This small boutique hotel is in a great location in San Telmo; it’s best for antique buffs and tango aficionados. It is central to one of the best beef restaurants in Buenos Aires (La Brigada) and situated blocks from the multitude of antique shops and markets. It’s convenient, of course, for the Sunday antique fair . The closest subway stop is several blocks away and it’s easy to get a taxi. There is an excellent bakery north/north-west; unfortunately we forgot the street. Just stop into every bakery you see = ). You should also stop into the hat shop on Defensa.
The bathrooms are clean enough (although the shower curtain was a bit dingy); the room is fine for sleeping although we questioned the cleanliness of the bedspread. The room is small, a bit dark and looks on to an interior courtyard (essentially, no view unless you count looking into other guests’ rooms!). Other than location, though, there isn’t much else to offer.
