“Fantastic staff, beautiful location, food more than plentiful, wish we could have stayed longer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2010

Service was incredible, empty plates, glasses etc whisked away in seconds, whether at breakfast or dinner, or just sitting in a deckchair.Very friendly and extremely professional staff. The Head Waiters in each restaurant area made sure everything ran smoothly every day Our room very clean & comfortable. Aircon and balcony a blessing in July !
This Hotel is in a fabulous location, quiet and tranquil setting by lagoon.
Within easy reach of town for nightlife if wanted, far enough away if you don`t !
Outside areas around hotel site are planted out attractively, and kept in good condition
Nothing to dislike, well, apart from the 160 steps to our room ! The outside lift fabulous
we then only had approx 25 to climb. But we had been warned !!

We have been back to this hotel 9 times with the children. We all love it the staff are great with the children, nothing is too much trouble. The scenery and the location are amazing. The food is good.

As we arrived the lift I feel sure is not compliant with Health and Safety regulations. Unless you are able to make the food buffet prompt they do not replenish food (and to be honest it really is not worth eating)! We were offered another room as we arrived due to the smell of damp. Spoke to the holiday Rep who was unable to offer alternative accommodation and therefore had to pay out for an alternative hotel as we were not prepared to stay there for 24 hours. Please if like us you enjoy a holiday, I can only say there is nothing Meri or indeed happy about this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 days. I chose the caravan because the caravans were closer to the beach and was very modern and also private. It was very nice to stay in the caravan and like having your own house by the beach. The hotel was nice, the food and service was OK. I loved the salad bar and pastries served afternoon. The price could be lower though but since it is one of the very few hotels by Oludeniz beach, it makes sense why it is not cheap like the other hotels there. We went there in the last minute, just walked in and got the room and still got some discount. We paid around 70 eur per person and this includes everything. I am sure with early reservation the price could be lower.

If you want to stay in a hotel by the beach at Oludeniz, Fethiye, this hotel is probably your only choice with that price. Other options are camping places where you will not have the amenities of a hotel.

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 week break at The Meri. We actually got married there, all arranged through Anatolian Sky.

From my first phone call to Daisy the wedding planner in the UK last September, through to being dropped back at Dalaman airport on our way home at the end of our stay we have been extremely impressed with everything.

Everything went without a hitch. We took our 5 grown up children out with us (who range from 22 to 28) for the first week (a treat on us) during which we had the wedding, then had the second week on our own.

The location is simply breathtaking, and more to the point naturally beautiful. No concrete jungle of high rise hotels here, just stunning scenery. This in my mind is what gives The Meri a good part of it's "magic". The rooms are located at varying heights up the side of the mountain, accessed by an outside lift/cable car which stops around midnight, so if your room is situated on a high level you are faced with a considerable number of steps to climb if you head back to your room late, however the steps are safe and all have handrails and you can stop to take in the scennery on your way up.
The rooms were plenty large enough, the air conditioning worked well and the beds were extremely comfortable.

The staff were simply amazing, friendly, attentive and could not have made us feel more welcome. Add to this the location, weather, pool and sea and we truly had a fantastic honeymoon.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served in different restuarants, and there is plenty of choice. One of my daughters is vegetarian and she had no problem with food choices at all.

We ventured into Olu Deniz main town on a few occasions, and went on a couple of enjoyable day trips, one a boat trip through the hotel, which was hosted by Recep (the hotels head waiter, who as usual treated us like royalty - this man is truly worth his weight in gold!) and the other a trip to Tlos and Saklikent Gorge through Anatolian Sky. Both were great and showed us more of the real Turkey.

We also discovered that if you take a pedalo out on the Blue Lagoon and head for the far corner, stop pedalling and just bob about in 3 - 4 feet of water you are very likely to catch sight of the loggerhead turtles as indeed we did.

To sum up we loved the place, the people and everything else about it, so much so that we have already booked (and we only got back on the 4th July) to return next June for our 1st wedding anniversary.

If you love spectacular scenery and real people you will love this place.

We stayed for 3 weeks inc, in oct 06, And i ve got to say it was brilliant. The views from the breakfast restaurant were amazing, and the food was nice. Sometimes a little samey, but it wasnt horrid at all. i actually had my 18th there and will never forget it for all the right reasns. We found the staff very helpfull and you could deffinatly have a laugh with them, and they made the day so special. We met some other families out there and totaly enjoyed ourselves. The lagoon was just fabulous and so peacefull, and safe for families with young children. Look out for the turtles! Also we went on the oraganised boat trip with the hotel, abd it was such a laugh an not to be missed either!! We did the paragliding which we booked in the town, and if u have the stomach for it, is not to be missed. Its one of the top stops for it in the world. Plan to go back there deffiantly, but so many other places to go first!!

The positive part of the holiday first;
Great location, good food, friendly attentive service, nice pool and safe beach.
Now the negatives
The room we were allocated smelt, there were cobwebs on the ceiling, the a/c didn't work, the shower screen was hanging off, the blankets were dirty and the final straw was when my wife received an electric shock from the bedside lamp. Finally we were given an acceptable room. Also, during our time there the lift wasn't working and we didn't have any hot water for almost two days.
So in conclusion, great location - lousy rooms.
