“cracking place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

i'll try and keep it brief..... Just got back from 2 weeks her with wife and 2 twin boys of 7 year old. Like most people i was glued to facebook and trip adviser beforehand and was a bit apprehensive.... I needn't be, it was fantastic! firstly, the rooms are quite small which is why we upgraded as soon as we got there... a girl called Selcen dealt with it, her English is excellent and nothing was too much trouble. she was a diamond.paid a bit extra for suite but the price is negotiable. but the bigger room with jacuzzi and massive balcony made it. Plenty of hot water with good pressure, good tv,dvd, beds, safe etc.maid was good too.The food is top notch, plenty quality meats ,salads desserts etc. i never heard one moan bout food.... which is rare.drinks are of very good quality and variety. Everywhere is of high standard ,pools, bars etc. kids club was a bit of a let down at first but improving all the time. entertainment staff work hard and do a good job, i felt the programme needs tweaking a little bit after meal time to keep it alive. the outside acts are improving all the time .They had an outside laser lights and disco show one night and it was fantastic... bit like ibiza but for families!!! Staff a little quiet at first but as they get to know are wonderful.... if you show you can have a laugh they are the same!the place is spotlessly clean. Kylie the rep is great, any help needed, she sorts it and follows it up.My only little gripe was i felt the resteraunt needs managing at busy times. too many people and no one directing the pace. waiters a little pushed to clear tables, get drinks talk to guests etc. if you eat before 8pm thats the secret! Lets be honest we haven't paid over the top to be at a top place..... yeah there are a couple of very minor issues but they do their best to make it better.80% of the hotel is British guests..... i think this definitely produces a nice welcoming atmosphere. met some lovely people. We always make the most of a holiday. i'm never shy to complain either though if something is not right, but on the whole its bang on!

We have just returned home from 11 nights here, we went on the 28th May so virtually a month to the day from when the hotel opened. Its a great hotel with great facilities & great entertainment staff too - Burak and Erhan are fantastic guy's and really do a top job, hats off to them!! Erhan will entertain you in the day with darts, pool games, water polo etc and Burak is a cheeky chappy that will entertain you at the kids disco and in to the night after the kids disco.

There will also be shows from Turkish dancers etc throughout your stay. All very good and the ampitheatre is a nice setting. If you are a night owl then there is also Nebula which is the nightclub and during our stay opened between 12-2pm, but this may change and open slightly earlier in the future. In my opinion it could have done with opening around 22:00/23:00hrs. It is a small disco/club but didn't need to be any bigger as it never got full, however it is a great place to end the night and mingle with others.

The Rooms: We were put in the wrong room for our first night but the next day this was rectified and we had a lovely room (1403) for the remainder of our stay. The rooms aren't huge but ours had ample room for two of us and had a lovely view of the pool and sea. We were also roomed next to our friends as requested. The reservations manager (Serkan) couldn't have been more helpful and was very apologetic regarding the inconvenience on the first night. There was only a shower in our room but this suited us as I think it does most, there is a overhead power shower and a handheld shower if needed. The water was as hot as you wanted too, which isn't always the case on holiday.

The food here is an all inclusive buffet style and is superb. The dining area can be a bit hectic at an evening, getting tables cleared and other guests seated at clean tables can take time, but this just seems due to staff still getting used to operations. The main thing is the food and this couldn't faulted. There is also the option of the A la carte (Italian and Turkish) which is also nice for a change. However there is a 12 euro surcharge for this which isn't too bad.

The drinks are limited on the all inclusive menu and I can understand why this would be, but I think with the current ingreidients used for the few cocktails current listed on the menu, the same ingredients could be used to create some more cocktail options. After a week of being here the choices got a bit boring. There is Efes on tap which is a nice beer so all good for a few beers throughout the day. The bar staff are in general very good however, and will help you come up with other options. We tried Almond and Cherry Liquer with diet coke and it became a winner. You need to watch out for other things such as Baileys which isn't listed on the menu but us available as a home brand.

I have to mention Hattice in the Lobby Bar, she works really hard to ensure that guests always have a drink in hand and does so with a smile on her face, lovely lady!!

All in all there will be things that people could point out at being an issue at the hotel, but mostly these will be small things that are common with the opening months of any large business. This is a great hotel just finding its feet and I think you will all hav a fab time when you visit. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends and that say's it all.

