“Great Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor we took the plunge and booked 3 apartments for July. We emailed to confirm all the details and where very surprised when we were told there was no need to pay a deposit or anything. Niam even organised the transfers for us at less than half what the airline wanted.

On arriving at Dalaman Airport we gathered our bags and nervously made our way to the pick up point wondering if we were going to be picked up. We were met by our diver who took us to a very well maintained mini bus and quickly took us to the hotel. On arriving we were met by Niam, his wife and the boys and made to feel very welcome by them.

First impressions on arriving were favorable. The pool area was looked very welcoming. The apartments were clean but basic. We were self catering but there was no oven. Saying that though there was a 2 burner gas hob and a microwave in each room. In fact the Kitchen areas had recently been revamped. Seeing that 2 of our children where teenagers Niam and the boys quickly swapped out the sofa beds in 2 of the apartments for proper beds. The rooms themselves were a little dated but Niam has plans for a major revamp of these. (Other guests told us of this as he had only recently refitted out the B&B rooms).

The prices at the bar were very good. In fact cheaper in some respects than the bars in the main resort. Niam carry's a wide selection of drinks at bar, but don't think your going to a rowdy hotel with lots of drunks. Niam runs a family hotel and expects the guests to behave as such. His wife runs the catering side of the business and has a wide selection of snacks available. The evening menu is limited but what she does, she does well. The only down side to the evening menu is you have to order the day before which was a turn of for us as on holiday we like to be spontaneous about were we eat. However what you get is always freshly prepared.

As I mentioned the pool area was great. One of the cleanest pools in a hotel I've seen and all done with as little chemicals as possible. The whole area has recently had a face lift, which included new wood effect tiles around the pool and a very smart facelift to the poolside toilets and shower.

As you would expect there is no kids club so you have to entertain them yourself. However there is free WiFi, pool table and table tennis available.

Before arriving we did read a few comments on here form other first timers, saying that they felt some of the regular visitors were offish with them. We did see an element of this and overheard one regular saying about another party arriving a few days after us "more new people. if we don't like them Niam can send them off". We also had an incident where the same woman (I think ), organised for every other guest to stay for a special Buffet meal one night and completely ignored our party. (May have been because one of party hearing her quip about the "new people" said in a voice loud enough for her to hear "that was one of the negatives on Trip Advisor". However most of the other guests were friendly and chatty.

Would we stay here again. Possibly. We say possibly because we have visited Hisaronu 3 times in the last 5 years and there are plenty of other places to visit in the world. But IF we did come back to Hisaronu then we would certainly look Niam up.

One word of advice though. Niam is happy for you to run a bar tab and with kids this can mount up pretty quickly. Our group quickly fell into the habit of settling up every few days, for no other reason than you then know exactly how much you are spending.

There is something special about Ozturk you can pick that out from any on the reviews on here. The hotel is a gem and run to the highest standards by Naim and the team, the rooms and every other aspect of the place is maintained to the highest standard and spotlessly clean.

Nothing is too much trouble and if you so wish you will rarely need to lift a finger as Naim and the team will take care of everything. The food served is tasty and good quality with most of the ingredients being grown by the family and locally sourced.

You can expect to be welcomed as part of the family and due to the size of the place you can guarantee to be involved and get to know all the other guests. There is a real family feel to Ozturk so if you plan to hide under a beach towel or tare up the town you might not appreciate the special feel to this Tripadvisor Award winner.

If you want a relaxing, stress free and fun holiday you can do no better.

Room Tip: Apartments and B&B all good and air-condition throughout

I have been to the Ozturk before and returned in July to find that that all the good things which called me back were still there!
The rooms and facilities are kept very clean with free air-con and wi-fi, and are comfortable and to a higher standard than many higher starred hotels. You will not find a cleaner pool anywhere.
Naim and Duygu are perfect hosts and at the end of your holiday you will think of them as your friends, nothing is too much trouble for them and they will help you with anything that they can.
They make it such a relaxing and friendly place that you find yourself on first name terms with all the other guests within a few days - if not hours!
I highly recommend the Ozturk .....but shhhhh......let's keep it our little secret.

My wife and I stayed at this quiet lovely hotel for 2 weeks in July with our 18 year old daughter. We all had such a lovely relaxing time. NOTHING was too much trouble for Niam and his wife. They treat you with such warm friendship. They will organise trips for you, arrange taxis etc. Naim’s wife Dougal is also a wonderful cook if you decide to stay on and have a relaxing evening meal at their restaurant.
The pool and the rooms are absolutely immaculate. I have NEVER seen a pool so clean!
I was sceptical about such wonderful reviews, but we met lovely people who had returned year after year.
One note of caution..... If you’re going to this hotel to have a ‘wild time’ you have booked the wrong hotel. It’s for relaxation, families and just chilling out.
We will return maybe in two years time after saying I would never go back to the same place twice, Niam has certainly changed our minds.
WE WILL BE BACK!
THANK YOU
Jeff, Diane and Lois

Room Tip: All rooms face the pool. There are NO bad rooms!

We stayed here last year after reading the great reviews and had an amazing time, we've stayed in the same area since 2006 and can't believe we never found this little gem of a place sooner. From the moment you arrive until the time you leave Naim and his family can't do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble, we loved it so much we came back this year and everything was just as great as last year if not better. Everyone is just so friendly and we've made some great friends from newbies to people that return year after year.
The rooms are just what you need clean an tidy with a perfect view, the whole hotel is spotless. Naim and his staff work really hard and always have a smile on their face.
Naim wife does the cooking which is faultless.
There's nothing bad you can write about this hotel cause everything is just right.
This is one hotel we will be returning to year after year.

It was our first trip to this area and reading the reviews it just sounded too good to be true ! But from the moment we arrived in our taxi from the airport and were greeted by Naim, his wife, and the wonderful boys, it took just a few hours to feel a part of this very special hotel. Naim just couldn't do enough for us, the accommodation is spotless, and just relaxing around the pool Naim and his wife and the boys were constantly serving us drinks and their wonderful ice creams. In the evening after our evening meal everybody would gather around the bar and it was one of the highlights of our holiday, we have made some wonderful friends who i am sure we will meet again. We wanted for nothing and I have to say it was truly one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had. I have never come back from a holiday so refreshed, and I have never cried leaving a hotel !! We have already booked for next year and cant wait to see Naim and his wonderfdul family again. 10/10

My husband has been to the ozturk once before and had a fantastic time, but this was my first time with my daughter..
I can honestly say that from the first time my daughter Jo and myself met Naim and his family, nothing was too much trouble for them to make you feel welcome, anything you wanted,Naim would go out of his way to get it for you
My husband Dave joined me in my second week, and we had a fantastic time, the other guests were so friendly,it was like we had known each other for years,I'm positive that has a lot to do with the hotel and the way it is run by Naim, his family, and the two lad's naim's is training up to work for him.
We will be going next year for sure,I just wish we could afford another holiday here this year!
The fact that Naim has won the trip advisor's award 2013 speak's for itself, and is richly deserved.
