“Fabulous holiday !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

just returned from the pinara apts and we will be definately booking up for next year.. the terrible reviews i read before we went didnt put me off as such but was a little worried, i didnt need to be, on some of the reviews i couldnt understand why people had said what they did..The accomodation is very basic but what can you expect from a 3 star rated accomodation you dont spend all day and night in your accomodation on holiday anyway, although it needs up dating eg decor and furniture..The room we had 203 was very spacious, clean and had a huge bathroom..All the bad reviews on the manger Birol we found him to be very friendly, chatty and often liked having a laugh also we found him to go out of his way when we approached him..The barman was absolutely fantastic too loved having a laugh with us and other guests in the pool he waved us off and im sure he had a tear in his eye..There was one or two things i didnt think were right although very trivial..we ate several times at the pinara and the food was excellent.. The only thing i would say on the downside is that there is no entertainment in the apts at night but that didnt spoil our holiday plenty bars etc not far away from apts which are in an ideal location..The pool was spotless and the size of half an olympic pool and the best pool by far ive been too abroad, always plenty of sunbeds no matter what time you came down..so i just want to saty to Birol and his staff a great big huge thank you for an absolutely brilliant holiday and not forgetting Tyler the Thomas Cook rep what an aboslutely lovely person who does his job well 100 % always had time for his guests and you could approach him to ask him anything the best rep ive ever had the privilige to meet...roll on next year Pinara here we come !!!!

After reading the bad reviews I thought this was going to be a holiday from hell. However, we met some great people, including the lads and lasses from Newcastle, bedfordshire and Glasgow etc. Without them the holiday would have been rubbish as the only entertainment provided by the hotel was a bit of music and Shaggy the barman trying to dance to it.

As I know you will be reading this Tyler, TOP OF THE MORNING TO YOU.

Tyler is the Thomas Cook Rep who unlike every other holiday we have been on, he actually wanted to help us with any problems we had. He is also a great sport and loves water activites so next time you see him make sure you have a water fight and push/dunk him in the pool.

On arrival at the Pinara my husband two children aged 14 and 11 and myself where quite shocked to see a pile of dirty bean bag chairs and what looked like an abandoned area, however turning the corner is a lovely sized swimming pool and bar area.
We where taken to our apartment which was at the side of the building with no view at all we where very disappointed and asked if we could move but where told there where no free rooms for 6 days, we tried to be positive as it was a nice big apartment however on closer inspection it was run down and had many maintenance problems and the sound proofing was non existent, you could even here the people upstairs cleaning their teeth (not good) and it was certainly not clean, we spoke to our wonderful Rep Becky after 5 days who managed to get us moved into a new apartment that was fantastic overlooking the pool with 4 patio doors.
Nice food especially the onion rings shame there was no entertainment at the apartments not even the weekly BBQ as advertised.
Shame we hadn't started the holiday in the lovely room but at least the second week was better thanks to Becky she made our holiday.
For a cheap holiday we would return here as the location was great.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view, much nicer and quieter.

We booked this on the strength of all the positive reviews from 2011, so reading the current 2012 reviews before we left, it was with some foreboding that we departed.
We returned from the Pinara on 03.09.12., having booked a 2 bedroom apartment but ended up, luckily, with a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom apartment ! With 2 teenage girls, this was a godsend!!
The apartment itself was on 2 levels and was a huge size, but in all honesty, it was a little "tired" and needed at least re-decorating, with new linen and towels also. We would sum the place up as follows :

Positives :
Great sized pool with little or no trouble to get sunbeds.
Super location - the nightlife a short walk away, but quiet enough to not be disturbed by it.
Rooms - whilst we were fortunate, all the apartments seemed to be of a good size.

Negatives :
All a little dated and in need of a spruce up.
Cleaning - Sporadic at best. The leaflet in the room suggested cleaning everyday, with clean towels twice a week and clean linen twice a week. We were "cleaned" 3 times in two weeks, with clean towels/linen on arrival which were changed twice whilst we were there ! Oh.......and I've never been anywhere previously where you have to buy your own loo rolls ??
The food and drink around the pool policy. I have no objections to this, but 2.50TL for a 1.5litre bottle of water where the dearest supermarket was 1TL is not really on.
We had a unit fall off of the wall which was dealt with immediately but not resolved by fixing it correctly until a week later, after my daughter placed a large "FIX ME" not on it !

All in all we had a great time, partly because we made good friends with several other families, but it could, with a little effort and a slight change in attitude a "must visit" place again.

Room Tip: Try to get the 3 bedroom apartment !!!

We have just returned on 31/8/2012 from The Pinara Apartments and will be booking again for next year. We read terrible reviews on here and were dreading going, so please do not be put off!
The accomodation is very central and is very open and spacious. The pool area is amazing. The pool is the best swimming pool ive ever been to. Its half the size of an olympic pool and is maintained well every day. There are enough loungers and grabbing a bed at 10am is not difficult baring in mind we arrived peak season on 17th August! The rooms are very large and spacious however on a down side are now looking tired and need modernising. the furniture and general painting needs to be looked at at least for next season. But in all honesty a holiday is not spent 24/7 sitting in doors is it? Bathrooms were large and clean and we had a fab balcony in room 206 it was the size of a dancefloor!
Many previous comments about Berol didnt seam to match up with what we found. Everyday he tried to make time to chat and we found if a customer had a problem with their room or didnt like their room he resolved any issues. We called the bar man `Shaggy` from Scooby Doo as he was the spitten image an giggled lots. He was much fun and a lovely person.
There was a few things we didnt think were right and they are quite trivial but i shall mention them so you are aware before you travel. You can not bring any food or drink to the pool area and although all customers ate and drank here many were pulled up for a bottle of water... which we felt inappropiate as it is important to keep healthy - 50 cents everywhere yet 2 Lira at the pool! Drinks are slightly higher than the rest of the village too. Food is well over priced. Full English breakfast at the Lemon Tree Resteraunt is just 5 lira and its amazing..
Apart from that we loved the place and want people not to be put off. Good news which i will tell you is we met Denise and she has confirmed she will be back running things from October and the reason she let the property be managed this year was due to a relative being ill... that came from her mouth so good news to past customers.

Room Tip: 204 - 206 - pool views the best

Came back from the pinara last week after 14 days of bliss, couple of problems early doors but Birol soon sorted that out.I was also pleased that i could leave my 2 sons in a safe place and the staff treated them like adults. The pool area was always kept spotless and the barman either jumped in the pool and had fun with the guests or walked round the pool to see if you wanted a drink.Sunbeds was an issue at times but if guests vanish for 4 hrs leaving a soggy towel to leave there mark then come bk and then collect towel then go for a siesta what do you expect, personally i would remove there towels after 90 mins and throw them in the bin, problem solved. Also is there any need to get up at 5am to claim your sunbeds.GET A LIFE..Food spot on,hotel spot on,staff spot on,location spot on,on a whole top notch. Thanks Birol and staff...Big Mark.

Absolutely amazing place to stay, the staff here are so friendly and helpful, and more down to earth than other places you stay at. The apartment we stayed in was really good, enough space for the five of us. I really want to stay here again as it was such a good atmosphere.

Room Tip: Rooms closer to the village are a lot louder due to the noise from bars and restaurants
