“Really good holiday :-)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

We stayed here for our honeymoon. We'd had a short engagement and booked it as a cheap deal. Neither of us had been to turkey before and we weren't sure what to expect. The transfer was long, and we arrived around 3am. We were checked into our rooms swiftly. The room was clean and was attended daily with towels made into swans etc. The all inclusive was excellent- so much available all of the time. Breakfast lunch and dinner were buffets with large selection and variety. There was a snack bar stocked all day, as well as Turkish patties/crepes, and afternoon tea and cakes at 4pm everyday. The house wines were available to help yourself in barrels with taps- which made the bar less congested. The hotel grounds are beautiful citrus trees flowers, benches and fountains all over the place. The best part by far for us was the adult's relax pool- peace and quiet with no kids in it. The main pool where the children could access was bigger but the relax pool perfect for those wanting some peace and quiet. The hotel is right on the beach and we enjoyed watching the sunset over the sea. The resort was closing down when we visited but was lovely and quiet.staff at the hotel were helpful and polite, and we couldn't have asked for a more pleasant honeymoon, had we spent years planning and saving!!!

Perhaps it was because the hotel had recently opened for the season, and all of the staff had just met for the first time, but the overall experience was terrible. Although we were all inclusive, we had to eat out more often than not. The food was the worst I have ever tasted/seen in almost 40 years of foreign travel. Chicken on 3 occasions undercooked and oozing blood, burgers perfectly cooked on one side, charred on the other and raw in the centre. Meatballs with lettuce swimming in grease. No food was ever served piping hot. I complained so often to the resturant manager who explained that some of the kitchen staff had never worked in either a hotel or kitchen before. I was asked if I could offer some advice to the "cooks" We paid extra one night for the al a carte menu, served at the poolside, this was the exact same food served in the main restaurant, only served by waiters, the downside being, by the time they get it from the restaurant to the poolside, it's colder than normal. If you enjoy good food, this is not the hotel for you. In my opinion the problem lies with the hotel management, who employ unskilled and inexperienced staff, and pay them peanuts.

My husband and I decided to stay in this lovely hotel as we were getting married in Olu Deniz and wanted somewhere beautiful to stay. We definately chose the right place :) Five other family members also visited ths hotel for two weeks in July 2011. It was the first time any of us had stayed in this hotel, and needless to say, we will definitely be returning in July 2012!! The hotel itself lovely and clean, the rooms are spotless and the staff were very friendly. There are 3 pools to choose from, a main pool, an activity pool with slides and an adult pool which is available to anyone over the age of 16. We chose to stay by the adult pool most of the holiday. They play good music there (not too loud either) and the bar staff next to that pool couldn't be more courteous. There was one guy who even made random cocktails for my husband and I to try :) The food in the buffet restaurant exceeded my expectations. The choice is a lot more varied compared to your usual All inclusive. The staff in the evening were very helpful and always on hand if you needed anything! There is also a snack bar serving your usual chips, meatballs, burgers and sausage. However there were times that we ventured out for something to eat. I highly recommend the Turkish kebabs served at the Sun Cafe situated at the far end of the beach. Very filling and at a bargain price of 5 lira, you can't complain :)
Anyway, if you're looking for a either a relaxing or fun filled holiday, this is your place! It caters for anybody of any age. Couldn't have asked for anything more :) If you decide to stay here say Hi from us to Emrah, Cem and Omur from Mel and Matt!!

I went here with my girlfriend for a week in october and found the Hotel to be clean, tidy and well presented. Booked it all up myself via travelrepublic.co.uk and saved a few pounds with daytime flights :-) We went with the intention of finding complete relaxation and that is what we found.
On arrival we were allocated a room that can only be described as hidden away and not particularly inviting due to being situated in a cellar next to the swimming pool pump room! but after a friendly request to Mustafa on reception he quickly and efficiently sorted us out a free upgrade to a lovely room with a small garden. (And the only requirement to enable this was a promise of chocolate, which we gladly supplied!) Maid service was every few days and to a high standard. (I had no idea you could make so many shapes with towels!)
The food in our opinion was lovely. As long as you dont go with a typical Brit attitude and are prepared to try new things there were lots of different and varied menus and plenty of salad that was always fresh, Always a good laugh watching the fusspots insist on chips every night!! The waiters were always there with a smile and a glass of wine or beer for you.
The pools were always clean and the bars were well stocked with friendly staff who always managed a smile even after shifts of over 12 hours!
All in all we had a wonderful relaxing week in very pleasant surroundings. Thankyou Olu Deniz Resort Hotel :-)
P.S. It is well worth taking full advantage of a boat trip while you are there but dont be fooled into visiting the Butterfly Valley....... A complete absence of any butterflies, and a long walk into someones overgrown quarry like garden!! Save the few pound they charge you as you enter and go for a swim off the boat instead in what can only be described as a fantastic crystal clear bay with stunning cliff views.

