Have been to Yalikavak for the past 6 summer holidays, four times of which was spent at the Windmill Hotel and there is a group of 16 of us going back in June 2006 - all return visitors.
The hotel has had new owners for the last two summers and they have made some nice improvements.
The hotel is down a side road 1 minute walk from the beach and 3-5 minutes depending on how fast you walk from the main shops, restaurants and harbour (great boat trips). The hotel is very private but you dont feel isolated.
The rooms are set around the pool and this is one of the best features of the hotel, although not the largest of pools the hotel only accommodates approx 35 people max so it never feels crowded.
Hotel rooms overlook the pool or back onto the hotel behind, I prefer these rooms - they dont get the morning sun so it is easier to sleep in.
My only negative comment would be that the stairs to the upper rooms are made of stone/concrete and are not the best after a few beers or if you have trouble with your legs.