We have stayed at Club Belcekiz Beach Hotel in the past which gets good reviews. However at Orka Sunlife the facilities are much more modern and the place has a friendly vibe to it. Orka Sunlife is up on the hill as opposed to on the beach, but beacuse of this you get a great view. The food is also great and in a few more months I think the service will get a lot better too. So overall I think this will become one of the best hotels in Olu Deniz\Hisaronu.

For now our time is over, but we would definitely go back and had a fantastic time!! :o)

Got back yesterday from 12 night stay, we have had an amazing time met some fab people!
On our fist night we were placed in wrong room we spoke to night manager who passed our concerns on to serkan, the next morn he came to look for us to rectify the problem we ended up getting a discount on a suite and upgraded! The suite was beautiful and the view was unbelievable! 1405 room if your thinking of upgrading!
We had our 5 yr old daughter with us I've never left her in a kids club b4 but I did this time as the kids club is very well situated next to kids pool etc it's is very secure and you can see your kids! The lady who works in there Tanya is fantastic my daughter loved her!
The entertainment team burak and erhan I can't prase enough they work hard getting everyone involved and making sure everyone has a good time, really nice and funny guys! My hubby and his friend played water polo darts football etc with them. Also Roxane does all exercise classes she is lovely my friend and I did aqua aerobics step yoga we really enjoyed it and didn't feel as guilty eating extra cakes lol!
The food was really good every day! I do think it can get a little hectic regarding seating ppl and cleaning tables quickly but other than that it is really good.
The bar staff were great as they got to know us they were getting our "usual" drinks ready b4 we ordered lol!
My friend and I had a massage the spa sauna etc is really nice!
We really had a great time despite a few teething problems your holiday is what you make it and we defantly made the most of it and got involved in the activitys which I would highly recommend as you have a laugh and get to meet other ppl! Thank you orka for a great holiday I've recommended you to my neighbours who will be coming in September! :-) x

Room Tip: Upgrade to suite if you can! Loads of room and stunning views!

Stayed at the Orka Sunlife in Oludeniz end of May 2013.

The hotel had only been open three weeks when we arrived and if you wish to spend most of your holiday in the hotel and around the pool then this location is ideal.

The panaramic views are spectacular looking over the bay of Oludeniz and the hotel is beautiful, with the exception of a few teething problems that develope with any new build. The hotel was dug out from a steep embankment so getting to the rooms when the lift was not working (they appear to have a design problem at the moment) is a task especially on the upper floors.

The staff are really friendly and couldn't do enough to help you enjoy your holiday, if I had to be critical I would say they lacked supervision and direction in certain departments.

Although it's classed as being in Oludeniz it's closer and cheaper [in a cab] to Hisaronu.

Excellent slides for the kids and big kids too. The food was very good with several choices at each meal time, so there was always something for everyone.

Tranfer time from the airport was one hour ten minutes travelling through Fethiye in rush hour.

Overall rating: ****

Hi Everyone
Been here now 10 days. Good points. Great hotel , fab room, superior, food very high standard with plenty of choice. Spa very good, had 3 massages which was excellent as had a problem back pain, the Therapist was very good. We arrived at 21.00hrs had no problem with check in very efficient. The pool is lovely, and the slides great fun. the restaurant staff were very good and attentive and polite. The entertainment appeared to be ok, did not really watch to much, but it was great to see that the loud music stopped by about 11pm. Drinks very good for an all inclusive. As I have have been to Olu Deniz a number of times knew what to expect, great beaches.
We were aware that the hotel is set up a mountain, but this was not a problem as the hotel laid on curtesy buses to take you to the Blue Lagoon, and return you to the hotel. .Taxi were available all day should you require them.

Bad Point
My only disappointment was with the standard of cleaning in our bedroom, not to a high standard as we would have expected, on one occasion our bedroom had not been serviced at 6-30pm,
spoke to rep and this did not occur again. That was my only gripe.
Overall a great hotel, great people, superb food.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view superior room, upgrades were available my family who came a week later than us upg...

