“loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2008

We have been going to Olu Deniz and hisaronu for many years now but have never actually stayed in Olu Deniz, the Akdeniz beach hotel was our first and we loved every minute of our stay.We have known Ersel the manager for 7yr now and he always runs a good hotel,Gadget, entertainment has also been with Ersel for years and is good at his job,you have to remember that trying to entertain so many people is hard you cannot please everybody but he does his best and tries to involve all,all other staff we met for the first time but they were all fantastic and made us feel welcome,Atti is great or should I say Crouchy(he does resemble the real one) he is a laugh a minute, hope people don't take him the wrong way I think he is a nice guy,Sali the chef is good and there alway's something you can enjoy love the omelette's for brekkie,I had my 3yr old grandaughter with me and tho she only ate there choco pops in the morning she always had something to to eat which she liked for lunch and evening meal and was totally spoilt by all the staff, thanks to all for a wonderful holiday must mention Hassan and Elvis the waiters looked after us well, also Smiley,Ossi,Orhan and especially the lovely Jemma the bar staff who also looked after us very very well also reception Ahmet and Jan very helpfull, cleaners as rooms were kept clean and all in the Al a Carte restaurant where we had a couple of delicious meals, hope I didn't forget anyone as they all were brill, thanks to Tarik and Suran for the airport transfers in a real comfy mini bus looking forward to going back in September,oh not forgetting all the lovely people we met too many to mention.Hope I spelt all names right probably not?

i have just returned back from the akdeniz beach hotel and have got to say it was the worst all inclusive hotel i have ever stayed in! Me and my boyfriend arrived st 7.30 in the morning..we were showed our room (by the way the rooms are nothing like the pictures, we got told you have to pay extra for those) the bathroom was covererd in mould,no handles on any cupboards or draws and there was mould all over every wall.they were pretty clean tho..this hotel needs to update its web page as it is complete false advertising!!!

The food is discusting......the whole dining area is outdoors and food is left for hours with flys landing on it! Breakfast was boiled eggs and left over chips from the night before. we never ate it once! then for dinner and tea it is soggy cold chips and whatever is left from the night before but they tried to make it look different! God help you if your taking your children here they will literally starve!! By the way there is no late breakfast and any snacks you want during the day you have to pay for...even tho its all inclusive!

The entertainment is non existent.. 'GADGET' the hotels entertainer is a money making fraudster..he is more bothered about selling fake dvd's than doing his job!the only night we had entertainment was when we had a game of bingo..i nearly died when we had to pay £10 to take part and the prize was 20% off the hotels a la carte restaurant..its a complete joke!!!

bar staff take ages to even realise your their as they'd rather stand chatting and smoking!!!

Finally if you want a sunbed set your alarm for 6.30am as ever single one is taken by 7am, i got up a 6am every morning!!

the only good thing i can say is it is reasonably clean and the pool area nice but everything else is dreadfull...god help you if you have booked!!!!

  • Liked — pool area, well if you get up in time for a sunbed

I have just returned from the Akdeniz beach and could not find fault with it at all. I have been going to the Hisaronu/Ovacik area for several years with friends but this was the first time we have stayed in Olu Deniz.

I had read the reviews from last year but was not worried about staying there at all – having stayed at hotels run by the same manager and entertainment team before I was confident that the Akdeniz would be run in the same professional efficient manner and the positive reviews would soon replace those less positive ones of last year.

We had a fantastic welcome to the hotel and immediately felt at home despite it being our first time of staying there. Ati and Jemma are fantastic additions to the team, they both work very hard and could not do enough for us. AI bar open from 10am to 11pm and the measures are very generous!

The food was lovely as always, the waiting staff and the chefs headed up by “Super Mario” were super efficient and very friendly. Pool and surrounding area kept very clean as were the rooms with regular bedding and towel changes. Reception very efficient too, a couple of times we called for something and it was delivered within minutes.

