“THE BEST HOLIDAY WE'VE EVER HAD”

Club Belcekiz Beach Hotel

Sep 2, 2008
5/5 found this review helpful

Don't read any bad reviews for this hotel, they are being ultra fussy. The hotel IS a 5* beach resort hotel. If you want a different type of 5* experience, check out Knightsbridge. We just returned yesterday from a two week holiday here and we were very happy with EVERYTHING!
After a 90 minute transfer from Dalaman airport, we arrived with about 30 other guests. We we're very quickly given our room key and a porter brought our bags along about 5mins later. The room was spotless, and every day when we returned to our room the beds had flowers left on them, the fridge was stocked with a big bottle of cool water and a few fruit drinks (the fridge isn't restocked, but the water can be filled from the mineral water dispensers). The staff can all get by in English, everytime you say "thank you" they say "You're welcome"
You can see various videos on youtube for the hotel, one of which shows the sunbed rush at 8am. The hotel is strict about the time at which sunbeds can be "reserved" with towels. We did participate on a couple of occasions, but it wasn't that bad. Plenty of beds are in the gardens and we STONGLY recommend using the beach just infront of the hotel, where sun beds can be hired for 5lira each. You will need some beach shoes to go in the sea as it is a bit stoney after the water line. The hotel pool is fresh water clorinated (some pools are sea water!) and the pool boys spend the whole day offering drinks and collecting cups. You are treated like royalty.
This brings me onto the food, which being an all-inclusive hotel is very important. Please note we have stayed 5* all-inclusive, in Turkey and Greece before, but the Belcekiz beach is a class apart, it is wonderful. At every meal (inc breakfast) you have the choice of 30ish salads, 30ish main courses and 30ish puddings in a buffet style. The food is varied everyday and a "special" meal is available (steak, stirfry, chinese, sweet and sour etc). The quantities of food really have to been seen to be believed. We love our food and loved the variety. Not once did we eat in any one of the other resturants, including the hotels own a-la-carte, available in Oui deniz (pronounced Ola denis). The food is always fresh and there is something there that even the most fussy 8 year old will eat.
The staff serving you the meals are everywhere, if your glass is empty or your plate cleared, it will be removed and refilled within 30 seconds! They work SO hard and look to be enjoying what they are doing. The Restaurant manager (Memet) deserves a medal, he walks round all day with his walky-talkie making sure everything is perfect, smiling and managing his army of staff. Concerned about flies while you eat or around the food? They light a little dish of something and all the flies disappear. We would also recommend the peach juice as a different soft drink.
Oh, the hotel also provides fresh beach and room towels everyday, so you don't need to pack those.
This brings me on to the best bit, the entertainment team. Nelly, Eddy, Sunni, Ebol, Kenny, Harkan and a few others. Firstly, they arnt too intrusive. If you want to be left alone and not play darts, pool, table tennis, water polo and other activities, they will not be too pushy. If you do, its great fun, especially the shows they put on most evenings as the hotel has its own outside theatre next to the pool. We found out that the entertainment team also have some proper training (various drama schools), so you're in for a laugh. Again, you will see reviews that call the entertainment "corny" or worse. ITS A BEACH RESORT, if you want better, goto Drury lane.
The main high street is just round the corner from the hotel and seems to do all the normal "genuine fakes" and has a decent array of shops where you can pick up anything you may have forgotten and all your souveniers. You will also see a LOT of paragliding, but beware on the insurance.
We also went to Sugar beach in the blue lagoon, which was a pleasant change and very tranquil as motor driven boats are forbidden from entering the lagoon.
We did the Belcekiz hotel one-day boat trip (accompanied by Eddy). It was FANTASTIC. Stunning surroundings, great food and good fun.
What I did find very interesting is that most guests appeared to have been to the Belcekiz before, and nearly everyone is from the UK. The hotel was also full and yet didn't seem to be too crowded. A big thank you to Karen & Sue (the Thompson reps).
Our room was in the annex just behind the hotel. This is the best place to be as it was quiet and modern.
We spent about four days choosing this holiday, and nearly went to a number of other med destinations. We're glad we went to the Belcekiz Beach hotel, sad to be home now and it is the first resort we've ever been to where we would consider going back.

