Been going to Yalikavak for ten years and have stayed at many local Hotels.

The Windmill Hotel is very comfortable but is not and neither pretends to be, anything than a 2/3 star style hotel;staff and management are extremely helpful and friendly. This is a traditional style Turkish property and should be enjoyed as such.bIt is conveniently situated on level ground close to beach, facilities and village centre. I have enjoyed staying here on several occasions and will visit again in 2006.

“Going back Again”

Windmill Otel

Have been to Yalikavak for the past 6 summer holidays, four times of which was spent at the Windmill Hotel and there is a group of 16 of us going back in June 2006 - all return visitors.

The hotel has had new owners for the last two summers and they have made some nice improvements.

The hotel is down a side road 1 minute walk from the beach and 3-5 minutes depending on how fast you walk from the main shops, restaurants and harbour (great boat trips). The hotel is very private but you dont feel isolated.

The rooms are set around the pool and this is one of the best features of the hotel, although not the largest of pools the hotel only accommodates approx 35 people max so it never feels crowded.

Hotel rooms overlook the pool or back onto the hotel behind, I prefer these rooms - they dont get the morning sun so it is easier to sleep in.

My only negative comment would be that the stairs to the upper rooms are made of stone/concrete and are not the best after a few beers or if you have trouble with your legs.

“Dirty Rooms at the Windmill”

Windmill Otel

We stayed in the Windmill Rooms of the Windmill Hotel in middle of October and found them to be dirty. The only clean things in the rooms were the sheets. There was thick dust on the light fittings on top of the fridge in the corners of the rooms, hair (not ours) stuck in the outlet of the shower, no beer in the bar, oh and nail clippings on the carpet beside the bed.

We stayed at the Windmill Otel in Yalikavak right at the end of the season, last week in October.

The staff were very friendly and service was prompt, although stocks (at the bar)were running low.
We stayed in a windmill shaped apartment on two floors, wch was very clean and very comfortably appointed. The rooms were around a small pool, and there were plenty of sunbeds.
Breakfast was served outside by the pool too.

The otel was 50metres from the sea front and 100m from the shopping bazaar area of the town, in an ideal location.

We enjoyed our stay there.
