“Not really for young families”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2008

Having read the reviews on this site we were quite looking forward to our stay at the Perdikia and in the main they give an accurate description of the hotel. It is clean, perfectly located and Olu Deniz is great but taking a young family to the hotel wasn't perhaps our greatest move because the hotel has faults. Our holidays are pretty much split 50/50 beach and pool as our children love both. Evening entertainment is also enjoyed and in these two areas the hotel really suffers.
The atmosphere in the hotel and pool area are more befitting a retirement haven - it is quite and the pool area is so small that it is impossible to enjoy yourself in the pool without "disturbing" the more mature residents. It is extremely narrow and slippy and impossible for any young child to walk on, if they were to run on it there would be a broken appendage or two without a doubt. The children's area is frequented more by the local cats than kids and is unclean. Evening entertainment happens once or twice a week and is geared for the more mature resident which is fine but our son was dancing to the music on one occasion and the hotel staff started bringing the tables for breakfast back onto the dancefloor effectively stopping him dancing at around 10pm and weren't that friendly either. We took a walk up to the hotel turquoise where our friends were staying and the experience was completely different. It's a hotel geared for families and we will probably stay there should we return.
If you are a couple approaching 50 the hotel is perfect, if you have a young family look elsewhere.

We will always remember Perdikia as truly guest oriented hotel.
People give 5* effort to make you feel truly as guest.
Food is tasty, although portions might be bigger - but generally in Turkey that is the case.
Rooms are a bit smaller - but have in mind that Perdikia is a *** hotel.
Overall - nice place for people who know how to relax.

I have just returned from an 11 night stay at this hotel. My friend and I both loved it. I really could not fault it. The staff in the hotel could not do enough for us and knew our names after the first day. The hotel and rooms look like they have been recently refurbished. The room and bathroom were spotless and brand new. Neutral/clean decor, nothing like the 2007 photos in earlier reviews. Lots of storage space and much needed air-con. If I went back to Olu Deniz, I would definitely stay in the Perdikia. The resort is lovely, but the main beach is quite pebbly. We wandered along to one of the 'Private Beaches' behind the lagoon. Our favourite was Seahorse or Billy's. The pool at the Perdikia is lovely but I've always preferred going to the beach. Our regular nightspot was a Karaoke bar called 'N'Joy'. Very friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere.
If you are staying at the hotel on a B & B basis, the restaurant manager will try and sell you the evening meals but by no means is it a 'hard-sell'. We just had a laugh about it and did in fact go to the Turkish Night which was good fun (even though I normally avoid those sort of events like the plague!). The only other thing to mention is the wasps! If like me you've got a phobia of them, be warned as there are hundreds of them in the resort. The restaurant area at the hotel is outdoors to the wasps love it. It would not put me off though because the wasps are everywhere, not just the Perdikia. All in all, a fab hotel.

just returned from a week stay at Hotel Perdikia in olu deniz, what can is say but great location, great staff and great holiday!hotel is 5 mins walk to beach and resort centre, just enough away off main road to be queit but perfect base to explore this beautiful resort. staff are very friendly and helpful, turkish night is great value for money, pool area is lovely and water is always hot, rooms are what you would expect for small and friendly hotel very basic as is most places in turkey but ideal as you literally only want to sleep there! air con in room was great extra and was free! prices in hotel are very good too!
definately would go back!!