I can't say this is the best hotel I've ever been to but my wife & I did enjoy our stay. We were disappointed that our room was so small for a 5 star, but we got used to it. For an all inclusive they served some very good selections at the restaurant. Mehmet does an outstanding job. I can see how this place is so popular for families with kids. The entertainment team certainly kept all the kids busy. We enjoyed the adults only pool area and the wonderful smile we got every day from Cindy (Emine) at the bar. She was a delight & every body loved her happy attitude. We've been to other places in Turkey where a lot of the guest don't speak English so I enjoyed talking with a lot of the guests and comparing notes about life in the UK vs USA. Seeing all the para-gliders landing by us at the start of dinner was always enjoyable.
I do recommend the tours to Pamukkale/Hierapolis & Dalyan. If you want hot & sunny weather in August, this is the place to be! Being a Californian I thought I was used to the sun but this place had me sweating for sure! All in all we liked our visit here.

I do agree with lots of the things people say about Club Belcekiz Beach - the rooms are very clean and comfortable, the food is plentiful and varied, the staff work very hard and of course the weather is fanatastic. However it does seem to lack the ambience of a 4 star hotel and wasn't what we were expecting.
The queue for the sunbeds at the main pool is just something else and at 8.00am it turns into a scramble with people actually running to claim their sunbed. Then you can leave your towel there all day and never even sit on the bed. You can of course sit in the 'garden' if you don't mind the mud! Then if you are lucky enough to get a sunbed you can spend all day in very close proximity to your neighbour.
The entertainment team try very hard and the kids seem to love it but it really isn't very good.
My review might sound very different to everyone elses but we chose the wrong hotel and maybe if you are a middle aged couple looking for a realxing holiday then Club Belcekiz Beach is not the place to go.

“I LOVED THE PLACE”

I think the hotel was exellent the bar was great servace even came round to take your order weather you were sun bathing or if you were in the pool and when you finished with drink they would come and colect you cup and offer you another drink,

Also i think the entertainment was great the entertainers were great, Big thankyou to Eddie, Nelly, Ozzie (cant believe you were accually a bar man your a great entertainer)

The location was great rite next to the beach, and also rite next to the high street, a club for teenager just down the road and the hotel back gate dont close untill 1 in the mornin so you have all night to shop or go down to the beach

the food in the resturaunt is amazing you have a big voriouty acually one night i ended up eatin a plate with slice of pizza a slice of turkey and a scoop of mash, any way there also indain, chinese e.c.t (thanks to the chefs) theres also a snak bar that opens durin the day so you can go eat when you feel hungry and that servase is great aswell theres also a variaty of foods there too and that the (EMRE) the snak bar chef (WEST HAM)

The rooms were great the air conditioning, bloody cold (good thing) the beds are comfortable and the sheets are warm if you get cold off the air conditioning and also if you get hot take the covers off buh the one bad thing bout the hole holiday when you have a load of sweet for when you go in at night you turn the tele on and then the air conditioning on and it swiches the tele off
so make sure ppl you sort air conditioning out b4 you turn tele on

the beach of a night is a great place to go and theres alot of youngans down there from other hotels so your teenage kids can go down there and do a bit of socializing lol.

I recomend you try out hotel belcekiz beach club youll never wont to go home the place its self is a second home for me its a wonderfull place.

“Excellent Again”

Club Belcekiz Beach Hotel

Aug 24, 2008

3rd year running again excellent.

All staff are very good as usual and lots of familiar faces from previous years.

Everything the same as before, food was just as good.

Negatives, the irresponsible parents of teenagers that allow there kids to turn their blue bands over to obtain alcohol. Do they not realise it is illegal in Turkey for under 18s to drink. The staff do not realise if the teenagers are 17 or 18, its upto parents to tell the kids to leave the blue bands on blue and not turn them over.

English people moaning about lack of bacon, sausages and heinz baked beans, go to BLACKPOOL if thats what you want.

There is such a choice at breakfast, fresh fruit, omlettes, cereal.

The pool service is great, iced water all the time and fruit juice cocktails in the afternoon.

A fab place if you wanna get away, staff are wonderful. This year we went for 3 weeks, next year 4 weeks.

We book direct with the hotel, they collect you at the airport wonderful. See you all next year guys.