Visited this resort with my Girlfriend back in the summer. The minute we arrived, very impressed the whole layout of the resort is beautiful and we fell in love with Oludeniz. The resort itself is somewhat like a little village, with separate buildings making up the rooms, and little walkways guiding you around the resort. We spent most of our time at the quiet pool as it was more relaxing and less busy. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. As well as this staff you frequently saw, became like friends as they would always make conversation and time for you.

The location was second to none, literally less than a minute to the beach which was fab. The entertainment at the resort at nighttime was as you'd expect, very family orientated and fun.

The room itself was very cosy, clean the only downside was at times through the day it was dark inside. Everyday the Staff cleaned the rooms, absolutely brilliant service.

We went all inclusive, and defiantly would again. The drinks were a real plus, although it must be noted that the cocktails were not included with the price and drinks weren't included after 12 Am. The food at night time was good, there was always a range, although i recommend getting there early to avoid sitting inside which was rather hot. The only disappointment about the food were the breakfasts which to be fair didn't change at all from the lunch time food. Better than what you'd expect from all inclusive food, even if it did become repetitive by the end, but what do you expect when you've stayed for 11nights.

Overall a very memorable holiday, a beautiful place made more enjoyable by a beautiful resort.

We stayed at this hotel for a short break in August 2011 for a week, and arrived in the very early hours of the morning, and were greeted by the receptionists who were efficient with dealing with everyone that arrived, and getting us to our rooms to get some sleep!

Despite being highly rated by Thomson, and although initial impressions of the hotel were good, we soon found that it wasn't as tidy as we'd expect from such a highly rated hotel, and the room we stayed in was tiny. It could fit a double bed and a dresser in and that was about it other than an en-suite and wardrobe in the hallway. To match the room, we had a tiny balcony, no more than a few square meters which we didn't even bother with other than drying clothes as it looked straight at a wall.

Despite being small we did have a good rest in the rooms as there was no noise from any of our neighbours, and there seemed to be no loud visitors to the hotel, however there are a lot of Russians at this hotel, and most of the food and service seems to be orientated towards them. That doesn't mean the hotel didn't cater for the British, it just seemed to be a lot of Russians.

There are three pools at the hotel, the main pool by reception, the relax pool at the opposite end of the hotel (2-3 mins walk), and the new activity pool which has a water slide to keep those that don't want a relaxing holiday happy so everyone else could enjoy the relax pool, which we took full advantage of. The relax pool has an age restriction of over 16's only so there are no ball games, and no messing around which was nice. However it was worth getting some towels from reception and placing them on the sunbeds early to ensure you get a space as it's quite crowded round the pool, so much so that we had a French lady under our umbrella with us at one point!

The hotel is all inclusive, with a good range of drinks available all day, although the range of snacks outside meal times seems to be a bit restricted so the best advice is to have a good breakfast lunch and dinner to keep you going. When we stayed there the food didn't seem to vary too much, with a very continental breakfast in the morning, European lunch and a VERY VERY busy evening dinner. The breakfast and lunch windows for eating are a couple of hours, so they were never busy and you could quite easily get a table.

The only negative points worth mentioning with this hotel is the evening meal and the staff at the evening meal. To say the least it was a shambles. Firstly other than a couple of waiters, the staff at the meal were generally not bothered by anything, service was poor even by European standards, the staff were more interested in texting and forgot about requests made for water and drinks. In addition to this the restaurant opens from 8pm to 9:30pm, and they will not let anyone in before 8pm. On the first couple of nights we got there for 8pm as we were starving, but it was a mad rush, kids and staff everywhere, and it was a right mess. We learnt quickly and decided we'll get a drink first and approach the restaurant later, about 8:45pm, which seemed to be once the rush had calmed down, however the restaurant stopped cooking at 9 so by the time we'd had our starters there was very little to choose from for mains! Not a good setup, so much so we decided to get a meal from Sultan Ahmed on the main shopping strip which was the best meal we’d had whilst we were there, and a at 60 Lira (20 GBP) for a meal we certainly couldn’t complain, other than wishing we’d done it more often!

Despite the poor service, the hotel is in an absolutely fantastic location at the end of the picturesque beach, and about 2mins slow walk to the main shopping street. The beach is lovely, although a bit stony, but the sea is so warm and inviting, we had to go for a swim!

The resort of Olu Deniz is so picturesque, and is one of the best places we've been to, and we would definitely go back to Turkey based on this visit. I wouldn’t say the stay at this hotel was overly negative, however there’s a lot to be desired, and perhaps we’ll try a different hotel next time!

Room Tip: Don't bother with the sea view rooms, by all accounts they're up a steep hill, and the view...
