“Excellent location, best hotel in Olu Deniz!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Firstly, after reading all the reviews on this hotel prior to our trip I was a little dubious about booking it, but I shouldn't have worried!

The hotel is on the main strip; however it isn't overly busy or noisy as some of the other reviews may say. We were lucky that our room was located furthest away from the noise, but even so it still wasn't overly noisy at all, with most bar's closing around 1-2am.

The beach is literally 5 minutes walk away and the lagoon around 15-20 minutes walk. We were a little disappointed with the lagoon, it's so touristy and not even that amazing, but if you hire a pedalo for around 30tl, you can properly explore all the nooks and crannies which was beautiful!

The hotel itself was excellent. The maid asked us everyday if you wanted our rooms cleaned and they were always spotless. The hotel staff were excellent, they helped us out when we locked ourselves out of our room, apparently we were the first people to ever do so! The rep was great as well and everyone was so willing to help! We never actually woke up early enough for our breakfast but the food was ok, we only ate their once as we liked to try other places but definitely the best place to stay in Olu Deniz!

We were due to stay here for a week, but after a night or two we asked our rep for a transfer, the noise was unbearable, I've done my 18-30 clubbing holiday and this was unacceptable. 3am every morning the noise went on for, if they just closed the rear doors behind the speakers the noise would have been guided elsewhere, for a hotel to have somewhere as noisy as that on till 3am was unbelievable we heard lots of ppl complaining, I did expect noise til about midnight, but we went away for a relaxing holiday. The breakfast was awful so this compounded us to ask for a transfer which we got as we were going to leave anyway. Although the pool is fantastic and the actual rooms were pleasant the whole experience was spoilt by the noise and the rudeness of the staff who refused to tell us when the rep was available, I think he was the boss man, big tall chap with facial hair.

Room Tip: Get a hotel off the main strip, I would avoid here unless you intend to be out til 3am every night a...

I stayed here for 2 weeks with my boyfriend, after i read the reviews i was really dreading staying here but to our surprise there was no major issues with the hotel! The rooms need a bit of TLC and updating but its got everything you pay for. Towards the end of my stay i got chatting to a man in reception asking about the hotel i was completely honest and revealed its faults and good points and to my shock he revealed he was the owner! He was very understanding and said he reads the reviews and is saving for a refurbishment. Your in a different country and all thier hotels are basic at that price. If you dont like it stay in the uk and sleep in a preimier inn! You get what you pay for! Also iv seen reveiws of people moaning of no sea veiw they requested! Well guess what! Its obvious there isnt one! Your half way down the strip! If you want an affordable holiday near everything you need! Marcan beach is a good place to stay!

Just got back from this hotel. We checked in at midnight and the receptionist apologized for the room (604) might have been staff quarters for all I know, and the noise from the bar next door, which belongs to the hotel and played music until 2.30am, so loud you couldn't hear yourself speak. He said they would move our room the next day
True to his word we moved rooms to a nicer room, but the bathroom had only one bulb, the shower leaked on the floor and it was like the black hole of Calcutta but it was away from the street where the bar was, but it made no difference our patio door was warped to the extent I had to shove a towel in the gaps, but the bar was so noisy It wouldn't have mattered whether the door was perfect, with complaints from the rep and other residents with families it was turned down at around 12.30 each night only to go up again, the noise was relentless. Apparently the hotel was taken over by new owners a couple of months ago but they don't understand they have to keep the residents happy, they only seem to want to make money in this bar.
A source told me Thomsons had taken this hotel off their list and Thomas Cook are considering it to.
Breakfast is poor, 8 types of olives, a toaster that can only take two slices of bread at once, tomatoes, cucumber ,one type of meat and cheese, yoghurt etc., the orange juice is pure sugar, the breakfast food wasn't chilled just cling filmed in the open. None of the staff wear any type of uniform so you don't even know if they work there.
Apparently the pool had to be closed a week before we got there as the water was green as it wasn't being cleaned, towards the end of our holiday it wasn't as clear as it was when we got there, I never seen anyone clean the pool all week.
There are signs telling residents not to take you own food and drink into the hotel, you have to buy drinks from the hotel if you are at the pool, but check you receipts balance with theirs, ours didn't. Get down early for a sunbed, I seen 10 beds with towels on them at 6.15am. Some beds had towels on them all day and no one lay on them, some residents lay on the sunbeds for a couple of hours and went away and left their towels all day and never came back.
The nicest member of staff was our cleaner although the same dirt and hairs lay behind our bathroom door all week not to mention the thick hair in the shower plug hole. To me the new owners haven't got a clue how to run this hotel and the sooner Thomas Cook pull this hotel the better.
The overhead photo of this hotel has it surrounded by trees, its not three sides are street and one of them is the main street.
Its a nice resort with plenty of restaurants and hotels much better than this, do yourself a favour get one away from the main drag.

I expected to pay for the air con etc. but was very disappointed with everything else, thank god it was only a week.

Room Tip: In another hotel.

It's a nice hotel very basic but you get what you pay for staff could be a bit more friendlier but the staff from the bar and restraunt are very friendly , the pool is lovely, I am entering the last week here with my girlfriend and there has been no problems,it's a good area to be in,the people who complain on here are expecting way more than what they pay for, overall it's a pleasant place to be the rooms are clean and tidy and I'd recommend this hotel for someone who's not looking to spend a great amount .
