We recently stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour of Turkey. It is smallish (40 rooms) hotel laid out in blocks around a pool area. Restaurant & bar also. The whole place is immaculately clean & well maintained. The staff in both hotel & restaurant are courteous & attentive without being over the top. Receptionist speaks fluent English & was very helpful.
Rooms are a good size, all with bathroom, balcony & air conditioning. There is a small well maintained pool, and small landscaped grounds.
We ate in the restaurant for our stay, the food was good, large menu, reasonably priced. Hotel situated 5 minutes from the beach. Some noise from neighbouring nightlife.

we stayed in the blue star hotel from 13th july 09 room 106 for a week and we have nothing bad to say about this place at all , it is a fantastic hotel and very clean , the staff in the resturant/bar and reception are very friendly , we eat out a couple of times because well you have to see the area but we found the food at our hotel was better than most places in olu deniz and most nights we noticed people from other hotels would eat at our hotel also , the standard rooms are small but what can you expect from the prices ? you can upgrade to the delux room which will do when we return in september hopefully , another good sign was the fact that many turkish people chose to eat at the resturant and stay at the hotel too , good decent respectable family people with well behaved children , we had a great time and will be returning!

We booked directly using their own website and got better rates than others, better standard rooms, and air con included. Mehmet the owner will also offer his airport taxi service (aircon leather seats and related to the boss which is reassuring for female travellers to know) and is £40 both ways - payable to the hotel on checking out - half the cost of a normal taxi. We found we needed no Turkish Lira on arrival. Furthermore the shops and hotels actually love it if you pay in GB pounds, even this year!
A paragliding company tried to overcharge us (Eftalya - avoid like the plague), and the hotel owner and his daughter were amazing, they argued in Turkish and told the paragliding company to disappear. This place is full of repeat customers who go back year after year, we know their secret, its a great great place!
Mosquitos are rarely found in this resort - the whole resort recieves a kind of gas treatment every 5 days which kills them all. This means you can open your balcony door late at night without fear.
Restaurants - Do's: Cloud 9, Belkediz Beach, Blue Star Restaurant, Oyster Residence
Restaurants - Donts: Sultan Ahmet, JADE, Buzz Bar
Paragliding companys: Do's: Sky Sports & Donts: Eftalya
Random Do's: Try the odd turkish word, they love it, they really want you to try it!
Change your money in the resort centre, its better than the uk.
Buy some beach shoes to get in and out of the sea, or look stupid trying to take the pain.

I stayed at the Blue Star for a week from 4th-11th July with my partner. I haven't got a bad word to say about the place, the complex is lovely - rooms bright and airy and modern, cleaned very thoroughly every day and beds made daily. The restauarant was fantastic and the staff so helpful, always eager to please. Finally the location was perfect - just nestled away out of the hustle and bustle from the strip but still just a few minutes walk away to the beach and main strip. The resort itself is great, comfortable size - plenty of choice for food and drinks and very relaxed. great cocktails in Buzz, great food at the Blue Star, Help, Oba. If you go out of the resot be sure to visit Gemiler Bay and stop off at the CinBal BBQ restaurant in Kayakok - fantastic food and very cheap. ALL IN ALL BLUE STAR HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!

We went to Olu Deniz during June for 2 weeks, and stayed for the whole trip in the Hotel Blue Star. We haven't got a bad word to say about it. From arriving tired from the flight to leaving in the small hours a fortnight later, Mehmet and his staff were continually friendly and helpful. The facilities were excellant, and exactly what you needed after a day in the sun. The rooms were air conditioned, spotless and the beds very comfortable.

The hotel is literally 50 metres from the long beach, which makes it very convenient. It has a great pool, and when we went there were very few children. You get over flown by loads of paragliders each day. It is very easy to relax there and the sun loungers are free to use. The hotel bar opens early each day, and the bar staff always have a smile for you.

If you do stay at the Blue Star, we recommend you eat at least once at the hotel restaurant . It serves a range of food, but has some great Turkish dishes. We ate there twice in our stay, and were amazed by the quality of the food and service.

As you can no doubt guess, we really rate Blue Star and will be returning next year.