The a-la-carte restaurant is worth a mention too – hotel guests get a 20% discount – food and service was very good – the garlic mushrooms went down very well….sorry Gadget, you shouldn’t have left them with us and expect them to still be there when you return!!

Hotel located in a great position – only a couple of minutes walk to the beach, a little further if you want to try the blue lagoon.

Olu Deniz is a lovely place, very pretty – well worth a visit as is the Akdeniz Beach which is fantastic value for money and full of friendly, hard working people. Thanks for a fab holiday guys – see you next year if not before!!

Me and my girlfriend went here last year and plan to return soon. Yes, this hotel is not perfect, but we paid £299 each for All Inclusive including flights and transfers. The hotel is small so all inclusive is unusual but this allows the chef/s to serve good quality meals which are excellent. The staff are excellent, the pool is not overcrowded, the air conditioning worked and was in with the price. The hotel is quiet and not overran with kids but still works for families that do not want millions of kids running around. Couples will like this hotel as we did. You must visit the beach bars situated on the beach itself, very romantic.

My boyfriend and I have just got back from a week at the Akdeniz, and it was absolutely ideal for what we needed. I had been feeling really apprehensive about the hotel as some of the reviews I had read via tripadvisor had been really poor. Olu Deniz was reviewed everywhere as stunning, and it really is! The hotel was lovely, admittedly first impressions when we saw the plastic grass and rather tacky sign weren't great, but as soon as we walked in we could see it was very pretty.

The hotel is small, and based around the pool and courtyard so is secluded and keeps the sun for a very long time. The staff were fantastic, and really freindly, they enjoyed making everyone laugh and were very helpful and entertaining. There was such a range of people there (age wise) and we met some lovely couples during the week - everyone was so friendly, you get a real community feel from it. Its a perfect resort for families, and couples, and is literally 10 minutes tops from the Blue lagoon (3 lire but well worth it). Shops and restaurants were fantastic, food at the hotel was delicious and traditional, with a wide selection and will cater for even fussy eaters with chips and salad as an option most nights. The pool is perfect temperature to cool you down as the weather was boiling every day, and lilos, rubber rings etc are provided for free if you need them.

Breakfast continued until people stopped wanting it which was great and meant there was a possibility of a lie in if you needed one! Entertainment every night was such a laugh - bingo, turkish belly dancing, karaoke etc. This is the only thing that some people complained about though as it did go on till 12ish - we loved it but if you're looking for guaranteed quiet nights then maybe this hotel isn't for you.

Boat trip is a must - £6 for the whole day including lunch and the area is even more beautiful surrounding the hotel and in the coves hidden in the mountains.

We had an amazing week and I would ignore all the bad reviews, it was clean, friendly, and HOT, with delicious food and flowers on our beds some mornings - Lovely. Definitley recommend it and I think we'll be going back next summer!

(As an afterthought though, teletext holidays weren't that great to book through, unless you book very early morning the offer has already gone, and although still cheap for an all inclusive week and what we got for our money, we still ended up paying £270 for a holiday which was advertised as £209. Oh and remember a tenner for your visa, some people didn't know about this!!)

  • Liked — The location, the food, and the staff - all fantastic
  • Disliked — The chips were sometimes cold but we didn't want them often anyway - hardly traditional!

Hotel very clean. Maid sprinked rose petals on my bed one day and arranged my satin nightie with a rose in the middle of it. Placed rose on top of one of my Birthday cards also. Regular clean towels nicely displayed on bed. Chef very nice man and a very good cook - there was plenty of variety. Only grumble - chips were lukewarm. Staff all very friendly and polite.

All inclusive was good value - free drinks good and NOT watered down!

Good for couples, as went with my partner and we felt like we were on honeymoon. Small enough to have an intimate atmosphere.

One final comment: there was an autistic man [Matthew from Gt. Yarmouth] ] there with parents and two carers. This blighted our stay a bit as they all tended to leave him alone with other guests; he was a bit of a nuisance to say the least as he was very loud. His carers no doubt had a good free holiday at expense of taxpayer, yet did not really 'care' for him!
