“Excellent time here, clean, friendly staff, foods great, fantastic room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2009

My boyfriend and I went to greenland not expecting much as we only paid £520 each for 10 nights. Arrived silly early in the morning, we were greeted and a man took our bags for us. We must have been upgraded as our room was lovely and next to the quiet pool up top. There is a massive variety of food and breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks and snacks always availible. The bar staff were so friendly and good fun. The other people staying there were pretty much all english, it was a bit like little Britain, but once we got chatting to people they were all good too.
The fact its not walking distance to bars and shops is actually believe it or not a bonus, as there is no outside noise, the little very cheap shuttle buses come every few minutes, and its not far to Hisaronu/Olu deniz.. Recommend the £7 day boat trips, 6 island one was great and yummy lunch, Jeep safari is good but the day is too long, gets a boring boring near the end, and Turkish bath is a must. Deffinatly recommend Jasmine's restaurant and the curry place opposite in Hisoronu. Best steak and curry in the world, and so cheap!
Overall a fab holiday, very rarely do I go back to the same place but will be coming back here for sure :-)

Arrived at hotel early hours of morning and room allocation was pretty quick. Very active young man sprints about with luggage (after we'd offered to take our own we were quite relieved he did in view of distance to room, which in fairness always seems longer when surroundings are not familiar and there's an eagerness to get to bed!). Can only speak from experience of deluxe room (which we had as a good deal from travel agents) and no complaints whatsoever. These rooms are at the quieter 'top end' of the complex - light and airy, tastefully decorated and sockets in appropriate places ie close to mirrors! Spotlessly clean & well worth considering if upgrade not too pricey. Balcony just enough for small table & 2 chairs with lovely views on pool aspect side. Great pool for those brave enough to withstand it's somewhat cool water! The bar up at this end seems to cater also for some more mature male Turkish non-residents later in the evenings who tend to comandeer the television & turn it up quite loud!! We felt a little obliged to move as they obviously wanted to sit around said tv - nothing said but vibes were clear!! It's a shame more isn't made of this room as it distinctly lacks atmosphere and resembles a large cafeteria although the terrace outside is quite pleasant. The staff are more than helpful and very pleasant even if they don't understand huge amounts of English it's more than we understand Turkish! A short walk downhill then brings you to, what we assumed to be the original hotel area with another, larger pool and small children's pool. The dining area is also down here with seating both inside and al fresco! As mentioned in previous reviews, salads plentiful and varied with plenty of Turkish delights - whilst the hot food selection was not hugely varied, we could not complain about the food that WAS available. Breakfast omelettes are cooked to order & yummy & some evenings various barbecued food available. On the subject of selection, the all inclusive drinks range was not too imaginative with gin, vodka, wine (the red was ok first night but seem to get more transparent as the week went on!) & beer - all very nice but seemingly not much choice, however I will happily stand corrected on that if anyone knows different! Sunbed towels available at a deposit of 10 lira per person (less than £5) refundable at end of stay, can be changed every day at reception. Safes are 12 lira per room non refundable. Drinks taken from mini bars in rooms are also charged. As far as entertainment is concerned don't get too excited about having your evenings all sorted but by the end of the week you'll know all the words to "I am the music man"! If you're thinking of using the fitness room - the running machine & cross trainer had been out of action for 3 weeks & weren't repaired while we were there although apparently the technicians were onto it?! However if exercise is what you're after there are hills up to the hotel and in the complex to run up & down! Courtesy bus down to Olu Deniz leaves hotel at 10.30am and returns at 4.30pm. Entry into Blue Lagoon area 3.50 lira per person, sunbeds & umbrellas extra but the water down here is lovely - clear AND warm! Otherwise the local buses known as Dolmus are great for getting around between Fethiye, Ovacik, Hisonaru & Olu Deniz - cost between 1.75 lira to 3 depending on journey - they run every ten mins or so but will stop if they see someone looking as though they could do with a lift somewhere! All very clean & non smoking but they do pack folk on. Have a great time :-)

Best part of hotel is probably the food and pools, quite good choice of food, all buffet style. would get a bit repetative over 2 weeks, we did'nt get the double bed room that we asked for and had to report a broken door handle and window that they did fix.
Rooms were 3 star at best but were ok, entertainment was average at best with the highlight being a belly dancer and break dancers. Hotel is not within walking distance of anywhere bar a couple of restaurants, but buses are cheap to the 2 towns within 2 or 3 miles away. Beware of the cheap island tour boat trips , the food is rubbish and it just seems to be an exercise in trying to sell you as many over priced drinks as possible.

