“Touch of serenity in a bustling metropolis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

I had the most wonderful stay while at Lola House in BA. Was a delightful place, very bright and colourfully and beautifully decorated, rooms were immaculate and bathrooms very clean. Was only a small hotel, had a lot of character to it. Staff were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to provide a welcome and enjoyable stay. Most staff spoke English, one very lovely lady (I forget her name) only spoke Spanish but nevertheless tried her best to help us in our very basic Spanish! Breakfast was great, lots of yummy treats. Location was a little far away from central BA but still in a lively district with many shops and restaurants around, always felt safe. Very close to a metro station, only about 10 minute ride to central BA. Overall a fabulous stay, would definitely recommend!! Good value too.

Room Tip: The rooms upstairs were quite nice and airy, had the advantage of a balcony

I made a reservation with them for October (6 nights) and they confirmed, everything ok. Some weeks later I get an email saying that my reservation was cancelled! Apparently the hotel decided to cancel my reservation with no explanation whatsoever!
Anyone can take a reservation, the important thing is holding the reservation! otherwise why would we bother.

My suspicion is they were extremely sneaky about and they offered a good price months in advance. When they saw they have enough requests they decided to be totally unprofessional and cancel mine and offer it to someone offering a higher price. This is, at least where i come from, stealing. Because when i made the reservation there were plenty hotels offering good prices, now not so many.

it appears they live well out of their fame. Don't book if you want to be sure you have a room to stay in!

As with the other reviews, this is a lovely place to stay. The girls working there are so helpful. Clara did an amazing job of organising our transport to Uruguay, where we had booked accommodation in Colonia and Montevideo. The area is interesting with a couple of great bars/restaurants and a really good tango show just 5 minutes' walk away. The Underground is really close and we used it quite a bit and it's really cheap. We stayed 5 nights and then 3 nights in Palermo. If you have enough time, it's good to start in those 2 areas, as they are very different. If I only had a short time, I probably wouldn't stay in Boedo, just because there are other areas where you can walk to sites, rather than relying on transport. The other little negative with the area is there aren't a large number of restaurants, so if you just want to go out at night for a quick meal, your choices are limited, but admittedly we were happy to go to a couple of our favourites more than once and it was great to be in an authentic area, rather than a touristy spot.

Everything about the Lola House was great. We were delayed a couple of days on our arrival and they were so accommodating, changing our booking and our transportation for us......no problem. We were there with friends and were able to get courtyard rooms we had asked for and the courtyard turned out to be a great meet and greet place. The girls were all so helpful with anything we needed to know and would always stop to chat when their time allowed. Breakfasts were great with your choice of egg (made fresh) cereals, breads, fruit, coffee &tea. Breakfast room was open all the time for water, coffee & tea on a self-serve basis.
This is not a luxourious hotel, but a wonderful neighborhood B & B type accommodation, within walking of restaurants, across from a small grocery market and close to the underground metro.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms are a bit larger.......all rooms are facing center area so is quiet in the evening.

My husband and I and another couple have just returned home after three lovely weeks in South America. We began and ended our vacation at Lola House and I have only good things to say about this lovely little boutique hotel... The staff are just the best, so helpful and pleasant at all times and every request is handled with the loveliest smile. They efficiently coordinated a number of airport pickups. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were great. A small hotel with a big heart, close to the metro. Warmly recommended.

I recently stayed at Lola House for 5 days whilst I explored Buenos Aires. Both Sophie and Andrea were very helpful with advice and assisted me with some tour bookings. The breakfast was great and the room clean and confortable without breaking my budget. I would certainly stay here again....

yes, It is not a five star hotel, and it is not meant to be. It doesn't have the best room in the world, neither has the best location in the world. However, it has the best owners in the world. One of the owners, Lidia, makes you feel like you going back home whenever you finish a long tiring day of sightseeing or other activities. She takes care of you like your mom would, if not better. To start you day in Buenos Aires, she would personally make sure that you are full after a hearty breakfast, she even asks you to take extra food for lunch and makes sure that you will not be hungry. Then she would sit down with you, and recommend where to go and what to do in Buenos Aires; plan out the whole itinerary for you for no matter how many days you stay in Buenos Aires. She would also help you with any bookings of shows or transportation if you have any problem with it. Her passionate services for her customers are out of this world. Her staffs are also extremely and equally helpful. They makes me realize that the best hotel in the world is the hotel that makes you feel like home. Lidia, if you ever read this - "Muchas Gracias por todo e muchas gracias por cuidar de nosotros en buenos aires, me gustaría visitarle otra vez"... my travel blog t4traveler in blogspot have more details of my trip....
