“Excellent value for money, a well-run, clean & friendly hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2009

I returned on 4th July from a week's holiday in Olu Deniz, staying at the Hotel Turk. Myself and my partner are in our early 30s, from London. Whilst we weren't completely won over by the resort itself (a bit too touristy, and the beaches not as amazing in person as they look in pictures), we were very pleased with our choice of hotel.

Hotel Turk is very well-run by the famous Lily (as mentioned in all the other reviews!) along with various family & staff. All the staff are helpful & conscientious, but Lily in particular is a star.

Hotel grounds, pool etc are all kept scrupulously clean & neat by a team of local cleaning-ladies, and the rooms are cleaned and tidied daily. The rooms are better than I would have expected, on past experience of hotels in Turkey around this price range - they're not huge but are comfortable and fresh, with particularly good modern shower-rooms. Each room on the first and second floors has a balcony, and I think most of the ground-floor ones have at least a small terrace.

Location of the hotel is excellent, right round the corner from the main street of Olu Deniz, about 2-3 minutes walk from the beach, cash machines 30 seconds away... easy access to everything really. It is a little bit noisy at night if your room faces out onto the main street (as ours did) but it's tolerable, and music etc. all seems to finish by about midnight/one o clock. If you're worried about that, just as for one of the rooms that face inwards towards the pool - should be quieter at night.

We didn't eat at the hotel very much, but the food always looked good, and the Turkish breakfasts and fresh orange juice was always fantastic in the morning. (We were usually up too late for the free breakfast buffet but the couple of times we made it, it was excellent - again, better than previous experience with similar class of hotels in Turkey).

Only *slight* downside to this hotel, in my opinion, is that the pool is a little bit on the small side and both pool and sunbeds can get a bit crowded when the hotel is busy. Not an issue, obviously, if you're going to be getting out and about to the beach etc. during the day.

If you're looking for an excellent value-for-money, friendly place to stay in Olu Deniz (and especially if you have kids, this seemed a very kid-friendly hotel), I would highly recommend Hotel Turk.

We came back today from the Hotel Turk and I must say, we had a fabulous time. There were 28 of us in our group ranging in age from 2 years old to 70! Everybody enjoyed themselves and its all down to the the staff at the hotel. Lily, Rambo and the gang make you feel really at home and join in with all the fun.
The new swimming pool is beautiful and safe for the children. The rooms are spacious and the air conditioning is freezing which is just what you want in the heat. The food is excellent and varied in choice from traditional Turkish cuisine to egg and chips when you fancy something from home. The bar is well stocked and there is a great selection of cocktails ( which i tried quite a lot!) and the kids dont miss out either as Rambo will make them non-alcoholic cocktails or amazing fresh milkshakes.
The hotel is based right in the middle of everything so the shops, cash points, chemist etc are right on the doorstep and the beach is a leisurely 5 minute walk past the fantastic selection of shops and bars. Olu Deniz is a wonderful town after dark, it comes alive with the market and shops all open till late and it feels very safe (no gangs of teens!).

Lily was also great, organising Turkish baths for all the girls and we all had manicures and pedicures.

Im 31, my husband is 39 and our daughter is 7 and we are definately going back to the Turk next year!

This hotel is excellent. Wonderful staff !!!! Rooms are clean and well kept.
BBQ night is a must !!!
Staff cannot do enough for you.....very friendly atmosphere, Lily and Rambo do all they can to make you welcome.
The hotel has many guests that return year after year, to me that says it all.

Do the Daylan trip to the mud baths good fun, Paragliding is excellent and the Turkish Bath with massage is amazing.

As soon as you enter the grounds of the hotel, you are warmly welcomed by either Lily or Rambo. You'll be shown your room and should be pleasantly surprised with a smart, clean place to sleep. Me and my wife just thought "fantastic, we've made an excellent choice of hotel!", and every day almost we reminded ourselves how we'd chosen not only a lovely resort but how much we appreciate the friendliness of the staff from Lily, Husein, Rambo to Ken, Ali and Mustaffa. From the time you get up to at night when you're winding down, everyone is there to greet you and get you up to dance.

My two girlfriends and myself have just returned from a week in the Turk Hotel, Olu Deniz. My friend booked it on recommendation and we were not disappointed. Lilly and her family plus staff certainly make you feel like one of the family during your stay there. Any problems and she is like the oracle in that she seems to know everything and nothing is too much of a problem. My only minor critisism would be that when it has been raining you have to be very careful on the stairs from the pool area to the rooms. It would have been an idea to have had a hand rail although there is a ramp which would have been better situated on the other side.

The hotel is in a fantastic location for shops, beach and lagoon. We used the dolmush to get around and the stop is just a short walk away. Olu Deniz is not large but large enough to find somewhere different each evening to watch the world go by.

I shall definitely be returning to this hotel and who knows, next time I might even do some paragliding!!!
