I returned on 4th July from a week's holiday in Olu Deniz, staying at the Hotel Turk. Myself and my partner are in our early 30s, from London. Whilst we weren't completely won over by the resort itself (a bit too touristy, and the beaches not as amazing in person as they look in pictures), we were very pleased with our choice of hotel.
Hotel Turk is very well-run by the famous Lily (as mentioned in all the other reviews!) along with various family & staff. All the staff are helpful & conscientious, but Lily in particular is a star.
Hotel grounds, pool etc are all kept scrupulously clean & neat by a team of local cleaning-ladies, and the rooms are cleaned and tidied daily. The rooms are better than I would have expected, on past experience of hotels in Turkey around this price range - they're not huge but are comfortable and fresh, with particularly good modern shower-rooms. Each room on the first and second floors has a balcony, and I think most of the ground-floor ones have at least a small terrace.
Location of the hotel is excellent, right round the corner from the main street of Olu Deniz, about 2-3 minutes walk from the beach, cash machines 30 seconds away... easy access to everything really. It is a little bit noisy at night if your room faces out onto the main street (as ours did) but it's tolerable, and music etc. all seems to finish by about midnight/one o clock. If you're worried about that, just as for one of the rooms that face inwards towards the pool - should be quieter at night.
We didn't eat at the hotel very much, but the food always looked good, and the Turkish breakfasts and fresh orange juice was always fantastic in the morning. (We were usually up too late for the free breakfast buffet but the couple of times we made it, it was excellent - again, better than previous experience with similar class of hotels in Turkey).
Only *slight* downside to this hotel, in my opinion, is that the pool is a little bit on the small side and both pool and sunbeds can get a bit crowded when the hotel is busy. Not an issue, obviously, if you're going to be getting out and about to the beach etc. during the day.
If you're looking for an excellent value-for-money, friendly place to stay in Olu Deniz (and especially if you have kids, this seemed a very kid-friendly hotel), I would highly recommend Hotel Turk.
