Lola House is a nice small hotel made from an old colonial home in Buenos Aires. It is in the Boedo Barrio, two blocks from the subway station (Boedo). It takes about 15 min. to get to the main part of the city on the subway and about 40 Argentinian pesos by taxi. The hotel is completely secure since you are are admitted and exit the hotel by staff unlocking the front door. The rooms have high ceilings in the colonial style (which helps in warm weather). The beds are very comfortable (king is the size of two twins). There is an overhead fan and the AC works very well. The room's bathroom had a shower and good lighting, which is hard to come by in some hotels. The staff was truly exceptional. Two young women, Andrea and Clara, tell you everything about touring the city with maps, brochures, tips and advice about restaurants, etc. They are both very good English speakers. They told us of a really good place for a casual dinner and drinks which had outdoor seating (Pan y Arte); they recommended the meat empanadas, which did not disappoint. They arranged for a car service which met us at the airport upon arrival and took us to the airport when we left. All the hotel staff was the best for us.
