“It was all good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

The villa and complex are excellent. The grounds are well maintained with a good sized swimming pool. Only a 10 minute walk to the beach and bars and with a bakery to die for 5 minutes up the road, beautiful fresh bread every morning.
I would certainly re-vist Villa Sophia, and hope to do so.

“Superb Villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We stayed for three weeks in Villa Sophia Yalikavak in June 2013. It is a well furnished, comfortable villa with excellent facilities. The advantage of the property is that it is at the back of the development which provides maximum privacy. On the roof terrace you have spectacular views of the distant mountains and is an ideal location for sunbathing or a night time drink. The site is very well maintained by gardeners regularly cutting the grass and hedges.
The pool is large and sunbeds are provided for use around the pool but we did not make use of them as we preferred the beach which is a ten minute walk away. The main road to the beach was having pavements installed during the time we were there which will make it a more comfortable and safe experience walking to the beach.
The property is managed by an English couple (Dawn and Norman) who were very helpful, meeting us when we arrived, purchasing some provisions for us and providing information about the area and explaining the operation of the safe and other equipment. They visited on occasions and were always attentive without being intrusive and provided helpful information about the area and places to visit. We were impressed by their professionalism.
The owner is quick to respond to emails and also very helpful in ensuring we had a good holiday quickly returning the security money after we arrived home.
We had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful area and would highly recommend a stay in this villa.

“The ideal location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Lovely spacious villa on excellent peaceful complex .All mod cons inside and large garden outside.sunbeds and parasols are supplied which was a bonus.
The complex is genuinely situated no more than a ten minute stroll from the bay of yakilavak. There you will find the various restaurants, bars and myriad of shops and if our experience is anything to go by, some of the friendliest people you will ever encounter in your life.
I forgot to mention the complex has good sized well maintained pool and the few residents we met were friendly and informative about the area.
The nearest shop is a well stocked mini market which is five minutes away( seven with a hangover)and the nearest supermarket a ten to fifteen minute walk.
We (married couple mid forties, two teenage girls) have had holidays as good but certainly not better.
If you want a tranquil holiday in the sun, this villa , this complex and Yakilavak in general would take some beating.Highly, highly recommended .
Why very good and not excellent?................no telly (two teenagers don't forget)

Thank you for taking the time to review my property.I am pleased to say that we are putting a TV and DVD player in for the coming season. We are also installing new shower cubicles in both bathrooms - the existing ones were showing their age with discoloured seals.

“Great Location , comfortable accomodation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Stayed for 2 weeks in Villa Sophia , having stayed the year before at Hillside Gardens about 10 minutes drive from the town centre , staying in Villa Sofia was wonderful just a 10 minute stroll to the town centre, beach and harbour . I would suggest taking a torch as after dark the walk is on a road without pavements and the turkish are not the most considerate drivers in the world !!
The development is very nice well planned and well looked after , with security on site , I think about 22 villas with a very good sized pool . Each villa supplies sun beds which are numbered , Villa Sofia has 6 sun beds but only 4 sun bed cushions , we purchased 2 cheap lilos for the other two so this was not a problem . The pool is open from 10 in the morning til about 10 at night and is very well looked after .
The villa is well located at the rear of the site away from the pool but still only a very short walk , past a very productive peach tree !! The accomodation is 3 beds , the main double has an ensuite shower and nice balcony , the second has twin beds pushed together and the third has bunks , good sized main bathroom . Down stairs is a wc, and a good sized living room with an open plan kitchen , the kitchen was fine although we found dry food storage a little difficult as a limited amount of cupboards and no microwave . But no problems . The villa has air con but no safe for valuables although security does not seem to be the problem in Turkey as it is now in other european areas .
We spent about 5 days around the pool which was very enjoyable out of 2 weeks , ate out every night although a bar be q is available and of course an oven and hob.
All in all a very nice holiday with excellent restaurants and interesting places to visit.

Liked best: Pool and location close to Yalikavak centre
Liked least: No safe and lack of bathroom towels due to a mix up with managers although this was a one off and should not be an issue for others

Many thanks for your review of Villa Sophia.I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. It is always helpful to receive feedback so that we can improve where necessary.
We had already decided to add another two sunbed cushions for next season. The swimming pool is actually open from 7am to 10pm.
We will be putting some more shelves in the kitchen cupboards which will improve the storage space. We do not consider a microwave necessary for holiday cooking.
There isn't a security problem, especially as we have site security. This is why we do not have a safe.
