“A lovely break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

My family and i have just returned from a two week break in the Liberty Hotel, Hisaronu,Turkey. The hotel was extreamly clean and tidy. The Turkish staff are very friendly and helpfull. We enjoyed the good food, sun and very warm day's, the night time is very cold. There is plenty to do but not as much as summer, as it is the end of season the entertainment and day trips are closing for winter.
At the Hotel Liberty there is a problem between the turkish staff and the Thomas Cook staff.

We booked a weeks holiday in October 2013,term time, for a relaxing break before winter sets in. The Hotels location is just about 5 mins walk from the bars and resturants of Hisaronu, so would suit a bed and breakfast option, although you could upgrade to Half board for a reasonable fee. The reception area has been upgraded but unfortunately thats as far as it goes, the accomodation is made up of numerous small blocks with ground and 1st floor rooms. Our first room was very basic and dark, with part tiles and Laminate flooring which were all loose and coming apart. Reception were happy to swap rooms but we had to wait until the following day. The second room was better but basic and needed upgrading, our maid was lovely, she cleaned our room every day and even made some animals out of towels and flowers. Staff in the dining room were pleasant but only worked at one speed, food ran out quickly so we had to wait for more on a number of occasions but was fairly well varied. Breakfast however was poor, with little choice, one morning there was carrots with the beans and scrambled egg.. a first for us, the plates were dirty on a number of occasions.
The pools were nice with comfortable beds but the water was colder than the Antartic, with the hot sun failing to make any differance. Flys and wasps were particulary annoying around the pools and dining areas with a number of guests being bitten, is October a particular bad time for wasps ??
The Hotel operates a system which uses room cards for all purchases so it is wise to pay it off every day or so.
Entertainment was poor so we and a number of families spent our evenings in Hisaronu a short walk away, there are plenty of places to visit although many were shutting for the end of season. We particulary enjoyed Paddy's Bar who made you feel very comfortable and had free pool table , PS3 and a childrens corner to keep the kids entertained.
Overall Hisaronu is a lovely place, the hotel is nice but not a 4 star, it was good value for money but needs quite a bit of modernising. As we were leaving we were told they intend to make a number of changes in particular, extending the dining room and the pool bar in time for next season.

This was our first trip to Turkey, we stayed here for 7 nights in middle of October.
The reception team were friendly and very helpful on arrival and throughout our stay. All the other staff were fab and very friendly too!
We stayed half board and were very impressed with the wide variety of food!
The entertainment was great. The pool was cold but once you got in it wasn't too bad!
The rooms are basic but then we didn't spend much time in it so it wasn't at all a problem to us. Couldn't praise the maids enough, they do an absolutely fabulous job, the rooms are always spotless and the beds made up beautifully.
Location wise, it is only a short 5/10 minute walk to the centre of Hisaronu, where you will find lots of shops, restaurants and bars.

We enjoyed out holiday so much that we have already booked to return to Liberty Hotel at the end of April 2014. Can't wait :)

The only downside about this place is that the rooms need a bit of an update in the rooms; the lobby restaurants and pool areas are fine.

We booked late with Thomas Cook and got great value for money. I would recommend this place to other people. We wont return to the hotel as Turkey is so big an we want to visit a different area but can highly recommend this place.

Special mention the lovely Nurgul who was very helpful ad to Mehmet who always welcomed us with a smile.

Would ask hotel owners to update the rooms as its a good hotel overall.

Stayed here for a week in October. It was my first time to Turkey and this hotel was a great choice. The rooms are clean with working aircon and have everything you need. We all chose to stay half board as we like to try different restaurants but we ate here 4 out of the 7 nights as we couldn't fault it, especially the BBQ night. Lots of choice at both breakfast (buffet style, meats, breads, cereal, pancakes, eggs, bacon etc) and evening meal, something for everyone including the fussiest of kids.

The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There are a few good pools, nice and clean with a adults pool as well as a family pool which is surrounded by water slides. Great little pool bar that serves snacks all day. There is also a reasonable shop on the complex with most things that you'd need. The Spa is also worth a visit, Turkish baths here are well priced and really worth the time if you want a good tan.

Location is great for exploring Fethiye markets and habour which is easy to get to with a quick (20ms) and cheap bus ride from Hisaronu. It is also close to Ölüdeniz, 5 mins on a bus from Hisaronu and just over the hill to the gorgeous lagoon and beach bars. The mini buses are really easy to use, just walk the few minutes to Hisaronu town and stick out a thumb. I'd also recommend a trying a boat trip, first time I have booked a trip while on holiday and it was a great day swimming in coves.

I really love this location, this hotel is a brilliant choice for families or couples and we are hoping to visit with more friends soon.

Returned here at half term as I wanted to be in Hisaronu and this was best price. Thomas cook kids club being open until 31oct sold it to me as Toni is fantastic with the kids, even putting on a halloween party for kids as they did last yr.

Weather lovely and warm in day the pool is v cold but kids didn't mind. I even had fun on slides myself but could only do 15 mins before body went numb.

Temp completely drops at night so warm clothes & p.js needed.

Rooms very dated and freezing. We had a room to sleep 6. That's 6 beds in 3 rooms with a huge balcony. But air con/ heating only in 1 room. Bonus is sky TV with Disney channel.

Bathroom was reasonable with lovely hot running water.

Bed/pillows hard everyone of us woke with bad necks and me bad back.

Its a nice 3 star hotel on the pool/eating reception are but rooms seriously let it down BUT are due renovation for next season so don't let this put you off.

Now onto Pool bar men found them to be same as last yr, a lot of guests came to same conclusion as myself...its end of season and they just can't be bothered which was fine by me. I've been to turkey in high season and can't be doing with pushy over the top waiters flaunting themselves. The staff here did their job (although service with a smile would be nice) when I ordered 2 drinks the loud bar guy who I thought was rather miserable came around the bar and carried my drinks over to where we were sat by the pool so that was a nice touch.

You get what you pay for here and we were b*b and breakfast was fine..live cooking station one day fried eggs, next day pancakes, next day omellete. Hot station with diff thing Daily basis, always offer scrambelled eggs which were tasty. Cereal, pastries, sliced meats cheeses, crackers, fruit, salad. Always something for everyone.

Booked dalyan trip £15 Lunch included and 6 island boat trip £5 with on board BBQ. also had Turkish bath, oil massage and face mask £16 all booked by travel agent in town

Tips: take travel kettle as you are charged to hire one and I wouldn't due to principle as we were charged last yr to heat baby's bottle. Take nightgown rooms cold.

Oct lovely time of yr to go days averaged 26° sun sets around 5pm and is beautiful sat on beach watching it.

NOW FOR SHOPPING we travelled 25oct-1 nov same as last yr all shops shut on 31oct so cut price Xmas bargains.... I got 5 pairs of Nike High tops for £45 (£9each) 2 pairs ugg slippers for £15 2 adidas Onsies £15 2 pairs ugg boots £25

I wont rule out coming back but found it a lot warmer prettier and convenient for the beach being down at olu deniz so may try there next yr.