Just returned after 2wks i am writing a honest review so people no what they are paying for the hotel itself is nicely presented the views are great we found all staff to be helpfull and friendly especially lobby bar and milky way bar staff. On our arrival we were given a room in the top block and was taken up in bus as lift was broken the room was small and smelled of damp we complained to rep and was moved next day to a room in bottom block which was also very small lacked storage space and with a bed settee in it for our son gave us very limited space only had 3 small drawers very small wardrobe 5 coathangers but i took my own as well it looked out onto stairs and lift which after 5 days off been there was fixed but ment lift goes up and down all day and night rooms wer very loud doors been banged an people up an down stairs all the time .a large amount of rooms look onto stairs the hotel is very badly designed for this .cleanliness of rooms was a big problem to me and lots of other people i spoke to we only had our sheets changed twice two days after arrival and day before we came home had to ask for clean towels ar one point no cleaner had been in for 4 days the toilet bin stunk we had no toilet rolls no clean towels so we had to complain i believe the hotel have just employed some more cleaners as they admit ther is a problem with rooms been cleaned ,also cleaners get to rooms very late after 5pm. Now for the good bits the food is of a good quality is varied and is plenty full , the spa is lovely but do barter on prices , entertainment staff are great but not pushy .although we had a nice holiday we would not return ,the rooms are too small so are the beds child size twins the cleaning is a big issue the location of rooms due to the design are not great for a restfull holiday also its too far from beach for us ,oh pools are great but be carefull on slides
theres been a few accidents .

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

As like previous reviewer stated a very expensive dissapointment. We went for 1 week for the may half term. Although we had a good weeks holiday and have visited turkey several times and shall return again we were disappointed with the hotel, would rate it more as a 3 to 4 star.
Reception.
Arrived at 4am to a queue of about 7 family's trying to check in and a group of very loud drunk guests in the lobby bar, not a good first impression. After about a 20 min wait finally got checked in, told to wait for porter to come and help with our cases, waited about 10-15mins and no signs of any porter. Together with another family who were also waiting decided we would try to find our own room as we were all externally tired by this time and just wanted to get to sleep. Found the hotel room map and realised we were on the top block with a lovely out of order sign on the lift doors. Again not a good start 186 steep steps with suitcases.
Rooms.
We had a standard room which for a couple would be fine but for 2 adults and a 6 foot teenager not ideal. Double bed with a pull out armchair bed for son at the foot of the double bed no privacy what so ever, wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't paid adult price for our son. Small dressing table which is not that usable. Small amount of wardrobe space with 6 hangers for 3 people. Nice small fridge which was stocked with water, beers and cans of Pepsi and fanta. All looked very impressive and new but already staring to show wear after only a months use.
Balcony good for storing cases as there was nowhere else, but as a balcony not good, we did have a better view than some but didn't use it as we were overlook by the lifts, stairs and the people in the next block and had one broken chair which we reported to reception and was told it would be sorted but never was.
Must say I found the bathroom very nice, lovely powerful shower, a nice size, nice selection of mirrors. Although did find the window in shower to the back of the bed a bit strange.
Reception.
Visited reception several times and response varied from ignoring you, to couldn't be bothered and being very pleasant.
Food.
On the whole the food was ok have had lots better at Turkish hotels. Only 1coffee machine in the restaurant for all the guests to use, mind we gave up after a couple of days as it wasn't very nice anyway.
As other reviews have stated meals times were very busy, not enough tables and people in large groups wanting to sit together and moving tables about.
Our concern was that there is only the one eating area next to the pool used for breakfast, lunch and evening meals, people coming straight from the pool wet and covered in suntan lotion for their lunch sitting on the lovely cream coloured chairs ( never going to last ), some of these chairs were still wet when you then went down for your evening meal.
Pool.
The main pool was lovely, a nice size ideal for a good swim, pool and pool area was always keep clean and tidy while we were there. Sunbeds were one of the most comfortablist we have had, always some available even later in the day. Constant loud music we could have done without.
Water slides were great fun but have concerns for safety as unsupervised, whilst we were there saw people trying to go down them standing up, bad accident waiting to happen.
General hotel.
Stunning view, good pools but apart from that wouldn't recommend it, there's no peaceful or quite area to chill out and get away from the noise around the pool, couldn't even go back to room to sit on the balcony.
And then there's the STAIRS 186 to our room then another couple more flights to the pool or restaurants, we were there for a week and the outside lift broke down the day before we arrived and was fixed the day we left, there was a shuttle bus to get to the top block, but the queue at reception to request this was sometimes ridicules, while we were there we only saw it used a couple of times. We did ask to be moved the day after we arrived but was told there was nothing else avalible.
There's a free bus to the logoon which was lovely, sun loungers for small fee, nice restaurants, canoes to hire and and a little peace and quite. Would book a week here if we could.
