non-touristy ba experience.
i also liked las canitas because it was close enough to everything without being in the center of everything. the area has great bars and restaurants right around the hotel.

thanks tmh for a rad time! ;)

This hotel is a class act! It is small, exquisitely decorated, has all the technology needed available both for the business as well as the pleasure visitor. Service is superb. With internet, snacks, soft drinks, and evening wine tastings included, you get the feeling that the staff is there to please you and make your stay wonderful. Definitely worth visiting. Walking distance to awsome restaurants and shopping.

I don't know how they can do it. The 5 room Tailor Made Hotel has more staff than rooms and all of the staff from owners to front desk to housekeeping couldn't be more accommodating to the guests. The rooms are as shown on the website with comfortable beds, flat screen tv, mini-mac computers, and voip telephones so you can call anywhere for no charge. My only recommendations for change would be to ditch the black soap (black may be in, but black soap suds just didn't do it for us) and add an additional trash receptacle for the bedroom since the itty bitty one in the bath was itty bitty.

The open view of Las Canitas in the lobby/breakfast area was a great way to start the day and view the neighborhood as people went about their daily business. The 24/7 coffee/expresso/cappuchino maker made us frequent lobby visitors. The Las Canitas area is happening and safe and and loaded with super restaurants and happening bars. The Las Canitas area is readily accessible to downtown BA by cab, train, or subway and if you really like to walk, Recoleta and Palmero can be reached by hiking under one hour. The walk to the Cemetary takes you past some beautiful parks and the lovely Japonese Gardens.

I recently stayed at Tailor Made with two friends. We had a room with one large queen bed and room with two doubles (all really comfortable), both facing the courtyard. The hotel was amazing. It was small but the rooms had everything you needed and the staff was so helpful. Manuel and the others there were more than happy to help before and during our stay, arranging reservations at all the good restaurants, providing suggestions for where to go in BA, booking our ferry to Uruguay, and even recommending things to do while we were in Uruguay.

The coffee and breakfast provided every morning was great (the brownies were the best). Wine was also offered in the afternoon- all for free! I also loved the free calls to the states and the free internet. It was so nice to not wonder how much every little thing would cost you. I also preferred the neighborhood around the hotel to that in neighboring Palermo. There were plenty of nice restaurants within a block, some shops but it was still quiet. Altogether it was a great experience and I truly hope to visit again.

My wife and I recently spent five nights in Buenos Aires. After checking the reviews here, we decided on Tailor Made Hotel. It was probably the best decision we could have made, and the hotel was exactly what we were expecting, making our trip to Buenos Aires much more fun than it might have been otherwise. Much of what makes Tailor Made Hotel so great is its small size: it only has five rooms and is staffed by what appeared to be four or five people, all of whom we got to know over our trip.

The design is modern without being pretentious. The neighborhood (Las Canitas) can be noisy on weekend nights, so you might want to request a room that does not face the street. Two amenities are worth separate mention, as they are brilliantly conceived and without a doubt the most useful freebies we have ever received with the price of a hotel room. First, each room comes equipped with its own iMac that transforms the flat panel television into a computer--with free broadband internet access. As you can imagine, this makes researching restaurants or neighborhoods very easy. The second inspired amenity is the ability to make free VoIP phone calls to the USA and several other countries. While being half a world away is great, it is also a lot of fun to be able to call your friends and family to let them know what you've been experiencing--all without paying a cent extra.

The truly distinguishing thing about Tailor Made Hotel, however, is the level of enthusiasm and individualized service provided by the staff. Both Loli and Manuel were always happy to make suggestions for restaurants or activities that cut through the typical guide book offerings and trended more toward an authentically local feel. Having made no definite plans for food or entertainment before arriving, we followed several of the staff's recommendations--and all of them were wonderful. They even helped us plan the next phase of our trip in Uruguay. In fact, we relied on the hotel staff for virtually every phase of our stay in Buenos Aires, from arranging transport from the airport and booking dinner reservations, to helping us purchase our ferry tickets to Uruguay.

The hotel offers several add-on options, including private tango lessons. We chose a guided tour around the city. One of the staff members, Manuel, took us on an amazing trip around several parts of the city using public transportation, which afforded us a real view of the day-to-day atmosphere of the city and its inhabitants. Before the tour, Manuel was careful to talk to us in detail about what we were planning to do on our own, so that he would make sure not to duplicate anything we would see on another day.

All in all, if and when we return to Buenos Aires, Tailor Made Hotel will be at the top of our list of places to stay while there.
