“Great Hotel Fantastic People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

Jusy got back from Turkey. Had a fabulous time in Oludeniz. The Blue Star is a great hotel. The restaurant is superb and gave us a discount as we were guests at the hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially C Jay. The waiters and the restaurant boss were fantastic. Room was cleaned everyday and the shower was powerful and hot. Mehmet the owner was friendly and helpful. Pool was lovely. ??Breakfast was usual turkish affair, boiled eggs, coldmeats and cheeses cake fruit etc.Restaurant is the BEST!!! Location is ideal 50 yards from beach and main centre yet still quiet enough .Would go back tommorow if I could . Thanks for a fab holiday

Room Tip: Ground floor ae most basic but clean and adequate useful if not too fit,Best get at least 1st floor...

Stayed at this hotel for 10 nights at the end of June start of July, This is a great hotel, which has a very good restaurant. The rooms are basic but this was fine as we only slept and showered in the room. The pool is lovely, there were a couple of children playing loudly in the pool and the owner was out quickly to tell them to be quiet. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to both the strip and the beach. The restaurant was amazing with great food and the staff were very, very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed every night eating there. When looking at the reviews of Blue Star, every body was raving about Rudi the bar man, but all he seemed to do was sit chatting up girls, or texting on his phone. He was polite but it was CJay who seemed to do all Rudi's work. I had an issue with the bed and aircon in the room, both times I asked for help the owner was there and he saw to it that it was fixed within the hour. Great family run hotel both for families and couples.

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Blue Star in Oludeniz. It was exactly as all the reviews have said... really friendly, lovely place. Great swimming pool, table tennis and pool table. Outdoor bar and restaurant areas. Wifi worked in the room, but quite intermittently on my macbookair - more stable on ipod and iphone. Wifi worked well at pool/bar area and in Reception area.

The manager is a lovely person and made great effort to meet all our requests, particularly when I found the pillow too high for my neck, he eventually located a soft, thin one for me!

They have a safe unit in the lobby you can pay extra for and lock valuables away, but we decided after the first day that it wasn't necessary - the staff are very reliable and nice. We just locked our valuables in our cases.

We stayed in the main reception building in their newly built loft conversion - so the decor was fresh with minty green walls and purple curtains, with white woodwork - very fresh & clean looking, with balcony that has place to hang washing which was perfect for costumes and towels etc.

It is quite noisy at night if you want to sleep before midnight, but we didn't so it didn't bother us. Had to have air conditioning (pay extra for) on all the time, it was so hot).

Breakfast that was included in B&B price wasn't to our liking because we don't like eggs, meat, tomatoes, olives and cucumber for breakfast. They had cereal (basic stuff) but no yoghurt, muesli etc. There was always watermelon available and occasionally some home grown apples and plums. But you can order other breakfast items off the menu. We had two evening meals there and the food was very good standard with excellent service. Certainly among the best standard available in the area. (Though lunch time menu was less exciting, except the izzawas apparently very nice, but potato wedges weren't good).

The barmen were fun and friendly, as were all the staff. really made it extra pleasant staying there because they make you feel at home.

The only problem with Oludeniz and all the places we visited, was the smoking - even on the beaches. We had to move so many times to try and lessen the effect! There was a lot of smoking at the pool area and I really wish they would honour the non-smokers too by allocating one side of the pool for non-smokers - then I would go back and stay there :)

Room Tip: Ask for room in loft conversion - number 118 was the best one we had - big shoer room and ample spac...

Just returned from a 10 day stay at the Blue Star Hotel, our second stay here. We can not praise this hotel enough. The rooms and pool area were always kept exceptionally clean, the rooms themselves were good for the amount of time you spend in them and just a 2 minute walk to the beach, perfect location. The lunch time menu and evening meals were brilliant, so much so we ate there every night. So much choice and the meals were always well presented, as well as excellent value for your money. The restaurant staff couldn’t do more for you, always so welcoming and friendly.

For us, both Rudi and C-Jay (bar staff) made our stay the best. You can have a laugh with them yet they are very professional at the same time. They are both so obliging and very hard working. As for Mehmet (owner), if you need advice on something or recommendations he is always so willing to help where he can. All of the staff at the Blue Star Hotel are 5* and they all truly made our holiday. And that is why we and everyone else keep coming back!

Look forward to returning next year!

Pippa and Dan

Room Tip: The new rooms situated in the roof of the hotel are gorgeous. With a view of the sea, and very spaci...

This is the 6th time I have stayed at this hotel. The owner Mehmet and his staff have an ability to make you feel at home and extremely well looked after, Nothing is too much trouble.

The rooms are spotlessly clean and with ample space to accommodate a couple (or family if a family room is booked). The hotel has 46 rooms, a handful of which are brand new this year, we had a little peak, they are well worth the two flights of stair to get to them, a beautiful sea view from the room. All of the rooms look over the pool, so although not all have a sea view, you will not be dissappointed. The pool is well maintained and the hotels exceptionally high standards are reflected in how clean and attractive the pool area ans gardens are.
You can have a basic room with TV and ensuite or delux which comes with a fridge and has carpet as opposed too tiles, not a huge difference, but the fridge does come ins handy. All the rooms have aircon which is needed as Oludeniz is a really hot area over the summer, I have not seen it below 28 degreed celcius.
The food at the Blue Star will offer you an authentic Turkish experience whilst also having the option of English breakfasts and snacks etc., I would highly recommens the Turkish Meze (it says it is a two person starter, but there is plenty og food there for lunch). Everything is freshly prepared at the restaurant and this really shows compared to a few of the other restaurants within the Oludeniz resort.

Rudy and CJ, the bar staff are entertaining and thoughtful, We had a tab for the two weeks were were staying at the the hotel this year and I have never felt more confident that the bill was correct. Rudy really does take care to ensure you are looked after and enjoy your experience and does make you feel like part of the family there. There is a Pool Table and table tennis along with a bean bag are for relaxing, Cocktails a plenty too.

I really do think that the Blue Star is a hotel that once you have visited you will want to go back. Most of the people areound the pool had been staying at the hotel for 16 years plus, we were amongst a small number that had nto reached double figures.

An added bonus is that the Blue Star is 5 minute walk from the beach and the main strip. Buses and taxi rank are about 10 mins walk.

I would recommend booking direct with Mehmet at the Blue Star and having a personal transfer from Dalaman Airport, the service is fantastic and all coordinated by the Hotel Staff. An added bonus is they remind you of your flight times and pick up time when you are dure to go home.

Once again the Blue Star delivered a great holiday. They have created some new rooms over the winter and they look great. You can view them on their facebook page. The staff are superb, the boss just gets it, he understands how to keep his customers happy and they will keep coming back. I cant fault this place at all and highly recommend it to anyone who will listen to me.

A Lovely welcoming small hotel. It has nice rooms, with shower room,tv (BBC News and 1 other English speaking channel) and air con at £4 per day. It was Cleaned daily and towels changed. Comfy beds. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We had a great time and will be returning next year. Friends came from another area to visit us, and liked it so much, they are going there next year too. I agree with all of the positive comments below. It is an amazing little place, close to the beach and shops.
Another great plus point, is that if you want to visit Sugar beach, they will arrange a pick up from the hotel for you at no extra charge. They also have leaflets of other places to visit in the reception area.