We had a great time at the Greenland. We were a little worried as a few reviews we checked just before we left said it was awful and the food was no good but we can't agree - what are people expecting? British Food? Throughout our 14 day stay we rarely had any repeats of meals or snacks and the salad bar was fantastic with huge variety of authentic Turkish food - one of my sons is a really fussy eater and he loved the food! The entertainment varied but all the dancers brought in to perform at the amphitheatre were excellent everything from Traditional Turkish Belly Dancers to modern breakdance nights - very professional. The rooms were on the small side but spotlessly clean and maid service daily to provide clean towels. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and management were always at hand. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Two pool areas meant you could join in or enjoy quieter area if you wished. It's not the best all inclusive we've stayed in but one of the cheapest and great value for what we paid.

Just returned from this hotel on 31st August 2009. We had an excellent holiday. We paid more for the deluxe rooms and it was definitely worth the extra. We understand that these rooms are a new addition to the hotel this season. The rooms are tastefully decorated with granite bathrooms and flat screen tv in the bedroom and the rooms are quite large. We have stayed in more expensive hotels in Turkey but this is the best standard of accommodation we have had by far. The deluxe rooms are situated around a new pool at the top of the hotel. We stayed around this area for most of the week's holiday only going down to the main part of the hotel at meal times to the restaurant. The top pool was lovely and peaceful, there was absolutely no rush to put towels on the sunbeds as there were plenty of them (and umbrellas) and the sun is around most of the area for the whole day. You can get drinks and afternoon food from the bar here and the toilets both around the pool and in the bar were absolutely spotless. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. You do have to walk down from here to the restaurant for meals but we didn't find this a problem at all. The food we thought was very good and plentiful. We never had to queue very long for anything and there were always plenty of tables available. We found the food to be very varied - you didn't feel that any 'leftovers' were recycled the following day into something else which is what happened in our hotel last year virtually every day. We were not surprised to meet staff that were friendly, hardworking and courteous as this is our 5th trip to Turkey in the last 3 years and we have found this to be one of the main reasons why we keep going back because we love the Turkish people. If you make an effort with them they will reciprocate. The only thing I am unable to comment on is the entertainment because it's something we aren't into much preferring the quieter bar at the top. We took the 12 Island boat trip from Fethyie, we went on this 2 years ago and met the most brilliant guy working on the boat. He was called Atilla but is known as 'Terry'. We took his mobile number and never thought that he would still be on the same number this year but he was. He is on a different boat now but we booked the trip with him by text and it cost us £7 per head which included transfer to and from the hotel to the boat, lunch and 6 swim stops in beautiful locations, most of them for 45 minutes. The boat stopped at quieter places so it wasn't as busy and it was great for swimming. The boat had a slide on which everyone seemed to love and there was some entertainment on the way back courtesy of Terry. He made us feel very welcome again and we know from others on the boat that he keeps in touch with quite a few English people via email. If anyone is interested please send me an email through Trip Advisor and I will send his details on - it was so good to book the trip without having to travel to Fethiye to do it and then possibly having to go back another day to go on the trip. We were out from 9.45 am to 7.00 pm and consider that to be fantastic value for money. Drinks weren't included on the boat but were not overpriced. All in all we feel that we have had value for money at this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to go back again. We were concerned that it may be a bit too far out but that wasn't the case as it is very accessible to nearby resorts. Would definitely recommend it. It was a very chilled place to stay. Just one more thing, earlier reviews have mentioned the mosquitos - none of our party was bitten once which is quite unusual. The only things we saw were the 'wild' tortoises (if you can call tortoises wild!) ambling around on the grass at the top pool. Never seen that before in a hotel!
