“Not as good as before”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

We have been coming here for last 4 years. Was great til they put in new bathrooms, then quality of all inclusive went down hill badly. Food still good but alcohol very poor compared with other years and staff attitude not great. I personally prefer a poor bathroom, and a brill all inclusive. If it was not for friends getting married there I am not sure if I would be going back. If things have not improved in may 2013 this will be our last visit. There is a big world out there with lots of places totey. The hotel is up a huge hill making it poor location, the thing going for it had been good all inclusive followed by friendly staff - it was sadly missing last year. I would rather pay a bit more money and have a great holiday, don't want 2 do battle with confused grumpy staff who are told 2 serve weak drinks. Please let it be like old times next tear or we will be looking elsewhere.

We have stayed at the Yel three times in the past year and if I could've squeezed another one in before they closed this year, I would have done.

The Yel is a lovely hotel with absolutely beautiful gardens. It is well managed, with the hotel manager, Serdar, always available to chat to guests. All the staff work exceptionally hard, most of the time in blistering temperatures. There's something nice, friendly and homely when the staff know you by name. Would this happen at home? No, I very much doubt it.

I love the rooms at the Yel. The bathrooms now, are stunning, with a great shower! It's better than the one I have at home. The maids do a great job and the cleanliness is excellent. Balconies are small, but there is room to sit quite comfortably.

We found the food to be good. Always plenty of choice - if you are prepared to try something new. The soups served at lunch and dinner time were delicious and the salad bar was amazing. My son is quite a fussy eater.....and he never went hungry. Beer, wine, vodka, raki, gin, tea, coffee, soft drinks were all available. We didn't have any complaints - but reading other reviews, we didn't want to get blind, falling down drunk.

It doesn't matter which hotel you stay in, or which country it is, for that matter, there will always be someone who is unhappy or who hasn't received what they expected from their holiday. It's life - but it doesn't give those people the entitlement to be rude. Shouting for English sausage while visiting a Muslim country is appalling. I witnessed this while I was there and sometimes felt embarrassed and ashamed to be British.

In my humble, but honest opinion, I think you are all doing a marvellous job at the Yel. Keep it up, because I'll be back as soon as I can!

To begin, this was our second visit to Yel and would return again as our two week stay was relaxing and enjoyable, just think for about £34 a day we've been flown on a 5000 mile round trip and had four available meals and snacks a day, with unlimited soft drinks, tea and coffee and yes below par booze, so what!!!!

I'd actually challenge anyone to go to Blackpool to get the same value.

The rooms were exceptionally well managed with daily service, Memtap was and always will be a star, swans and petals on the bed, what a touch and a good photo opportunity, thanks Memtap. O the bathrooms and showers are excellent 5*.

The resturant meals were as expected and doable but not the Ritz, hey its Turkey but will say and mention you will not starve as there's plenty of fish, chicken and quality local fruit and veg. O and the soups are brill and worth a go.

Fresh pancakes and fried eggs cooked to your taste and request every morning.Brill!!! went well with the beans and toast.

The staff can be occasionally cheeky but its their way of being friendly, Hassan the resturant manager has an excellent sense of humour and very approachable and will go the extra mile if the right and correct tact is used. In other words if you've got a problem take the time to make you're point and Hassan will attempt to put it right, he looked after Us exceptionally with credit to his position.

To be honest you Brits, we can moan about anything just go to Yel and dont Yell enjoy relax and let the superb staff look after You as they did us.

Even though this was an all inclusive holiday, one of my pet hates was wastage, seeing people ask for food and drinks in volume then wasting and discarding it without thought, this I feel winds up the hotel staff in general and if reduced could result in better acholic beverages.

In general dont be to fussy, enjoy this hotel and holiday, thanks Hassan and Memtap

Just returned from a week of pure hell from this hotel my wife and i went for a week and being well seasoned travellers to Turkey we do not expect the earth when we book a last minute deal but nothing can really compare to the total dissapointment of this hotel. The bar staff were the most unhelpfull ignorant people i have ever had the misfortune of dealing with the beer was served in dirty plasic beakers which frequently had lipstick marks still on them the lager was flat and when i mentioned this i was told that the gas had run out and they had no intention of changing it as it was the end of the season so we were stuck with flat lager ! The vodka was so watered down it was embarassing and on more than one occasion the the barstaff thought it would be fun to serve gin instead of vodka! As for the food it was chicken chicken chicken the afternoon snacks consisted of warmed up chips and even more chicken and the staff make a point of directing you to tables next to the childrens play area . Avoid this hotel like the plague it is a total disgrace and will put you off turkey for life which is a pity because my family and myself have been regular visitors to turkey for over 15 years and are regular visitors to the ovacik area

Room Tip: dont bother

My sister and I have just returned from a week's holiday in the Yel Hotel. Was not expecting a top hotel as Yel is only 3 star rated, so I will start with the good points - we found the room tidy and clean the bathroom was nice but small, we had clean towels everyday but had to ask for more toilet paper. The swimming pool is nice and kept clean and the Manager is constantly walking around to make sure all is clean and tidy.

Now the bad points - food ok but just ok and not a lot of choice, drinks as other tripadvisors warned were watered down and served in not nice looking cups, the cocktail bar did not have any drinks to make up the cocktails we ordered. Entertainment absolutely crap, what this guy Ali is meant to do is anybodies guess. Steps steep so made it hard for get your suitcase up and down and lastly we went on holiday to relax after a sad bereavement in our family and the first few days we were constantly pested everytime we got a drink or went in to the dinner room by the waiters - after a few days I think they got the message but be warned.

To sum it up the weather was nice we found it easy to get the Dolmus and we had a good nite out at Talk of the Town (warning will only take lira) and hotel was clean.

Won't be going back.

Good points and bad points for the Yell really.

Good Points:
The rooms are very clean with lovely new bathrooms and the maid does some wonderful designs with the towels and bedding. The grounds are kept clean and are nicely landscaped with a couple of tame rabbits running around which was fun. The pool is really good too with loads of comfortable loungers with padded covers and a slide which is open morning and afternoon for about an hour each. Ali the entertainer is smashing and is a great judge of character knowing who he can joke with or simply be friendly too. The Waiters and chefs were generally ok with a few exceptions and work extremely hard, they do tend to joke a bit too much though and I could see some people getting a bit annoyed with the very juvenile humour, but at least they were not dull and tried very hard.

Bad Points:
The Bar/Restaurant Manager needs to go on a customer care course because he has absolutely no idea how to treat his paying customers or his staff for that matter! Five to eleven comes and the the bar is shut pronto with much vigour! He even asked me to collect some glasses one night if I wanted a drink because he was running short, I think not! Alcohol choice is the worst ever and as other reviewers have mentioned the Vodka is about .5% proof! The plastic tumblers they use around the pool are yuch!, old, dishwasher faded and ready for the bin! Food is generally ok though but meatballs in various guises were on the menu 14 days in a row, really! Restaurant served fish only once in this time too. Daytime entertainment consists of darts and pool volleyball. Could do so much more like other hotels i.e. Archery, Shooting, Aqua zumba, sholen etc, etc.

We won't be going back to the Yell again unless things change, this said the area is great with loads to see and do and lovely scenery all around.

With a few simple changes and review by the management of how other hotels handle all inclusive Yell could be so much better.
