“Worst holiday I have ever had !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2007

Worse holiday i have ever had. !!!
This is the worst holiday I have ever had and never encountered such rude staff at a holiday resort before.
The food is absolutely awful and you are likely to have a case of Deli Belly although in Turkey, I have had mine now for the last three weeks with no sign of it going back where it came from.
Food is the same daily, breakfast with eggs and sausage and veg mix, cold meats, jam, bread and salad; lunch, soup ( different colours but the same flavour) rice or pasta and casserole withsome kind of veg , not sure what kind as was unable to identify them,;dinner yet again was soup, different colour, rice or pasta, casserole and unidentified veg. Make sure you run for your puds as only 12 served for a hotel that caters for about 120 peeps, come to think of it don't run they're not worth it , as either rice pudding or choc mousse, then you have snack time which is burger and chips daily, every day all the time no change there either and the great cakes and coffee at tea time where you only get cakes once a fortnight and coffee is kak.
The all-inclusive bar closes at eleven but make sure you get there early as they won't serve you at 22.55 either , then all drinks must be paid for at 5 lira a time.
The rooms are never cleaned and was given a clean top sheet in the whole fornight, no bottom sheets or pillowcase were given at this time, towels are usually thrown from the door.
The pool is very nice although no covers are on the vents.
Be prepared to go to bed at between 11-12 pm if you are British otherwise you will be told the police are coming, it's ok if you are Turkish and know the owner or staff you can party to when you like then, not that there is any entertainment any evening mind unless you like Turkish pop cd's.
Looked for the health suite all two weeks i was there but never found it and the mini market was empty and closed, although all inclusive you will also have to pay £4 an hour to play on the pool table.
Yalikavak and Bodrum are lovely and the people are great, just seems to be the hotel staff that are trained in being rude and pretending they speak no English.........Don't be fooled they do and very well too !

We knew when we were the only people collected at the airport that we might have made a mistake. Our guide didn't speak any english and it took us 2 hours to get there as he couldn't find the hotel!!
The pool and weather were the only good things about this hotel. Staff unbelievably rude and unhelpful, they only spoke english when it suited them.
DO NOT expect entertainment.
All you get is turkish music at full volume while the bar is open. Free drinks finish at 11pm - but you wont get served at 10:55 and maybe not even then if they have run out of glasses again!
The food is diabolical. Breakfast is the same every day.If you are lucky you might have 3 hot !! dishes and salad.
You get soup lunchtime + dinnertime .The soup tastes the same even though it is a different colour - at least it is edible. We ate so much bread, a loaf at a time, because we were not filled up by the salad that was the main course. Again you get 3 hot (lukewarm)dishes which were quite difficult to decide what they were.
The rooms were adequate. The rooms were cleaned daily around about 6pm by lazy turkish men who might make your bed or not as the mood took them! You got hot water sometimes. It was hit and miss. We seemed to get it evenings only but friends got it in the morning and evening- lucky devils.
Basically for the price we paid we got our monies worth. But we will NOT return

the hotel looks nice and it was mostly clean. the baby pool did not have a cover over the drain and cracked tiles inside. There is no entertainment at all, no laundry, no health suite and the mini mart is closed. The food is rank!!!! salad and some sort of meat covered it what appears to be soup most days, rice is a daily offering. One day it was fish but it smelt so bad we went out to eat, we did most days actually the only way to get a decent meal, and try to get rid of the turkey trotts!!!! The staff are rude and arrogant, if your british you have to go to bed at 12 or they will tell you theyve called the police or your rep and you have to leave that second. When the all inc bar closes at 11 you have to pay 5 lira for a drink, one couple went to get some water from the water dispenser and was told would be 5 lira too!!! you cannot drink the water from the tabs and this is the only source you can get water from and they tried to charge. The room was only cleaned twice whilst we were there, this did not include bedding, they only made the bed with the same dirty sheets wed had all week. The toilet stunk and the air con is operated by remote control, which you have to go to reception to get. We were not told this and thought it was broken, until another british holiday maker told us we had to ask for the remotes, they never even told us when we arrived!!!!! Please please please do not go there you will hate it it is horrible. I wish this was just me moaning but it isnt!!!!

WANT A HOLIDAY FROM HELL THEN THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. Words cannot describe the holiday we have just returned from. This Hotel belongs on a LIFE OF GRIME. If you want fungus, rusty bathrooms, Bedrooms that stink, flys all on your food,(which if you dont eat it at lunch, You WILL get it again at dinner) Also the same meal EG.breakfast every day of the week and almost every evening If you want a beech, There isnt one, just a rock covered in dead seaweed. The walk to Yalikavak will take you a good 35 mins, with a steep hill. NO entertainment, unless you like T. Rex then you can listern to it morning, noon, and night. The swimming pool isnt clean and is very slippery to walk into, my husband fell on the first day and hit his side on the steps. This Hotel is by no means clean or up to a 3 star rate, i personally wouldnt rate it at all unless you could rate it as a minus. I very strongly feel that this Hotel is not as described in holiday booklets and in no way comes up to the expectations of British Holiday makers. GIVE THIS ONE A MISS AT ALL COSTS. I hope you will find this review helpful.

The pictures and write up looked and sounded ideal for a two week break for myself and boyfriend. Before we went into the hotel we knew it wasn't going to the holiday we thought. The ' beach' was the size of my sand- pit when I was younger, covered in what looked like dry bark or sea- weed. The pool area itself looks appealing but thats about it. The food was terrible the same dishes were brought out for every meal and would just be topped up to make them look like new ones. The room was disgusting squashed mozzies were all over the walls. The bathroom smelt of urine, the showercurtain hung off the rail and mould was everywhere. Again there were squashed mozzies that had been smeared all over the tiles which I asume the cleaners if there were any chose to leave.

I'm glad I was moved to another hotel after four very long days.

I have just came back from a two week stay at the hotel gloria in turkey and all i have to say is it has been the worst holiday of my life a seemingly family friendly hotel with high chairs with no straps ,figs with dead maggots that i just about gave my 9month old girl , no entertainment, food left a lot to be desired, I have walking difficulties and had requested a ground floor at time of booking when i got there i was given a first floor room, nearest shop is down a steep hill again no good for people with walking difficulties, the bar charged for certain drinks not only international but also some local and this was an all inclusive holiday i expect to pay for intenational but not local drinks, the cot for my daughter was bad the mattress was like an old sofa cushion, we were told there was a beach but all there is ,is sea there is not even a shingle beach.
