My partner and I went to Monta Verde around September 2011. We did have a reasonable time so I will try and give some pointers:

1) Hotel is nowhere near a beach, it's a bit of a pain to travel to the nearest beach in minibuses - they are cheap but it's just a pain if you're as lazy as we are. The hotel itself is a bit shabby so do not expect much, but the atmosphere is nice and relaxed if you get away from the bar area. Our trip was ruined the last day as we went out - having asked the guy at the reception if we can stay longer as our pick up was a bit later - when we came back, the guy denied letting us stay in the room any longer, the feeling was a bit weird, we just wanted to get out of there and leave them to their devices, finger pointing and whispering behind our backs (as if it's such a massive problem - equivalent to - most probably - a murder in their eyes). We felt they don't take things easy.

2) Staff are nice but overall feeling is a bit chavvy (with people making instant friends with staff and writing their telephone numbers on napkins). I cannot fault the cleaning lady - she was fabulous, we did leave 5 liras everytime though and it was most probably quite a help for her. she was fabulous.

3) Excursions are not worth it - we went on a jeep safari - a waste of money and time, we had a guide called semi and a group of his drivers/minions. Semi most probably stands for semi-brain or manners or just semi - very self-involved individual with strong narcissistic tendencies. If I recall correctly, the company was caller Premier Travel or something to that effect. We were just unlucky to get that particular guide. On the whole, it's not worth taking any trips as it's not an area with rich cultural background or rain forests.

I would not go back to Monta Verde. Again, if your budget is on a lower side, it's not the worst of the places to stay.

Where do I start? The staff at this hotel make it so special! As it was our first time in Turkey, we didn't know what to expect but this far exceeded our expectations, everyone was so friendly, the place was immaculately clean and we felt relaxed from the moment we got there. I can't fault anything or anyone right through from the lovely receptionist Erdem to the brilliant cleaning ladies who cleaned (every day) and put clean towels in the shape of butterflies on the beds (every other day) , to the waiters Nihat (who has the biggest smile in Turkey),Nazif, Ugur, Hussein, Mohammed and Sercan to the Managers Barkin and Bora who came out everyday to talk to us and make sure everything was going well with our holiday. The Turkish Bath from Feliz was amazing and my husband who had never had a massage really, really enjoyed it. The bar staff Chetin and Ege were so entertaining and they dont hold back on the measures so beware a few unexpected sore heads are in order! The food was exceptional and the ranges available should suit most people with a mixture of English &Turkish foods available. The main pool area had lots of sunbeds and there was also the quiet pool and other areas to chill out if you didn't want to be in the sun all the time. We met some amazing people whilst away and will definately be returning again next year!

Arrived back from Monta Verde on the 15th September and have to say it was fab! The staff are so friendly and helpfull. We were upgraded to a villa on arrival, which was a nice suprise!

The villas are kept spotless, with the maid changing towels and bedding daily. The food at the buffet was of a good standard and snacks during the day were lovely. We went half board so didnt eat from the a la carte menu but I'm sure it would be very good.

Location was perfect for us as it was about a 15 minute walk into Hisaronu or 2 mins on dolmus, plenty of restaurants/bars on way.

On the whole this is an excellent hotel and I would highly recomend!

Jamie, Jenni & Marcus.

I'll keep the review short and factual -
Rooms - smaller than photos but exceptionally clean, maid service every day.

Food - we stayed on B&B basis, I recommend this as there are so many great places to eat out, breakfast great choice - hot choice could have been hotter, beans were lukewarm, but still enjoyed breakfast. Pool bar food and drinks cheap and very nice, some days better than others, I think it depended which chef was on.

Location - 15 mins walk to main centre of Hisaronu, however you have to suffer a bit of hassle from each restaurant as you walk to the centre, not as bad as previous trips but still the hassle got a bit annoying.

Staff - very friendly and helpful, a credit to the hotel.
Things that would have improved the holiday - disappointed at courtesy shower room, could have been better facilities (not too clean and broken tiles on shower) - need a hairdryer or at least a handy plug socket. Ask for a room away from the front of the building as it faces a busy main road.

Room Tip: ask for room away from main road

This was our first time at the Monta Verdi, we found the all staff to be very friendly and helpful. The hotel and grounds are clean and tidy . The hotel has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The bedrooms are not very big but who goes on holiday to spend all their time in a bedroom ! We did get clean towels every day without having to request them. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Hisaranu with it's lively bars, restaurants and shops. We enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to go back .

We have just returned from an amazing holiday at the fantastic Monta Verde hotel in Ovacik and couldn't wait to post this review to share with everyone just how great it was.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left two weeks later, we couldn't have expected anything more.

We received a warm welcome from Adem at reception when we arrived who met us from the mini-bus, took our bags and after a quick and easy check in process during which he explained all the facilities and the layout of the hotel, we were led to our room.

The room itself was very clean, well presented and comfortable with enough space for all our stuff.
The room was cleaned, and fresh towels left, daily often in the shape of hearts and butterflies which was a nice touch. The bedding was changed every second day. If you required anything else, a quick call to reception was all it took and it was with you in minutes.
The rest of the complex was also very clean.

We stayed on a B&B basis and ate here almost every morning apart from when we overslept once or twice after indulging in one too many of Get and Ege's amazing cocktails...
Food was plentiful and of a good standard with a wide choice of cereals, toast, jams, spreads, hot options and traditional Turkish options. Always a good choice.

We ate lunch here quite a few times and it was always pretty good and if there was something you fancied which wasnt on the menu, the staff were more than happy to let the chef know and he would make it.

The spa is gorgeous! We had a Turkish bath and I had a massage, both of which were very relaxing and a great start to the holiday.

The pool area has lots of sunbeds also with the quite pool and other areas to chill out if you don't want to be in the sun all the time.

The staff...where do I start? They make this place so special! As it was our first time in Turkey, we didn't know what to expect but this far exceeded our expectations!
Special thanks to Barkin, the manager of the hotel, always happy to sit and chat to all the customers. Ege, Get and Teresa behind the bar, you couldn't ask for friendlier people. Always service with a smile. As mentioned before the receptionist Adem was always cheerful and helpful. And who could forget Nehat, his smile was enough to brighten up every day!
All the others, I am so sorry I can't remember all your names but we spent a lot of time with the ones we have mentioned.
Returning from dinners and days out, it was like coming home to the little Monta Verde family and we were so sad to leave.

This hotel is amazing! You have to go!

Ovacik is an up and coming area but the restaurants and bars in the area are great and it's nice to be away from the noise and bright lights of the bigger resorts. 10 minutes walk (or a £3 taxi)and you are in Hisaronu and 10 minutes taxi or dolmus ride to Olu Deniz.

We will definitely be returning in the very near future! Can't wait to see you all again soon.

Lot's of love,

Nicola & Stefano xx
